I started having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in early February, 2007. I'm aware Pluto transited my Sun during this time. From early February 2007 to mid August 2011, my OCD would bother me about astrology: people's birthdays and common stereotypes (which by nature tend to be false). Each summer I would go through a mini breakdown since no schoolwork meant an idle mind, meaning I could be bothered a lot, and I broke down in tears at least once each summer. But that pattern ended since early November 2011 since I started seeing my therapist.
From mid August 2011 to mid July 2016, my OCD shifted focus, usually bothering me about issues about feminism, sexism, and racism. It would sometimes still bother me about astrology. From mid July 2016 my OCD seems to be at its lowest state. Years of therapy helped decrease it, but now I seemed to have gained new confidence and ways of functioning in the world.
Any insights from astrology to explain these events? I could upload a synestry of me and my therapist's charts for help.

Hi Jove,
my take is that your having seven planets in Sagittarius inclusive of your luminaries may be responsible for being vulnerable to OCD?
From what I have learned here is that Sag can be judgemental, especially the Sag Moon and ultimately against the self for feeling never good enough, never clever enough, to the point of obsession. (Aries-Leo-Sagittarius triplicity)
Perhaps it would be beneficial for you to find a support system, for example a coach for the long run who will remind you often not to be too hard on yourself so as this would diminish the OCD traits? Someone who puts things in perspective for you and talks things through with you without being judgemental. Or perhaps your therapist can fulfill this role in the long run as well.
Best wishes,
Florence

As you indicate, OCD is inherently chronic and persistent and, with therapy, can be brought more under control and even reduced completely. (It moves from a "disorder" condition to just character traits, some of which are quite positive such as conscientiousness and attention to detail).
You seem to be saying that it was symptomatic as recently as July, and now seems to be under your control. Am I understanding that correctly?
The main astrological patterns that recently came to a peak (and are still following through) are Pluto's conjunction with your Neptune and then, even more importantly, your Moon. This can be obsessive by itself, but generally (between the time it first starts and last ends) is deeply purging and reforming of the deep psyche. What a fabulous time for therapy, and for reshaping your psyche intentionally!
As for renewed confidence, progressed Moon is in orb (still applying, but within a degree) of conjunct your Sun. This should especially give about two months of heightened confidence and charisma.

Just keep on with what you're doing. You are doing fine. Your therapist has you on the right path, and while it may seem to be going slowly, it's working, so let it. I know you're impatient to be done with it, but being impatient can actually will slow you down, so try to put it aside if you can.

Basically notice any thoughts you have positive, negative and in between. Notice any specifically for or against OCD. Any about the term. Any thoughts. Some may be from the past. Some maybe from the future. Only keep present. Remain aware of the moment. Become aware when thoughts happens and just see it for what it is, a thought.
We are not thoughts. We are not other peoples thoughts. Thoughts just enter us like the clouds entering the sky. We don't think we are clouds, so we do not think we are thoughts. Notice the clouds fade away, notice your thoughts fade away.
We are all on the OCD spectrum. Some of us behave in ways that bring more negativity. Some may have been diagnosed. We are not diagnosis. We are not diagnosis. You are not OCD. We just are. We don't introduce ourselves as diagnosis; "Hello, nice to meet you., my name is OCD." "Tell me about yourself" Say- a doctor diagnosed me with OCD. Do not say, I am OCD.
When we aren't happy with our way of living, it is not because of a behavioral problem. Diagnosis is not the cause of your thinking, emotions or actions. Look closer to inside the behavioral obstacle. Break down the barrier to see into the other side.
