A bridge more than a century old collapsed on a dark, stormy due to 20 years of people removing sand from the base of its support pillars until these lost stability (triggered, perhaps, by prolonged, heavy rainfall). More than 70 died, mostly those on a tour bus and other vehicles passing over the bridge. Strong river currents washed bodies away, one as far as France.

The collapse occurred as an exalted Venus was setting, which makes for a lousy event chart.
