USA Mundane Forecast
for the four weeks beginning NOVEMBER 2, 2019
If you are unfamiliar with the methods and interpretations of Sidereal mundane astrology, please see my free book Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link to the current edition can be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) For standard interpretations, see Chapter 8 of the current (16th) Edition.
LONG-TERM (Solar Ingress) PATTERNS
For the United States, the 12 months beginning January 15, 2019 are dominated by Uranus on IC square Sun on Eastpoint (0°08' wide in RA). Sun-Uranus signals startling events such as surprise attacks, sudden changes in leadership, and technology breakthroughs.
URANUS forecasts explosions (literal or metaphorical), sudden rupture or eruption, shock, surprise, overflowing normal bounds, and revelations. Uranian events often define the character of an era. SUN concentrates attention on the government (especially the head of state) with heightened perception of government’s presence in people’s lives. Sun's aspects to Uranus and Pluto infer rebellion against present leadership and rejection of prevailing political views. Sun-Pluto brings disrespect for the law or those that create or enforce it (which sometimes means removing those in power).
MERCURY CONJOINS SATURN in the foreground. Expect restrictions, delays, failures, or calamity in transportation and communication. Information flow is interrupted or rationed. Data integrity is doubted: cybersecurity remains a higher priority than cyber-expansion. Economic narrowing and backtracking on recovery interrupt commerce. More newspapers and retail close their doors.
Reinforcing the message of economic crisis, MARS square JUPITER exists only mundanely: It is geographically distinctive to Washington. This could be as slight as further government shutdowns or as ravaging as a market crash, but probably will be something between. Resources are squandered, stretched past capacity. Belief-driven aggression accelerates. Bigots have louder voices. In nature, as in human affairs, expect stormy weather.
MERCURY CONJUNCT PLUTO anticipates collisions of information, communication, and ideas. Perhaps opponents in Congress will engage passionately again, unlike the tepid, rigid polarization of recent years. Investigations drill deeply into untapped data to disclose information that reframes how people think. Cyber attacks include remote undermining of critical communication and cyber-control networks.
With Saturn in Sagittarius all year, immigration, aviation, elitism, hierarchical economic separation, and nationalism (anti-internationalism) dominate the public discussion.
Libsolar (Oct 18)
A single aspect dominates the Libsolar: Sun square Pluto. Sun is 0°27' from MC, Pluto 1°00' from EP, and they are square within 0°48' in right ascension.
Although Sun-Pluto themes can range from severe natural disasters to political confrontation, repeated motifs include removal of or assault on those in power, rebellion against prevailing political views, and an element of disrespect for and disobeying the law. In the current political climate, with the prominence of Sun exactly on Midheaven, the most likely expression is surely an effort to topple the United States' current Chief Executive. This is not the only possibility, of course - Sun-Pluto aspects are common for bombs, wars, high-impact national disasters, and anything that circumvents the odds to upend expectation. There is always a theme of law-breaking or operating outside the bounds of conventional behavior.
Additionally, Moon opposes Jupiter (0°34'). This is difficult to reconcile with Sun-Pluto. As it affects the whole world, it may mean an upward surge in markets or a singular diplomatic success of far-reaching importance. Within the U.S. political landscape, I suspect it means cronyism, wherein elitism offers protection and advantage to the few. Moon-Jupiter's most common themes are "our people (nation, group) first!"
MEDIUM-TERM PATTERNS (The Bridge)
SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingress) PATTERNS
Caplunar (Nov 2)
The Caplunar covers November 2-30, especially the first week, November 2-10. Neptune conjoins Midheaven: This is the whole of the chart, except that Saturn, more widely foreground, suggests we will not get the best side of Neptune.
Uncertainty marks the time. Everyone is confused and unsure about what comes next. Facts are obscure or lost in a maelstrom of drama. As the sole Bridge contact of this period is the Cansolar progressed Moon-Mars, the three malefics are the primary descriptors of the time.
CapQ MC squares transiting Sun within 1° all week, keeping attention on Washington and, perhaps, especially on the president. CapQ Dsc crosses Uranus 11/2, springing a surprise or setting something free. 11/5-6, CanQ MC crosses transiting and ingress Saturn (while CanQ Moon is in weeks-long opposition to Mars): these will be days of great severity, perhaps hatred, likely loss (and perhaps loss of life). 11/7-8 are days of the people, especially in herd-like collective response, for both ingress and progressed Moons are on CapQ angles (and transiting Mercury on Q EP keeps cameras on it). Transiting Mars closes on CanQ WP by the end of the week.
Arilunar (Nov 10)
The Arilunar covers November 10-17. Benefics dominate the chart: Jupiter squares Midheaven (0°10') and Venus rises (2°39'); yet Moon opposes Mars (partile), adding a third Mars to the week (the others being the Cansolar's progressed Moon-Mars opposition and Mars' transit of Capsolar MC).
Undoubtedly, there is great contention and conflict, even warring, even bloodying. Threat and harm mark the time. In the dourest interpretation, severity (such as fire) strikes in places of entertainment or attacks are leveled at celebrities or the comfortably idle. (Some of this will surely mark the important news this week.) Yet the louder message is that the nation is fundamentally happy. There is a feeling of rightness and, most likely, of justice. The celebrity parent school admissions scandal may return to the front page, or something else with similar characteristics.
The very strong Jupiter this week and even stronger Jupiter next week suggests courts of law as locales for the week's main events. Jupiter was on lunar ingress angles for each of the two prior presidential impeachments. (Transiting Saturn opposes Sun in the United States' horoscope this week, emphasizing that point.)
