USA Mundane Forecast §§§ The Biden Report §§§ Other Locations §§§ Ingress Summaries §§§ Transits to Capsolar Planets §§§ Outer Planet Sign Transits

LONG-TERM (Solar Ingresses)
Capsolar effective Jan 14, 2021 to Jan 14, 2022. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Jan 13-Feb 9 forecast.)
  • More severe than 2020, but a year of action instead of paralysis.
  • Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn continues to define conditions, emphasizing autonomous survival and solitary self-sufficiency.
  • MARS square SATURN (0°34', exactly angular). Harsh, hateful, hurtful, destructive hardship, e.g., deadly violence, fires, explosions, financial crises. Fosters hate + conflict arising from feeling powerless, shamed, diminished: Primitives competing for basic survival amidst widespread hardship.
  • JUPITER square URANUS (0°42'). Recovery and salvation through scientific advances and social revolution. Collective optimism anticipating good change. Broadly, boldly liberal government or political activism: Ideological rebellion, remapping the larger social contract, liberal social agendas (demanding wider horizons, expanded and diversified opportunity, civil liberties). Invention, futurism, new tech (or tech vision), and “good science” engage imagination. (Uncommon for disasters except floods.)
  • Activity and activism, rarely gentle or well-behaved.
  • Mars-Uranus. Explosive: physical or psychological "bombshells," surprise attack, sudden action, "lightning war" (blitzkrieg). Moon-Uranus. Swiftly changing circumstances requiring rapid adaptation and response. Moon-Mars. A broad sense of emergency: Violence, fire, disaster, damage, assassination (or other severe crisis for leaders).
  • Economic difficulties: Economic crisis and threatened markets (Jupiter to Mars-Saturn). Shifting conditions in banking and economic management (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn). The upside: We surely need to consume significant resources for economic recovery.
  • Structural investment. Rebuilding economic foundations and physical infrastructure.
  • Spinning up the wheels of industry, economic expansion: Greater industry and productivity (from the same aspects).
  • Mars-Jupiter is stormy (including destructive weather). Forward momentum, expansive, with an enterprising spirit useful to recovery. Post-pandemic era of opportunity for new entrepreneurs, renewed entrepreneurial spirit, readily available capital investment.
Arisolar (Apr 14)
Effective Apr 14 to Oct 18. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Apr 5-May 2 forecast.)
  • Jupiter on Dsc (0°38'), sq. Moon (1°37'). The best six months of the year. Increased prosperity overall: Return to work, a stabilizing economy, increased optimism and sense of well-being. Communities feel stronger, more secure. More good news than bad across the six months.
  • Saturn on WP (1°17). Survival challenges continue concurrent with emerging good news. Seriously rough times overlap the sense that things are improving. "Getting better" is gradual.
  • Saturn-Uranus square. Independence vs. restriction and liberal vs. conservative polarization. Long in restrictive lockdown conditions, people want to get out, to get back to their prior lives despite (or defying) the risks. Freedom vs. safety, the "old way" and "new way." Political opposition and gridlock threaten when we can least afford them.

MEDIUM-TERM (The Bridge)

START to Aug 22: Pluto Sun. These few days conclude the weeks-long CanQ Moon to ingress Sun-Pluto with transiting Pluto square Cansolar Moon. Around the world, this particular combination of aspects likely has shown upheaval, confrontation of the people with their government, assailing those in power and ruling institutions, changes in rulership, and defiant lawlessness. After 8/22, two of the aspects drop away but progressed Moon square ingress Pluto continues until 9/3.

Aug 24 to Sep 6: Jupiter conjoins CapQ Moon. These two weeks give perhaps the greatest period of relief of the year, especially after September 3 (when the Cansolar's Moon-Pluto progression ends and, in the U.S., a favorable Canlunar occurs). As the only strong, uncontradicted Jupiter feature of the year, it describes a period of growing prosperity and pride, with more positive newsworthy events and less disaster and hurt. Diplomacy, dignity, and elitism prevail. Pride in nation, community, and family are foremost. From the timing, I suspect it means that Jupiter + Pluto has brought recovery and healing and the nation collectively embraces Labor Day 2021 as the time that the world jumps back to pre-COVID normal. If so, this means that holiday vacationers burst out onto the roads, backyard festivities flourish, harvests are abundant, school years start, and people head back into workplaces.

