My 2019 SSR

Hi Jim,
JSAD' s relocated SSR to Santa Barbara made me reflect about my own 2019 SSR.
I know you have only just come back and I sincerely thank you for your time.

My SSR is somehow similar with t. Neptune and t. Jupiter exact followed by t. Moon and Mars.
Natal planets involved are r. Moon and r. Jupiter.
Also there are two partile malefic transits, t. Mars- r. Saturn and t. Saturn - r. Mars.

Do you think it would be better to travel to a more benefic place or is it quite alright to stay in The Hague?
I find this SSR difficult to decipher.
Regards,
Flo

On first impression, Flo, your SSR is delightful. You're still living in The Hague, yes? Transiting Jupiter squares MC (0°18'), Neptune is 0°24' above Asc. The one tense item is a mundane Moon-Mars conjunction that isn't as evident ecliptically: Moon is 5°59' above Dsc, Mars 6°30' above, so they are n 0°31' mundane conjunction.

That Jupiter is conjunct your Moon (2°30') and will transit across it during the year is very nice, and progressed SSR Moon will square natal Jupiter about 4 months after your birthday.

To complete the angularities, natal Moon is 6°24' west of (past) MC, natal Uranus 6°30' past Dsc, and natal Pluto 9°17' before (above) Dsc. This means that you suddenly have a natal Moon-Uranus (mundane) square that you don't have in your birth chart - only 0°06' wide. This paves the way for a lot of fascinating surprises and new things to engage your attention.

Admittedly, the natal Moon, Uranus, and Pluto foreground make for lots of internal (and perhaps environmental) change. Sometimes people find this to be positive, sometimes negative, depending on how ready for change they are at the moment. The SSR Moon-Mars mundane conjunction is about 3° from natal Pluto mundanely, so some of this change will confront you, though inherently it is neutral.

I wouldn't consider it a bad chart at all, and it has some very good points (the two ways that Moon-Jupiter link up over the course of the year), but let's take a minute to see if it can be improved.

Jupiter on Midheaven slices just west of London, due north and south, so it catches western France and eastern Spain. (There are a lot of wonderful places along that line, as I'm sure you know.) Neptune is more dominant through central France and up through your area, so a little farther west (closer to the Jupiter line) has advantages.

MOON-JUPITER (with Jupiter square Asc instead of on MC) passes near you, say, in Brussels, then down through central France. This is also a Neptune area and, since it's some of the world's greatest wine and beauty areas, that may not be so bad for a vacation, but you would get a purer Jupiter (without Neptune complications) if you stayed farther west as mentioned above. Personally, I'd lock in the purer Jupiter and then look for shorter-term playtime with Moon-Jupiter-Neptune, such as having your birthday in Bordeaux and then a few days in Burgundy.

Avoid the area around the Germany-Poland border. Your MARS line goes exactly along the border, and exactly converges with Moon in the northern part. Mars goes on down through central Czech, Austria, etc., and the most southern areas of Italy (say, Puglia and Calabria), so those aren't the best. Far eastern Europe puts SATURN on MC (the longitude of Athens and due north), so avoid that area. Saturn also squares Asc through eastern Germany down through Croatia and the southern parts of Italy just mentioned, putting MARS-SATURN angular in those places - I'd avoid them!

Bottom line, don't go east of central Switzerland; your area and central-to-eastern France are good for play and indulgence; London, eastern France, and western Spain are great for general positivity and flourishing.

Jim, thank you so much for your detailed reply. I am very happy with your interpretation.
Connecting the dots is what I found difficult with this upcoming SSR and you clarified all of this.
To get an even better outcome for this SSR I will defenitely travel to a place you mentioned. They are nearby and very accessible from The Hague where I still live. Nice to have a choice.
By the way my current SSR has t. Mercury and Jupiter and r. Mercury and Uranus. This year I have never travelled so much for work all over the world. Right now I am in Dublin. That really stands out so far. When the year is over I plan to write about it.
Regards,
Flo

Jim, how important is the effectiveness date?
I have chosen to drive down to Fougeres in France where the SSR will have Jupiter partile on MC (my aim) and Neptune a bit more away from ASC then in The Hague. My SSR starts on Oct 25th at 5:15AM. You mentioned before that the SSR is already effective in advance, I think it was 24 hours? However, in the 24 hours effectiveness time I am driving almost along the pure Neptune line where Jupiter is away. If I am in Fougeres before Oct 25th 5:15AM, I should be okay? Thanks for your help. Flo.

I think if you're there at the time it occurs, you're covered. However, there is always the possibility that the 30-hour before-and-after window has some effect - enough chance that if you can manage to be there 30 hours early, there's no reason not to.

Still, if you're there at the actual moment of the return, I would stress about anything else.

Thanks a lot Jim, for a short moment I was a bit worried.
