Democratic primary results

by Jupiter Sets at Dawn
The primaries in DC, IN, MD, MT, NM, PA, RI and SD were held on June 2.
On June 5, Joe Biden officially became the Democratic nominee, with 2,011 delegates. (1,991 needed.)
He does not need Bernie Sanders to throw his 1,047 delegates his way, so will not need to include Sanders agenda in the platform.
Unemployment rate mistake

The Bureau of Labor Statistics made a mistake, and misclassified people on furlow. The jobless rate was actually 16%, not 13%. The jobless rate went down for whites and Hispanics, but rose for blacks and Asians.
Cristobal

by Jupiter Sets at Dawn
The National Hurricane Center said Cristobal made landfall along the coast of southeastern Louisiana between the mouth of the Mississippi River and Grand Isle at 5 p.m. CDT Sunday evening. Maximum sustained winds at the time were estimated near 50 mph.
This is expected to be a rainfall event (12 inches an hour reported on the coast) with storm surge and maybe tornados. Rain from it is expected to be here (in Omaha) by Tuesday.
This is the earliest, or maybe second earliest named storm to come ashore in Louisiana since records have been kept.
China liquified gas explosion

https://news.cgtn.com/news/2020-06-13/O ... yA8drFrZsA
According to CGTN, "A truck transporting liquefied gas caught fire and exploded on an expressway in Taizhou city, east China's Zhejiang Province, causing chaos and injuries."
"At least ten people were killed and 117 others were injured, with some trapped inside a collapsed house, according to local authorities." (They're still digging.) Surrounding buildings were destroyed, of course. It was a huge fire that pulled 34 fire engines, 450 firefighters, and 138 commanders to the site.
Teller Report listed it as, "on the highway near Liangshan Village, Daxi Town, Wenling City, G15 Shenhai Expressway." Wenling is in the municipal region of Taizhou, explaining other references to this occurring in Taizhou. I've found Liangshan Village on a map, on the outskirts of Wenling, exactly on the G15
aka Shenhai Expressway. Screwing around with this on Google Earth, it seems to be at 28N28'38" 121E14'31". I don't know exactly where the explosion occurred but the "Liangshan Village" designation is quite small so I'm going to treat this as 28N29 121E15 unless Wikipedia or someone gives more exact positioning in the future.
This is (broadly) in the same region where the 2019 coronavirus broke out. The Cansolar has been playing hell with that area, and continues to show its tragic effect for this event.

However, it is explicitly Jupiter + Pluto which shows the economic damage that surely will pile up, so I'm not too disappointed. Another gas tank explosion the same day - this time in Russia, not China (and with even fewer deaths). One death, three injuries when a liquefied gas storage tank exploded. The fire is now contained (as of 10:40 AM Moscow time).
Fire was reported at 9:56 PM (6:56 PM GMT). Tass gave the similar (but less precise) 10:00 PM time. I've been able to confirm from an Indian news agency that the fire was subsequent to the explosion, not the cause of it, so 9:56 PM (the
report time) might be the best time we can get.

Supreme Court 6-3 says LGBT covered under Civil RIghts Act of 1964

The Supreme Court says Federal Discrimination Laws protect LGBTQ people. Gorsuch wrote the opinion.
Announced about 10:20 AM Washington DC
Roberts and Gorsuch joined the four conservative justices in the majority opinion. Based on the word "sex" in the original law, and says discrimination based on being gay is on the basis of sex.

Yes, I've been watching these flow in. So far, this morning is a golden morning for civil rights and a series of hard blows to the Trump administration. I'm eager to read about all of these.
You didn't mention the biggest one, the case everyone has been watching all year: They affirmed that existing civil rights laws protect LGBTQ workers: Discrimination against gay or trans employees is already prohibited as included under protections based on "sex," which surely was not contemplated in the original law. And this came from a conservative court! This decision has cascading implications that people can't expect at the moment, and stands to remap the national social contract.

I agree this is a huge deal for our society.
Gorsuch is a textualist. He reads the actual text written in the law, ignoring the underlying intent.

Oops. Yes. Missed it (my eyes only landed on the second one).
No time to work this up in detail now, but a few quick things:
In the monthly U.S. forecast, this period is in the Bridge zone of transiting
Jupiter conjunct Capsolar MC, common for civil rights pushes and victories (which possibility, however, was not caught in the forecast). More interesting is the current lunar ingress - still the Liblunar June 2 - for which I wrote, "...this is the month that
everything changes. Let nothing surprise you because
everything is likely to surprise you, even in the always-surprising conditions to which we have become accustomed. Moon-Uranus especially means adaptation and reorientation to shifting circumstances," etc. The paragraph ends mentioning
inter alia "demands for freedom, social change, and populist arousal." This paragraph refers to many things, but today's decisions are certainly part of it!

North Korea bombed South Korea

“We confirm that NK demolished the inter-Korean liaison office in Gaesong Industrial Complex by bombing at 14:49 KST (01:49 ET)," a spokesperson from South Korea’s Unification Ministry said. That was Tuesday afternoon Korean local time on June 16, 2020.
It appears to have been an attention-seeking act. The talks with the US have been deadlocked and Trump is busy doing other stuff. It also appears to have been ordered by Kim's sister who is trying to show how "tough" she is. The ostensible reason is the Unification Ministry hadn't stopped pamphlets from getting across the border.

Trump's rally in Tulsa OK began when Trump took the stage at 7:13 PM and said this is the beginning of his campaign.
The arena is not full. Protesters tried to block one of the entrances, but police kept it open. The other entrances were not blocked. People could have got in. They didn't come. It's a 20,000 person venue, but it's not even half full.
Huh.