[Additionally, September 1 marks the day progressed Capsolar Sun leaves 1° orb of conjunction with Pluto. The world as a whole leaves a Sun-Pluto window that has marked the year to date, seeming to say that a months-long time of crisis and staring death in the face ends.]

Sep 11 to END: Pluto Uranus. Transiting Uranus squares Capsolar Ascendant through early November. A new sense of freedom and discovery, people feeling as if unleashed from a long prison sentence. In any case, Uranus themes become the main descriptors of about two months heading into the holidays.

Jupiter enters Capricorn 9/6, reasserting the "let's get down to work spirit" and perhaps focus on infrastructure in particular. -- Summaries of longer-term trends from outer planet sign transits are here.

SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingresses)

Caplunar (Aug 19)
Effective Aug 19 to Sep 16, especially the first two weeks, Aug 19 to Sep 3. Mercury conjoins Mars (0°17' mundo), both planets on Westpoint. Though this is the strongest aspect in Washington (combining orb and angularity), the foreground Sun opposite Jupiter 0°00' is at least as important in understanding the month.

Mercury-Mars tends to be troublesome; however, Sun-Jupiter requires that we give Mercury-Mars a positive spin. Besides its more common negative expressions, Mercury-Mars also coincides with mobilization of tactical and logistical resources. If it does show serious conflict this time, then Sun-Jupiter says that we prevail. However, I think it likely shows the same sort of military style tactical resources being used for other purposes.

Sun-Jupiter usually brings positive events, prosperity, and protection against deeper harm. However, this isn't invariable. For example, it appears when politics egg on events motivated by a non-philanthropic tendency of people with money and power wanting more. One shadow expression of these aspects (in what may be a summer of civil unrest) is mass confrontation of people with law enforcement, especially where a sense of entitlement exists. However, substantially overlapping the best Jupiter aspects of the year (see Bridge above), it likely shows debate and strategic skill applied for the general welfare. (Mercury/Jupiter and Mars/Jupiter midpoints on the horizon reinforce this view.)

Perhaps the worst place this month is New England where Mercury, Mars, and Neptune lines closely converge. New York City is primed for a high-impact event - something resembling an attack - which creates a state of emergency.

Arilunar (Aug 26)
The Arilunar is dormant.

Canlunar (Sep 3)
Effective Sep 3-9. Venus square Ascendant (0°42') anticipates a happy, social week. It wraps around Labor Day weekend, which also has the best Jupiter Bridge aspects of the year. After more than a year and a half of lockdown, it does seem that the United States is truly celebrating a three-day weekend with a pre-COVID style and flourish.

The other strong indicator is a Moon-Mercury-Pluto mundane T-square all within 3° of the angles. Moon-Mercury is 0°14' wide, Moon-Pluto 0°28', and Mercury-Pluto 1°11' - all quite active. If the above picture of the holiday weekend is correct, these aspects primarily mean that people are on the road, getting out of town, kicking up their heels and some dust as if newly unleashed from prison. (Of course, this also means the highest highway death tolls in nearly two years.)

Though Mars opposite Neptune (0°21') is not foreground in Washington, it does exist concurrently in space at the start of the holiday weekend. Regrettably, despite confidence, enthusiasm, ripening of social needs, and demand for a holiday season, danger of climbing new infection rates (along with rampant fires and other "fever" experiences and behaviors) remains high. See the maps section below for where Mars-Neptune is on angles in the U.S.

Liblunar (Sep 9)
Effective Sep 9-16. This mixed week in an upbeat part of the year manages to be more positive than not. Saturn rises (1°12') and Jupiter is on EP (0°45') - essentially equal in strength - with Moon conjunct Venus (0°25' mundo). Both good things and bad things happen. Public happiness continues. Alliances prevail over antipathies.

In most respects, this probably is a week of collectively sobering up after the holiday, bringing a sense of "back to life" reality as the nation settles back toward normal. Politics may be more productive this week as more people are able to think about what it might cost them to win, or what they might gain from losing strategically.

Moon again aspects Pluto, of course (0°33'): We still live in a time of extraordinary intensity. But, also, the Jupiter/Pluto midpoint is on Ascendant, so themes of the week include political reversals, reconstructing a social order, effective alliance, and recovery and healing, turning a corner, and reversing the tide.

