News is still coming in, but there may be as many as 10 people dead from an active shooter at Ned Peppers Bar in Dayton, OH. (Confirmed: 10 deaths including the shooter, 27 other injuries.) This will be most noted historically as occurring 13 hours after the El Paso shooting, and may have been a copycat.

The 24-year-old shooter was denied re-entrance to the bar, then opened fire into the bar with a semi-automatic pistol that had a 100-round ammunition drum. Within 32 seconds of his first shot, cops were there and took him down. It was clearly not a spontaneous event: He was wearing body armor and had multiple high-capacity magazines for the gun he was carrying.

Reports from those who know him suggest that he had active or incipient schizophrenia, though there was never an opportunity for a diagnosis of this. He had consumed alcohol, cocaine, and anti-anxiety medication before the shooting.