Transiting Sun continues to square CapQ MC within 1° all week. 11/11 (Veterans' Day) is perhaps the most critical day of the season with CanQ MC conjunct transiting and ingress Pluto, Asc conjunct ingress Jupiter, and WP conjunct transiting Mars. CapQ Moon (opposed by transiting Sun) is angular 11/12, which places a hot-burning spotlight on that day's happenings in Washington, as if the main act had just entered the center ring. 11/13 CanQ Asc squares the progressed Moon-Mars opposition, bringing all the hostilities, warring, conflict, and sense of emergency to a head.
Canlunar (Nov 17)
The Canlunar covers November 17-23. It resembles the Arilunar, but with less focus on Mars and more on Pluto. Jupiter is 0°01' - a single minute! - from Eastpoint (not only in longitude, as shown in the attached chart, but, most importantly, in RA). Moon opposes Pluto (their closest aspect is in azimuth, where they align along with the prime vertical and are 2°29' from exact aspect).
With a preponderance of benefics angular (plus Jupiter transiting Cansolar angles), people feel good. The market is likely up, for instance (a measurement of confidence). Among Jupiter’s common manifestations are victories, diplomacy, peace, and heightened prosperity, economic expansion, and a spirit of abundance and celebration. Events, if not purely political, economic, or aristocratic, usually center on religion, powerful inspiration, and visionary movements and moments.
These are no ordinary Jupiter times, though. Moon-Pluto signifies that events stun our sensibilities and halt our minds with gripping intensity. Their atypical nature makes them hard to predict. Major examples from the past have included deaths and departures of presidents and kings; uprisings and revolts; populist challenges to prevailing authority; and other staggeringly intense events, pleasant and unpleasant, that unflinchingly hold attention.
CapQ MC continues to square transiting Sun within 1° all week. Transiting Mars remains square CanQ MC from the 18th to the end of the week. A Moon again comes to an angle 11/22.
Liblunar (Nov 23)
The Liblunar covers November 23-30. Events of unusual importance occur because the orbs of angles and aspects are all (except one) partile. Two features lead the rest in importance and connect to each other: Sun is exactly on Descendant and Moon aspects an exact Mars-Uranus opposition.
That this chart covers Thanksgiving week is surprising since it does not seem that the news - including severe, hurtful, combative news - takes a break.
First, Sun is on Descendant (0°17'). The easiest call is that main events center on President Trump. Angular Sun can mean other things, of course, including focus on the government in general, often through regulation, mandatory oversight, and other intervention in people's lives. Here, though, the central event of the Liblunar is described by Sun (its most angular planet), so I expect this week is "all about Trump."
Second, Mars opposes Uranus within about half a degree in eclipto and 0°08' in mundo. Moon conjoins Mars and opposes Uranus, both partile in mundo. (Concurrently, the Cansolar has a progressed Moon-Mars opposition and transiting Mars squares Cansolar Moon November 26-29.) This is volatile and brings unexpected crises, psychological bombshells, raging conflicts of will, and even surprise attacks or startling violence.
Third, these two parts (Sun + Mars-Uranus) are connected. Mars, within 3° of the prime vertical in the west (Vertex), forms a PVP square to Sun: It is the solar figure that is explicitly impacted by the aggression and force of this uninhibited Mars.
Finally, Mercury is on Westpoint (0°34'). It isn't connected to anything else in the chart. I suspect this simply means that, of course, the press will show up and this will be one of their most involved, active weeks of the year.
California gets its nicest ingress in a while, with Venus and Jupiter lines through the Central Coast and parts due north. However, a collision of lines through mid-country looks like trouble: The tight Mars-Uranus opposition rides the horizon from North Dakota to Texas, intersecting Pluto in northeast Texas, Moon in eastern Nebraska, and Saturn on at the border of the two Dakotas (another pipeline rupture?). With Saturn-Pluto penetrated by Mars-Uranus through the Plains States, expect many kinds of trouble there. Mars-Uranus also squares MC through Detroit, mid-Ohio, down through Georgia and western Florida.
CapQ MC still square transiting Sun within 1° all week. Mars squares CanQ MC exactly all week (and its square to Cansolar Moon is exactly on the angles 11/28-29). There may be a break for Thanksgiving after all, though, since Q EP crosses ingress and progressed Venus 11/26-27.

MEDIUM-TERM PATTERNS (The Bridge)
- CanQ Moon opposes Cansolar Mars all month. Worldwide we will see an acceleration of hostilities, friction, communication breakdowns, warring incompatibilities, violence, flood, fire, and a heightened sense of emergency, often accompanied by death. Two short periods late month accelerate this. (It continues until just after Christmas.)
- JUPITER crosses Cansolar angles beginning Nov 11. For the entire period, Jupiter accompanies one or two Marses. Beginning Nov 22, PLUTO joins (on Capsolar EP). Mars-Jupiter periods likely show destruction from extreme weather (storms, etc.) or from religious or ideological zeal. Mars-Jupiter-Pluto is more likely to be political, however, and in Washington (or for the U.S. overall) likely involves judges and courts of law, perhaps including an impeachment trial.
- Concurrent with the Cansolar Moon-Mars progression, transiting MARS conjoins Capsolar MC Nov 11-17 (thus Mars+Pluto transiting Capsolar angles together) and transiting MARS squares Cansolar Moon Nov 26-29. These will be the most volatile, inflammatory, and threatening days of the month - the former limited to the U.S., but the latter inflaming the world.
