December 2, 1942, 3:25 PM CST, Chicago, IL
The dawn of the Atomic Age arguably began with the first self-sustaining chain reaction, which was created in Chicago at the above date and time. Almost from beginning to end, the event was driven by Mars!
Other published versions of this chart lists the time as Central War Time - that's what Chicago was on at the time, In Spica, Vol. X, No. 1, Brigadier Firebrace wrote that he''d learned that the university where this work was performed was not on War Time. He published a letter from the London Daily Express foreign desk confirming that the Atomic Energy Commission gave the exact time as 3:25 PM and that this was 9>25 PM GMT - no war time observed.
At the time of the first self-sustaining chain reaction, Moon conjoined Neptune within 0°25'. Mars in Libra was 2°01' below Descendant.
In Chicago's CAPSOLAR that year, Mars in Aries was 0°34' below Ascendant.
In the LIBSOLAR for the quarter, Mars is 0°08' below Descendant with Venus 0°59' below and Sun 1°04' above.
In Chicago's CAPLUNAR for that month, Uranus takes the honors instead, being 2°52' from MC. The Canlunar was dormant but the ARILUNAR had Saturn 1°23' from Asc.
The Capsolar quotidian and transits were dormant, but, in the CANSOLAR QUOTIDIAN, we find:
26°07' Cancer - CanQ Asc
26°33' Cancer - Cansolar Mars
27°09' Libra - t Mars
