Can you set up your year on your SSR

I recently had an SSR with the MC at 18 Sag 32 and Saturn at 19 Sag 08. I planned to leave the area to mitigate the effect. Turned out I wasn't able to due to circumstances beyond my control, so I planned to take a short trip about 200 miles away and stay overnight, but my car was suddenly unable to make the trip and I couldn't manage a rental car.
So I was stuck here.

I spent the time between 9:43PM on my birthday and 12:43AM two days later (30 hours) writing down everything that happened or that I did, in order to check if there is any correlation with what happens in the coming year. Seems there should be.
I avoided doing things I don't enjoy and did things I do, and did things I want to do more of during this year. I controlled what happened as much as I could.. That's a pretty Saturnian thing to do, isn't it.

I am wondering if anybody else has tried this sort of thing, and what results they got.

I haven't tried that as a "programming the year" thing, though I've long thought that the custom of celebrating people's birthdays came from a casual folk-observation that how this day goes has portents for the year ahead.

Back in the '70s and early '80s, I did, for a few years, keep a minute-by-minute log of what happened in my first 30 hours 9 minutes and then worked each timing out to when, during the year, those birthday happenings corresponded to by the SQ and PSSR rate. There were some really surprising exact correlations, of which the most surprising was: On my birthday someone called to ask me to assist with a seminar the following spring and the minute of the call, by PSSR or SQ rate, worked out to the weekend of the seminar! But there were other things, like the time I had sex on my birthday converted to a sexually intense week during the year; times that I ate on my birthday converted to important going out to eat periods; and other less precise and more inferential things.

Nonetheless, good attitude, quality visualization, conscious choices etc. are always a good thing.

I have never tried that particular exercise, but I always mediate/ponder my angular SSR symbolism and SSR Moon aspects! And then I will plan things out as a schedule when I want to initiate things with my own direct action with certain objectives. When I see angular malefic symbolism in my SSR's, I figure I can only be prepared as much as possible for any 'ifs' with an angular SSR Saturn, and then when I see Saturn manifestation-- try my best to mitigate any possible damages to my psyche or others in my immediate environment. We just do the best we can. I am very interested—keep us informed with your solar year and how you see your angular SSR Saturn manifest.

I have seen at times where others around me seem to somehow escape angular SSR Saturn damage. With me, angular SSR Saturn always hurts me in some manner, but it could have to do with how our Natal Saturn's are aspected as the extent of our psychological reactions to an angular SSR Saturn, but I don't really know for sure. Saturn likes to force certain structures on us that we may not like, but some people are already structured in ways which would not hurt them as much with someone who was leading an unstructured life. Maybe, the more structured our lives are--the less hurt Saturn will manifest. But one thing for sure--Saturn is angular in your SSR for a reason, but we never realize the reason until we see its manifestation. The first thing which pops into my mind is your aged vehicle finally dies where you are forced into unpleasant $ situations regardless how good our mechanic-- I know that feeling.

I think though that my SSR sets up on the 19th of Feb. A day after my "birthday" was wondering , should I start it at the moment of the actual return, or possibly a little while before?
A lot here really depends on the weather as to what I can actually physically do, but I am also working on activities that deal with the inner psychological aspects of the return.
I was thinking of like setting up the day as a semi play or theather show. Orchestrating certain activities but also having moments of intermission free play allowing for the universe to add any impromptu events.

You still in Scottsville? If so your return sets up at 2:17 AM February 19, 2020.

Jim has suggested spending not only the 30 hours after your return time in an auspicious place (on your Jupiter or Venus line) but also trying to spend the 30 hours before the return time.

So I think for this kind of "programming" that would translate to 30 hours before and 30 after trying to program the SSR. Depends, of course, how much stock you put in reverse PSSRs and SQs. I'm of the opinion you might as well try. So that means you should try to program from 8:17 PM on Feb 17th through 8:17 AM on the 20th. The most important part of that is the latter half, so from 2:17 AM on the 19th through 8:17 AM on the 20th.

The beautiful of it is, Im off from work that whole week!! So I can really make that time my own.
Im espicially pleased about that fact because of that T. Mars on my Dec square my Pluto.
That aspect has some really powerful potentials for wonderfullness, at least in my eyes, and the prospect of not having to "babysit" emotionally violatle and disagreeable middle schoolers...for minimum wage, seems like a blessing.
Maybe thats the T jupiter to my venus getting ready to shine.
Still mopping and dusting up this year of course.
