Arisolar Events, an incomplete list

During a discussion of the Boston Marathon Bombing, Mon Apr 15, 2013 about 3 PM,
Finish line at the Boston Library, Coordinates 42°20′57.55″N 71°4′41.78″W...

April 19 1775 First battles of US War of Independence @ Lexington & Concord & midnight ride of Paul Revere
April 19 1993 end of Waco
April 19 1995 Oklahoma City
April 20 1999 Columbine
April 16 2007 Virginia Tech
April 15 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing

Columbine and OKC were supposedly in memorium of Waco. Is there a common astrological basis to memorial events?

If they aren't spread too far across a century or so, they have the Sun in the same degree. And all of these are in the immediate aftermath of the Arisolar ingress - Would you like to set up the Arisolars for each of these and see if they were the trigger event? (It's usually a pretty weak ingress.)

And, besides being an ingress (with its own characteristics), mid-April is simply the time that the Sun enters Aries. Sun in Aries events would be expected to be a bit more common. This is an area I've never seen explored in mundane astrology, and it should be easy enough to affirm or deny: Do major mass-mind trends group throughout the year according to Sun-sign.

Added VA Tech.

I'd like to set up the Arisolars and relevant lunars & progressions but its not fun or easy. I don't have solar fire. Is there something less expensive that would work as well? Computer platform not a barrier.

As I have time, I'll do the Arisolars. (I'm considering that this should be the one factor checked - not a study of the events, but an examination of whether just-after-Arisolar events actually relate to the Arisolar.) If you provide a list of event name, date (and time if you have it), and city, I'll do the rest - it will be fast.

Thanks. See below.

Still want my own software so I can do it myself. (BTW, There's no "pouty baby" smilie either.)

PRELIMINARY CONCLUSION: In a majority of cases, the Arisolar for Washington, DC showed the significant violent events occurring in the days immediately following the Arisolar. However, in 3 out of 8 of these events (just over one-third), it was not sufficient.

SECOND PRELIMINARY CONCLUSION: In most cases (but not invariably), the Arilunar for the location of the event was better than the one for DC. Some of the exceptions are puzzling, e.g., the Fox Islands quake (which should surely be a local event) and the Columbine shooting (which had profound local impact in addition to the national impact).

There isn't a lot of variance in the scores of various things tested, but there is some variance we can check.

Here are the average scores for these 13 events:

For the Arisolar, the DC ingresses had a score of 3.4, and the local (event site) Arisolar 4.0. Although there were some great charts for DC, the average was too low. The location Arisolar hit higher.

For the Capsolar at DC, the ingress itself got 3.8, transits to the ingress angles 3.8, and the Q2 4.3. In fact, the Q2 of the Washington, DC Capsolar was the most significant single factor of everything examined.

For the Capsolar at event locale, the ingress itself got 3.8, transits to the ingress 3.5, and Q2 3.7.

Overall, there were two real stand-outs. One was the Arisolar for event location - it seemed to zoom in better, whereas the Capsolar was broader and worked best from the nation's capital. Second, the Capsolar Q2 for Washington was well above the rest.

Two events had an overall poorer showing than the rest. These were the Waco siege and the Texas City disaster. What startles me about Waco is that the worst-performing chart was the Arisolar for DC; however, these charts suggest that, overall, the DC Arisolar isn't nearly as effective as the DC Capsolar or the location Arisolar. Waco had OK Capsolar variants, but the best was the locale Arisolar.

The other poor-showing event was the Texas City disaster. Again, the DC Arisolar was quite poor, and the local Arisolar was exceptional. The rest of the charts were mediocre except for the Q2 Capsolar for DC.

The single best-scoring event was Lincoln's death (where the local and DC charts were the same). Besides that, Next best were Bay of Pigs, CSA Siege, and Oklahoma City Bombing.

For Lincoln, everything scored well, though all Capsolar techniques outranked the Arisolar

Very interesting Jim! Do you think this particular analysis is an abnormality for Quotidian hits?

No. It's exactly what Bradley found in the original, that the Q2 of the Capsolar was THE defining marker in most cases.

I like the word exactly. Did Bradley ever specifically define certain parameters within a Capsolar itself (maybe in an AA article), which would help us to KNOW when a Q2 Day would be THE ‘defining marker’ for a Capsolar year? If not, would I use the same guidelines you taught in ISR to possibly help define a Q2 marker for a Capsolar before the actual event? Or, when you have time, would you post a condensed set of parameters from your mind which could possibly help us to identify beforehand important Q2 Days for an Ingress Chart and/or a SSR?

Nope. And, in fact, the Capsolar itself quite commonly doesn't show the event - only its transits and progressions.

Bradley, in the late '60s in an article in an AA yearbook, did suggest that all of the angular crossings should be watched.

Or, when you have time, would you post a condensed set of parameters from your mind which could possibly help us to identify beforehand important Q2 Days for an Ingress Chart and/or a SSR?
I don't think we can filter like that. We have to watch them all. I've not seen that they "filter down" in the fashion of personal charts.

I do have a list here on the forum of isolated astrological events throughout the year that I think bear watching. This was an attempt to focus the task a bit. But it's just a start:

Right now, we're in the exact Mars-Pluto progressed square of the Cansolar. This has lasted a few weeks. Next up: Tomorrow Neptune exactly squares the Cansolar MC for DC.

I wonder whether we should factor in that some of these events were intended (in some cases, alleged) to coincide with an anniversary. E.g., The Boston Marathon with the Battle of Lexington & Concord, and the Columbine shootings with Hitler's Birthday. The OKC bombing was intended to mark the Waco, TX action, and who knows whether that was itself intended as an anniversary event? Just thinking out loud here: if we could trace the root event being perversely commemorated, would that chart show activation by transits and progressions?

I have posted a more refined, careful version of this study here: http://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=494

It supersedes my remarks above.