I think this is the event I read about where a league of teenagers reserved most of the seats with no intention of going, just to keep the turn-out low. Sounds like it worked! People close to Trump are saying he was devastated.

I think it wrong to think of a Mars-Neptune conjunction partile square his Moon, since Neptune isn't partile square his Moon.
Yes, he has Mars partile square his Moon, and he has a partile Mars-Neptune conjunction - two separate aspects. Over the years I've become completely disenchanted with "translation of light." The aspect doesn't carry across like that. Those aspects by themselves are physically and psychologically toxic, hurling his emotional outbursts into higher gear and seriously threatening his health and safety.
It does feel like a Moon-Neptune moment, though. I think this isn't Neptune's (background, non-partile) square to his Moon, but the always-important Moon aspects: SSR Moon opposes natal Neptune!

KPop fans and it spread to TikTok. But there were more than a million tickets issued, nobody who wanted a ticket was turned down, and nobody who wanted to get in and had a ticket was turned away. Trump's people set up overflow areas, but dismantled them well before the end of the rally since they were empty. I don't think the KPop fans are the (entire) reason nobody showed up.

June 27, 2020, "night," Louisville, KY
At a Breanna Taylor protest (man shooting into a crowd) resulted in one death and several injuries. So far, the best time I have is "Saturday night." *I'll use 7 PM as an estimate.)
The shooter was a photographer who had attended several of the protests, was disruptive at them, and had been asked to leave.
Louisville, it turns out, was an area tightly identified by the solar ingress as setup for tragedy. Then the only operative lunar ingress picked the fortnight easily with both general toxicity and hysteria and the specific indications of most mass shootings (a three-axis aspect cluster of Venus square Mars-Neptune (all closely angular), and all three of them square Pluto. - Then the day kind of peters out with nothing decisive (a couple of angular Moons that, at most, show the mass gathering event).

A shooting broke out at the Pakistani stock exchange today "around 10 AM" (NYT) (trading opened at 9:30). Wikipedia already has a page on it that gives 10:02 AM, so I might as well go with that unless something else shows up.
At least five people are dead (some of them cops), by one report; other reports are now starting to say only 3, and that they were all cops. Seven others were injured.
We're still learning most of the details. We know there were four assailants who started by throwing a hand grenade at the front door then "started firing indiscriminately" (CNN) with automatic rifles. A group called the Balochitan Liberation Army has claimed credit
NOTE - News is now that all four attackers have been killed, so total deaths is 7.
PVP aspects (a bunch of azimuth conjunctions exactly on the Vertex) give life to an otherwise drab Arisolar. (Moon and Mars were just slightly farther away, Pluto and Saturn a bit beyond that, so possibly these orbs eventually should be stretched; for now, I'm staying inside the original research on PVP aspects.) Also, as Jupiter-Pluto comes back, we get a new wave of ideological terrorism. All the active charts are strong, with CapQ MC on Mars bringing the event home to the day.

State of Montana program that gave tax credits to people who donated scholarships.
Montana said no tax credits for scholarships to religious schools according to their constitution.
SCOTUS threw that out and allowed the tax credits. These scholarships were not to religious schools but to students whose parents chose to use the money to send the to religious schools.
This is going to affect a lot of programs in more than a dozen states.
SCOTUS ruled if you add ".com" to a common term, you can trademark it.

I'm not sure I understand... but I'll probably see an article soon (when I get some time).
If I'm understanding you correctly, the parents were giving their own kids scholarships, i.e., paying for their kids' education and calling it scholarships? Is that what was going on? What moist people call "paying the kids' tuition"?
As long as this is OK for both religions and non-religious schools, I have no problem with it. (I've always thought there should be partial or total tax breaks for paying college tuition.)

No. The parents were deciding which schools their children would attend and paying the money from the scholarships to those schools. The donors were just giving money for scholarships to children who would be attending private schools. They didn't choose which schools got the money.
So donor gives money for scholarship -> parent chooses school -> money goes to school, some of which were religious schools -> donor gets tax credit for donation.

I think that sounds right... sorting it out.
The two articles I've seen have didn't mention anything about private donations. They explained it like this: State grants that are allowed to go to private schools had been blocked (historically) from going to religious private schools under Montana's constitution (I think under the premise that division of church and state required that state-originated funds not go to religious institutions). However, the Supreme Court ruled that depriving only religious schools of access to the funds was an unconstitutional bias against religious institutions.
I haven't seen anything yet on the issue of donors... will keep looking as time and eyes allow this morning. (I do try to read as little as possible at the moment.)
It's quite interesting that this decision came down after Jupiter retrograded into Sagittarius - the Sagittarian themes are all over it (church, academia, and courts, for starters) - and especially as Jupiter conjoins Pluto (which was exact yesterday).
PS - I should add that justice requires the equal application of the same principle in all situations (unless there is a distinction that makes them different). Specifically, the same church-state separation that previously said state funds cannot be spent to pay for education at a religious institution is also the basis of the long-standing laws that state funds cannot be spent to pay for abortion clinics because they are against many people's religion. That is, on the school situation, one group of tax payers wouldn't want public money spent a certain way because of their religious views; on the abortion clinic situation, a different group of tax payers wouldn't want public money spent a different way because of their religious views. If the high court is now going to take an expansive view of the First Amendment - religious freedom based on no government distinction between one religion and another, or between religion and non-religion - then it has to apply to both scenarios equally IMHO.

I think the basis here was somebody was getting tax credits for donating money that went to pay for religious school. It's confusing, and I could easily be wrong about who was getting the tax credits.
I don't see this case being applied to reproductive rights, but I'd be pleased if it were. Maybe grants that pay for pills or devices?
