Transiting planets in respecting signs

I have tMars in Virgo square my sun partile and I wonder if because mars is in Virgo if it has a Mercury element to the transit as well. I feel it’s a deep mental thing happening

Probably a little, yeah. At the very least, the whole world is feeling and responding to Mars in Virgo. Here's a thread of its effects in the greater world in recent weeks:

I would also expect Mars' transit to your
Sagittarius Sun to have an element (weak) of Mars transiting your Jupiter, since your Sun in Sag acts like a Sun-Jupiter conjunction.
