K had a rather complex looking 2019 Solar Return for her current residence in Austin, TX, with Moon, Sun, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto on angles. She didn't want to chance the Saturn and Pluto combination because it made me frown. I recommended several locations in California, which put Jupiter precisely on the Asc. This also put her natal Neptune quite close to the SSR Asc.

Yesterday, July 2, she was in Berkeley, CA, for her Solar Return. At approximately 5:40 PM local time, perhaps even exactly an hour before her SSR was precise at 6:43 PM, she was broadsided by another car at an intersection.

Both drivers were completely unharmed. She does have car insurance. Fault has not yet been decided, but the other driver has a witness saying his light was green.

She was dealing with the aftermath of the wreck at the intersection while the solar return was precise.

Do you believe that events around the time of the SSR are indicative of the year to come?

Don't forget that yesterday was a total solar eclipse exactly on her Sun. Some people think of eclipses as intrinsically bad; I think of them as intrinsically powerful, intense, concentrated, nit always easy to tell from an exact Pluto transit, primarily acting as an accelerant of whatever they touch.

The eclipse occurred (was total) with Sun at 15°37' Gemini, Moon 15°41' Gemini. Her Sun is 15°52' Gemini. She was going to get a sharp "getting your attention" smack from the universe regardless, on issues about her fundamental identity, direction in life, and how she is handling her life overall. My first impression is that by moving her SSR from Austin (Saturn-Pluto rising and the eclipse-impacted Sun closely setting, etc.) to Berkeley (Jupiter rising), you reduced a potentially life-upending (or life-ending) blow into a massive nuisance.

Solar eclipse sponsored event tend to happen right around the eclipse and, perhaps, stretch until the next eclipse about six months later.

Regardless of location, there will be some vulnerable spots. SQ Moon squares her Pluto early September, opposes solar Saturn late September, opposes solar Pluto mid-January, all of these with an orb of one month applying and one month separating. BTW she was going to have some strong effects (eclipse aside) no matter where she went with SSR Moon square her Pluto about 2°.

Instead of Austin, where it is quite severe, you picked a spot for her with Jupiter 1° below Asc, quite good. It conjoins her Neptune, which rises moderately - good for a "get-away" though, in this case, it also gave some jitters and flusters.

I think you did a good job. We can never know for sure, of course, since we don't have her also being in Austin for a different concurrent experience. But your story makes clear that this could have been way worse, so I'm inclined to trust that you deflected something much worse.

I should mention that transiting Mercury was sesquisquare both natal and transiting Neptunes within 1° (transiting Neptune within 0°10'), and transiting Neptune was on IC at the time of the accident.

To complicate it further... her progressed Moon was 15°36' Pisces, minutes from square natal Sun and almost to the minute square the total solar eclipse. She didn't just have the eclipse on her Sun, she had it on her Sun square progressed Moon.

Additionally, her natal chart relocated to Berkeley has:

L MC 8°03' Gemini

This doesn't travel with her back home. It was location specific, and not part of the SSR - but a progression to her local angles. (Yes, this one could have been caught and anticipated an advisory to all of us.)

There was, however, one extraordinarily positive marker for the location besides her new SSR. Solar Arc MC 16°16' Cancer was conjunct natal Jupiter the whole time she was there.
