Sagittarius the Cannabisseur

More and more I have come to terms with my love of culture. However I've come to realize that with decriminalization, legalization, and media attention cannabis culture has changed (developed?). As more and more people become stoners even amongst my own friends there seem to be a few who would reject that term for something more elite and eloquent. Words like "cannabisseur"
People who track strains know indica and sativa are mostly marketing scams, people who don't smoke unless they know what they are smoking. Maybe even as far as where it was grown, when it was harvested, and every pair of hands who touched the plant it came from. The best peices money can buy, there is even an appearl coming from stores like zummies and music coming from artists from Snoop Dogg to Ari Lenox and J Cole who also (very likely) are partaking in this high (no pun intended) end cannabis counter culture. As well as a change in the way things are said, ie the use of ganja over weed. Also things like the very intense universal way you purchase amounts of weed. Dime, dub, 1/8th,1/4th,1/2th, ounce (O), pound etc.
While some of these have always been in use, there has been a shift in the air around how these things are said compared to young adults my age than to my 35 year old parents young adult years.
Out if my stoner friends many who have this culture have at least undertones of Jupiter and Sagittarius in their charts. Right now my own chart is the best example I have on hand for someone who is a part of this culture. If this thread isn't shut down I hope to provide more sould charts and examples.
Has anyone else observed this culture, especially in Jupiter or Sagittarius heavy charts? Any comments?

Bougie's not new. People who conspicuously appreciate fine food, cigars, wine, cars, and "the finer things in life" have been around since at least the early Greeks and Romans. OK, not cars or cigars back that far. Probably horses and fish sauce.
I do see why you'd associate it with Sagittarius and Jupiter.

For me,
The modern culture that has shifted to exceptance is based on sound biology.
In our bodies we have specific receptors at the cellular level built to interact with the chemical composition of thc and cbd.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid_receptor
In looking at the fact that astrology has rulerships over other body parts and functions, I have wondered where this newly discovered but obviously anciently evolved system should be placed.
The receptors apparently are mammalian so I would say that all aspects of it are under the influence of the Moon.
Your observations about Jupiter and Saggitarius seem poinent to the culture and social aspects, which may in a persons chart be aspected by Lunar influences. It also may be that those signs are trend followers who push something to tge fore of popularity.
Biologically though I would say its mostly Lunar with the possible influence of Neptune and most definitely Pluto.

The effects of thc on most people do make someone physically plastic (just like the moon is plastic and molding to its environment).
Ironically in my chart Moon sq Pluto sesquisquare jupiter.
The social fore front like you all were saying are represented in charts like Snoop who has heavy libra energy. As well as I cant think of anyone who wasn't famous before they truly started changing or this culture (applying that they are a social person).
I just pulled up Bob Marley's chart. Mars in sagittarius sextile moon (in scorpio) sextile Jupiter (in virgo). Pretty much hits the connections of the biological and social side of smoking even without having the scientific knowledge of thc and cbd we are developing today.

I know exactly what you mean Soft Alpaca with certain refined individual senses. Down in my Southern territory I learned many SSRs ago how important sports psychology was for the Southern culture with Southeastern Conference Football (SEC)-- college football. And then when Astrology grabbed hold of my soul, I soon realized I could take AA rated charts for the frenzy fans in the South and accurately predict with high % the winner and losers of
key SEC football games. The games must be key enough to throw the city fans into an intense psychological frenzy for the winner/loser.
“Without psychology—there is no Astrology.” And then when Jim wrote his analysis on the winners & losers of 50 Super Bowls using Sidereal Mundane Astrology (SMA), I soon realized with the psychology of fans in key championship games for the teams cities, SMA was an accurate predictor of winners & losers 80% of the time, maybe a higher % if you only use angular Saturn symbolism to predict losers which requires much patience.

Indeed! I have definitely observed this 'culture' in a refined individual manner with my Jupiter rising! When Colorado legalized, I spent 5 days in Denver hanging out with local "cannabisseur's"
asking many Virgoian questions and was eventually led to a Budtender (by different locals) in a local weed store who put me exactly onto the certain 'strains' I was looking for, and where/how/prices to get exactly what suited my various psychological tastes---different 'strains' do make a difference-- but you have to be a connoisseur to know the difference—and it helps me being a Virgo to understand certain details to get the various kinds of highs I am looking for.
BTW, the first time I heard the word 'ganja' was 1971 in Negril Jamaica when for a mere role of Kennedy Half Dollars I purchased a grocery bag full of home grown ganja.
Man—those were the DAYS! I spent 4 weeks in a thatched hut on a cliff hanging over the Caribbean at 12$ a week.

As I'm going into culinary myself and being a super taster I found that from anything from wines, to chocolate, to terpenes I have a delicate sense of taste.
Ironically one of my friends said in the circle one night when we were smoking the strain tasted like Lo Mein. I said to him what it likely was is a terpene called caryophyllene, a terpene found in black pepper, cinnamon, and cloves... 3 out of the very well known Chinese 5 spice mixture. When I looked at the strain terpene list caryophyllene was the second strongest terpene only having one other slightly more prevalent.
And Steve you could probably never find ganja like that today, if so very rarely. While America was breeding for strong pungent dieselly skunky "loud" weeds in the 70s, the island people in jamaica had already been breeding for flavor and effects for who knows how long.

I haven’t observed this culture. I smoked allot in high school and college. Most of the major stoners weren’t Sag signs. It was mixed signage.

I don't think he is talking about stoners. He seems to be talking about epicures. In that sense, it's no different than people trained and experienced in deep appreciation and understanding of wine vs. people who just drink wine. There's a deep culture about the matter.

Also a lot of poseurs. Hard to tell if he meant one or the other. But I think either can easily fit Sagittarius.

Jim hit the spot on what I was getting at. My apologies for the confusion.

Okay. Well I have Sagittarius sun so I thought I’d comment. My answer is still the same as to I haven’t experienced it myself. And I still don’t understand exactly what the question is. I know what an epicure is.
Maybe Steve is talking about social ness and quality linked to Sagittarius and /or social acceptance/politics/economics of a once considered illegal gateway drug.
Like a professional position? Like a wine drunk vs wine steward (certified wine specialist)?

Yes, indeed James! More so with the quality of cannabis (strains) I take at times; for sex, for enjoying music at a great concert and still being able to focus well driving, for getting really stoned listening to my music in my office with surround sound, for getting stoned (but not driving or moving about) and laughing with my friends about the old times. I have different strains for different occasions. I think it's my Natal Jupiter rising which is always seeking the best with anything; but, particularly with different strains to choose from. It takes a well informed expert, usually a pro Budtender in a legalized state to know the difference with strains who earns good tips for their strains knowledge.

Legal pot In Illinois January 2020 is about an hour from me. My friend Matt moved to Denver a few back and works for a pot company. He was born December 14 1984. I don’t know what time. He has moon in Leo and Mars in Capricorn. His sun is most likely Scorpio not Sagittarius. But he is not like like his double Scorpio brother.
My younger brother has Jupiter rising but also Saturn and Uranus. Virgo-Aries
I can see Sagittarius and Jupiter heavy people being more picky about the way they get high and how often.
