There are reports on Twitter of an explosion in Boston near where the marathon finish line. Reports say 20 - 30 people injured. Reports started about 9 minutes ago current time is 3:08 PM eastern, Mon Apr 15, 2013.

Finish line is at the Boston Library, Coordinates 42°20′57.55″N 71°4′41.78″W

Running the numbers on this...

Capsolar: Nothing distinctive for Boston, or transits to the angles.

Arisolar: Saturn on the IC * (partile by ecliptic, within 2° in mundo).

Caplunar: Moon square horizon partile. By transit, today's exact Sun-Mars conjunction in the second degree of Aries is already past both the Caplunar Descendant and the square to the Moon, so not really showing a clean hit.

Arilunar: Nothing close enough to remark (though the planets medium-close are the right ones).

Q2 Capsolar: Nothing close. The only showing, in fact - very mild and not distinctive to Boston - is SQ Moon trine Saturn.

What is interesting is that there is no Neptune - a mark of public hysteria - so this doesn't appear to be a "flash and bang, getting people stirred up" event only. There is some damage involved, if the Arisolar is to be trusted. But it doesn't look like a major event.

Boston Police say 2 dead, 22 injured. There were limbs lost, and blood visible in helicopter shots.

You may remember that the Oklahoma City bombing, though showing in smaller ways in Oklahoma City, was, from astrology's point of view, a Washington, DC event. The impact was primarily political. One of mundane astrology's big juggling acts has been the question of when something is a local event vs. a national event. Big things tend to show in the nation's capital primarily, with other (usually lesser) factors localizing it to a specific spot in the country.

I'll give the workup for DC shortly (or as soon as I have time, if the morning suddenly gets jammed).

The event itself did have Neptune setting (less than 2° above the Descendant). Though only showing the immediate period of a few minutes, it does indicate excitement, hysteria, confusion. - This was also the day of a Sun-Mars conjunction in Aries, only 30' wide at the time of the event, and with the Moon having slid around to sextile the two of them at the time of the explosion. Between the athletic event and the bloody damage and death, it was Sun conjunct Mars in Aries that marked the event.

CAPSOLAR: The current Capsolar for DC has Sun near the Descendant and, especially, Pluto exactly on the Westpoint. This isn't unusual - it's a recurring event - yet still, it's the main characteristic of the chart.

The DC Capsolar Ascendant was 2°31' Cancer, and transiting Mars had reached 1°32' Aries, just within 1° of the Zenith (square the Ascendant). Transits to Capsolar angles are the second most important factor in timing mundane events. That is, they are outranked (and even contradicted, if the planets are of divergent natures) by transits to the Capsolar SQ angles.

At the time of the initial explosions, here is the Capsolar SQ picture for Washington, DC:

I. Pluto 14°53' Sagittarius
SQ MC 15°46' Gemini
t. Pluto 16°39' Sagittarius

Considering that Bradley's original research on Sidereal solar and lunar ingresses disclosed the single strongest timing event to be a transit to a Capsolar SQ angle, it is remarkable that t. Uranus was 0°06' from the SQ Descendant and t. Pluto 0°53' from the SQ IC when this event occurred.

These are the characteristics of revolutionary ideas. I had hoped for something revolutionary from Congress this week, but the nature of the event seems to have been a revolutionary attack on the U.S. government. I now think that this is how the event will eventually shake out when the facts are known.

Regardless: Uranus-Pluto shows the explosion and large-scale human damage, though there was little actual loss of life.

Capsolar SQ Moon at 15°09' Aquarius semi-squared both ingress and SQ Suns (the latter being 0°15' Capricorn).

CAPLUNAR: The current Caplunar for Washington has Moon on the IC square Mars setting. (Sun-Venus-Mars setting, but Mars is the closest.) It meets the basic requirements, but isn't a stand-out chart. The Capsolar, its transits, and its progressions described the event all by itself.

The April 10 Arilunar for DC had Saturn 0°07' from square the Ascendant.

FURTHER ON CANSOLAR PROGRESSIONS: The progressed Canlunar does have one aspect I've been watching that is worrisome - and that fits this event.
