Three Accidental Shootings at Gun Shows Today

This afternoon, Jan 19, 2013, three guns were accidentally discharged at different gun shows, one in Raleigh, NC, one in Medina, OH, and one in Indianapolis, IN.

In Raleigh, a man hoping to sell his shotgun was unzipping the case when the 12 gauge, loaded with bird shot, went off. Three people, including a deputy sheriff, were hit, but not badly hurt.

In Medina, a dealer was examining a gun he'd just bought and accidentally pulled the trigger. Although the magazine was removed, there was a bullet left in the chamber (aka treat every gun as if it's loaded, even if you know it isn't...) His partner was hit in the arm and leg by pieces of the bullet which originally hit the floor, but he was not badly hurt.

In Indianapolis, a man loading his new gun shot himself in the hand. Not sure how badly he was hurt, but it wasn't life threatening.

The Raleigh accident occurred shortly after 1PM according to news reports at the State Fair Grounds, 35° 47' 41.28" N. -78° 42' 34.5594" W Don't have times for the other accidents.

There weren't any transiting aspects today (planet to planet in space) that would seem to relate to this.

These locations do have something in common, but it doesn't seem relevant. The line for Mercury on the Descendant in the Capsolar passes just north of Indianapolis, through the southwestern tip of Ohio, and through the Carolinas. It was surely very close to the angles in all three locations. But Mercury makes no sense for the events, and the only transits to that degree was transiting Chiron by semi-square. I'm not persuaded.

Ah, but the Arilunar that just occured had Saturn rising for Raleigh. (I'd hope for Mars, but Saturn catches my attention.) Dng it, though, the Saturn line angles the other direction, nowhere near Ohio or Indiana.

And the Caplunar isn't any better.

Very interesting... but I can't find anything that tracks it.

Saturday was "National Gun Appreciation Day" which was quickly organized after Pres. Obama's address on gun control along the lines of "National Chik-Fil-A Appreciation Day" although all of the gun shows had been planned long before the event and weren't really part of it.

My mother used to say something... "Lots of fun. Nobody killed." And that's how these three events seem related to me. Lots of scuffle and confusion, lots of media attention, a bit of irony provoking a wry giggle or snicker, but nobody badly hurt (that I know of.) That feels mercurial to me.

So, you're saying:

1. As a national gun-related day, more gun-related news was expected
2. Broadly, this wasn't a big event - just a curio
3. So it was a news event only, and a curiosity

Yeah, I think Mercury says it :D
