An over-crowded streetcar was passing over a poorly maintained bridge that gave way. (The bridge connects Victoria and West Victoria.) The streetcar fell through the collapsing bridge into the Upper Harbour, killing 55 men, women, and children of the 143 passengers aboard. Thew time of the event (emphasized as being "exactly") was from a local newspaper, The Daily Colonist, the next day.

This occurred almost to the minute the time of a Full Moon.