The Biden Report

Posted: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:47 pm
by Jim Eshelman
SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN (Aug 27)
Effective Aug 26 to Sep 23. In an upbeat time for the country, Biden's new lunar return is surprisingly hard. Transiting Pluto (WP 0°10') opposes natal Jupiter, an aspect that likely has been mostly positive for the new president but, at root, means significant shifts (positive or negative) in his status, prestige, and well-being. Transiting Saturn (1°37' from Dsc) opposes rising natal Pluto within 0°05'.

Saturn's transit to natal Pluto is the most important feature. It's hard and hardening, bringing a sense of great burden, and often creating distance or separation. Its positive contribution is that it makes possible tremendous effort and commitment. Under this transit we often take on much responsibility or some great task if the impulse is self-originated (while resisting external pressure or demands from others).

Besides these challenging aspects, Moon is 4° from Midheaven. He feels current circumstances powerfully. Things shift rapidly, requiring fluid adaptability. This also likely brings him greater spotlight attention, especially since transiting Sun squares natal Ascendant (0°00'). He is innovative and insightful with Sun also square his Uranus plus a partile Jupiter-Uranus mundane square.

SIDEREAL DEMI-LUNAR RETURN (Sep 10)
Effective Sep 9-23. The last half of the lunar return month is more positive and upbeat that the burdensome first half. Transiting Jupiter (WP 0°59'), natal Uranus (square Asc 0°58'), natal Sun (IC 0°07'), and natal Venus (IC 1°15') are closely angular. This is a splendid, bright, uplifting, and flourishing set of planets, bringing him pleasure and satisfaction, enhancing his standing and prestige, and drawing forth his positive leadership.

Two aspects are foreground: First is his natal Sun-Venus conjunction, his best natal aspect which brings forth charm and warmth. Also, Jupiter squares natal Mercury, which is advantageous for mental, travel, and communication matters. His mind and ideas are well received, appreciated, and winning.

Outer planet sign transits

by Jim Eshelman
Pluto in Sagittarius (2005-2021)
Rising cultural waves rejecting or seeking to overthrow traditional Sagittarian themes, which in turn arouse retaliatory assertion or intensification of those ideas. The battlegrounds for these polarized struggles include the overthrow of cultural institutions in general; rejection of imperialism, elitism, economic disparity, abusive taxation, and traditional forms of religion, and academia (with consequent aggressive protection and re-assertion of these things). Efforts to overthrow existing culture (whether one's own culture or that of an enemy), generally rooted in religious fundamentalism, cultural chauvinism, or ideas of racial purity.

More positively, revolutionary developments in the areas of religion and philosophy. Very substantial advances in energy production (primarily for far-reaching travel and exploration, imperialism and exploitation, and the support of commerce through greater energy production). Science supporting more industrial power and laying the foundation for broader and faster travel.

Neptune in Aquarius (2009-2023)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=388
Suppressed or diffused social progressiveness, squashed rebellions, deranged concepts of liberty, all setting the stage for a future conflict or breakthrough after the transit is over. Imagined new vistas and possibilities without current capacity to reach or manage them. Roused socialist-leaning liberalism. Failure of universalism, futurism, or true enlightenment to flourish. Shortage of dispassionate clarity, fostered ignorance.

This transit reflects living in a time when most people feel like we are living in a science fiction wonderland, "imagining the inconceivable." Change happens so fast, technical progress accelerating far beyond any vision prior generations had to the 21st century (provided it doesn't involve transportation). One aspect of this is increased complexity with life changing faster than neurology can grasp, manage, and keep up. It has fostered technological surveillance and loss of privacy.

Uranus in Aries (2017-2025)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=390&p=2560#p2560
A volatile time politically. Issues of economics, government, and accelerated armament. Great challenges to the stability of existing alliances: Acute polarization splits former allies (individuals, social groups, or nations) along new axes. Widespread dissatisfaction fuels repudiation of historic closely held views and values. Each such era, while people are passing through it, feels like a transitions between a concluding old cycle and an opening new cycle.

