Assagioli, Roberto. February 27, 1888, 12:00 PM (Rome Time), Venice, Italy (AA).
What a wonderful example of the Aqu – Leo axis luminaries!
He developed the concept of Psychosynthesis, psychoanalysis’ counterpart which dared to propose this radical notion of necessity to take into consideration the wholeness (note the Sun angular) of human being!
… it’s interesting how more often than not he’s not mentioned alongside Freud & Jung, two Rim Suns, although Assagioli himself, double-Hub Luminary, has touched the central core (that Freud missed, while Jung’s approach is still considered to be on the fringes of scientific community) with both depth and balance hitting-the-target of
Wholeness as aim, and proposing the approach that comes from understanding each of us: are a unique, whole-in-itself-individual, and are being/existing-as inter-connected; [he used an analogy to the organs in the body, and the functionality of this diversity within the unity of the whole]; the idea of the Psychosynthesis so beautifully includes in itself both this Leonian and Aquarian side of the axis.
The wiki-quote of Assagioli's own words on difference between his concept of Psychosynthesis and Freud's and Jung's work illustrates this well, so I'll convey it here:
In the December 1974 issue of Psychology Today,[4] Assagioli was interviewed by Sam Keen, in which Assagioli discussed the differences between Freudian psychoanalysis and psychosynthesis:
We pay far more attention to the higher unconscious and to the development of the transpersonal self. In one of his letters Freud said, "I am interested only in the basement of the human being." Psychosynthesis is interested in the whole building. We try to build an elevator which will allow a person access to every level of his personality. After all, a building with only a basement is very limited. We want to open up the terrace where you can sun-bathe or look at the stars. Our concern is the synthesis of all areas of the personality. That means psychosynthesis is holistic, global and inclusive. It is not against psychoanalysis or even behavior modification but it insists that the needs for meaning, for higher values, for a spiritual life, are as real as biological or social needs. We deny that there are any isolated human problems.
Assagioli noted that Carl Jung, "of all modern psychotherapists, is the closest in theory and practice to psychosynthesis",[4] and further expanded on the similarities between his own and Jung's views:
In the practice of therapy we both agree in rejecting ‘pathologism’ that is, concentration upon morbid manifestations and symptoms of a supposed psychological ‘disease’. We regard man as a fundamentally healthy organism in which there may be temporary malfunctioning. Nature is always trying to re-establish harmony, and within the psyche the principle of synthesis is dominant. Irreconcilable opposites do not exist. The task of therapy is to aid the individual in transforming the personality and integrating apparent contradictions. Both Jung and myself have stressed the need for a person to develop the higher psychic functions, the spiritual dimension.
At this link is an interesting and easy-to-read interview with him:

----- Chart analysis -----
Sun is in Aquarius, Moon in Leo
Mars in Libra
Angular, by order of rob:
Ju (sq MC on W 44’)
Su (on MC 5*39’)
Mo (on IC 6*54’)
Closest (under 1*) aspects in the chart:
Sun opp Moon 26’
Ma sq Sa 32’
Me oct Ve 53’
Luminary aspects, listed by orb:
The
Sun in Aqu is
sq Ju 2*50’, alongside that tight oppos. with the Moon.
The
Moon, which is in Leo, is toned by its aspect relationship with: Sun, Jupiter and Pluto, in order of orb (
opp Sun 26’,
sq Ju 2*24’,
sq Pl 4*49’) – consider this sheds light on how the basic subconsciousness mechanisms of psyche tend to operate, hence basis of all mental faculties (how the attention moves/operates/abides, etc), alongside other things!
There’re two large dynamic structures in the chart that stand out:
the Su-Mo-Ju (-Pl) and the (Cap) Ve-Ma-sa T-square.
If I didn’t know anything about this person’s life/bio, I’d be intrigued about how did they bring about and manifest, through their personality and life, the dynamic of this, on one side, easily-expressed strong cluster of Lights and Jupiter, and on the other, the away-from-angles yet also strong dynamism of Ma-Sa (partile) which is interlocked with the affection-needs (Ve).
