Mercury-Pluto, again
Mercury-Pluto, again
I know 10 people with this aspect both close and hard and, after having them read the interpretation for it, after having their friends and family read the interpretation to see if it describes them, and after thinking about them in the terms described to see whether they apply at all, in each case the conclusion drawn is that they don't. None of the individuals can be described as having a really individual cognitive style, none of them are remotely investigative, none of them are interested in topics outside the mainstream, none of them are eager or excited about inquiries, and none would describe themselves as ever coming close to slipping off the edge of normalcy. I don't think the interpretion is right. Even personally I can only see my Mercury-Uranus and not my Mercury-Pluto much at all. I don't have any new interpretation to put forward, I'm just not sure what's going on

I forgot to mention that they are disagreeable LOL.
So tell me, what do they have in common?

They aren't naturally inquisitive but they do seem more willing to engage in dialectic than most, they seem to have a better ability to sustain attention than most when they need to, they seem acutely receptive to meaning and I think it's important to all of them (this is hard to pin down exactly, they don't die without meaningful things but it certainly gives them all new life, and by meaning I mean authenticity in relationships, entertainment, and conversations, and they all have one thing that they really enjoy and go back to, one loves Michael Jackson, another likes associating feelings with animals), I think they all have a subtle dispassion about them, not that they generally have a philosophic mode of being and are willing to disengage with deeply held beliefs, but there seems to be room apart between themselves and what they think (like the one who loves MJ, she's willing to grapple with the possibility that he might have done unfortunate things). I have to think about it more but as I'm thinking about it now it seems just that the traits are less explicit than what I expected, more subtleJim Eshelman wrote: Tue Apr 16, 2019 3:49 pm I forgot to mention that they are disagreeable LOL.

Does anyone actually see the given traits for this aspect in the regular people they know? I keep asking more and more people and I'm more and more convinced that something isn't right here

I see them routinely in the ordinary people I know (or otherwise I wouldn't have written it that way).sotonye wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 3:30 pm Does anyone actually see the given traits for this aspect in the regular people they know?
I thought your second post was agreeing with it also (except you thought it would be more dramatic than what you were seeing).
The "Notebook #93" note at the bottom of the Mercury-Pluto page are observations I organized in the '90s of people i knew well. I took those into consideration in the more substantial rewrite a year or so ago.
BTW, the rest of your second post sounds remarkably like what I've written about Mercury-Pluto aspects (In fact, now that I look, it sounds even more like my second paragraph on that page marked "Possible Rewrite" - though the two paragraphs are pretty similar.)
