Flash floods July 19-20, 1996 in the Saquenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec. Ten people died. Damages were $1.5 million Canadian. Canada's "biggest overland flood" in the 20th Century.
Two weeks of "constant rain." filled rivers and reservoirs and saturated the soil. "In two days, rainfall accumulated that was equivalent to the volume of water that tumbles over Niagara Falls in four weeks."
I suggest using 0:00 between the two days, although it sounds like the effect was already very strong on the first day.