An unyielding, unremitting sense of emergency exists, then autocratic governance increases. Extraordinary autocratic power is yielded (voluntarily granted) to national leaders, who acquire increasing dominion of economic and social issues. Armament, safety, going one's way alone without the encumbrances of alliances... these win out over the demand for personal liberty and social equality. The masses seem more comfortable with an authoritarian father figure to "make everything OK." Absent a state of war, there me be a suspension of checks and balances on autocracy normal to martial law.

Increased polarization and struggle between opposing extremes - each historic period has its own example, whether it be arising fascism vs. socialism (or political elements that, if more extreme, would have emerged as overtly fascist or socialist, extremism of right vs. left), opposing views on slavery, Catholic vs. Protestant wars, etc. Economics (especially trade) are unstable, in a precarious balance. Economics policies become more nationalistic and autistic, increasingly protective, to defend against trade inequities and competition imbalances. Extreme unrest in economically hurting populations.

Saturn in Capricorn (Jan 2020 - Jan 2023)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3344#p28419
Individual and political struggles for survival, autonomy, and self-sufficiency. Land & space: Shortages of land and secure space, redefining boundaries; territorial acquisitions and annexations, mineral rights, mining conflicts; walls, embargoes, spatial segregation, splitting historically separate countries into autonomous nations. Earth & water crises: Ecological concerns regarding climate change; land- and water-based retaliations by the Earth against destabilizing climate change; volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, no-warning fire outbreaks; water and land rights and conservation. Hunger, food-security, and dwelling issues including crop failures and famine; further crumbling of farming as a viable livelihood; hunger may be weaponized (or may be addressed aggressively). Earth-mindful rebellion religions thrive, including renewal and empowerment of paganism. Major finance developments: Vast financial institutional restructuring and management, especially favoring capitalism. Changes in how we collectively control money and commerce including bedrock foundations, controls, and financial restructuring; institutions aimed at money security are created or strengthened; long-standing economic hardship and social disenfranchisement boil over. Fear: Focus on how we manage and respond to it. Disabilities and misfortune draw focus: "Inferiority" (so-called) more visible; disability and genetic bigotry; widespread civil liberties conflicts and civil rights resistance activism. Relief from the arts and laughter.

You know how the saying goes, right? "Jupiter doesn't show as a primary indicator for an negative category of events except rain."

I guess if things can go bad, they will.

While all eyes are focused on hurricanes, central Texas yesterday morning had "record-shattering downpours," an "unprecedented deluge" that has killed over 20 people with another 25-30 missing. Pounding rain and flooding "took out roads, cellphone towers, and telephone lines," knocked down and destroyed buildings - all happening in almost an instant, according to USA Today. Homes were "taken off their foundations and moved into their neighbors' yards." Cars "were swept down a road." Then, within hours, the flood waters were gone.

And guess where that 0°00' Sun-Jupiter opposition was exactly on the horizon? Yup: Central Tennessee. (Also Alabama. Everything good there, Steve?)

With the severe Caplunar, I knew better than to give a jolly "best part of the country" interpretation to the Sun-Jupiter, but, y'know, I get tired of sounding like Noah all the time and saying, "Nom, really, it's gonna rain really, really hard." But maybe I should, since it almost always does.

Was the Jupiter-Sun conjunction on the horizon in Tennessee too? 21 people killed in the flooding there and a couple dozen missing. Started "early" on Saturday, August 21, 2020.

Accuweather said "A staggering 17.02 inches of rain fell in McEwen, Tennessee, likely breaking the all-time 24-hour rainfall record for the state of Tennessee, according to the National Weather Service office in Nashville." and "As torrential rainfall continued throughout the day on Saturday, the Piney River at Vernon, Tennessee, crested at 31.8 feet, shattering the river's previous record from 2019 by nearly 12 feet and towering 7 feet above major flood stage. "

Search for bodies centers on Waverly TN, where creeks rose so fast it looked like a wall of water. Death count includes two 7 month old twins swept out of their father's arms, and an entire family including 2 toddlers under 3.

Everything good here. We had a scare mid-afternoon Sat with a brief warning of severe thunderstorms with wind gusts 60 miles per hour--but it never happened. A good friend in the Nashville, TN area reported torrential rains in his area, and the unbelievable rain fall records of 17 + inches of rain near Waverly TN with sudden tragic loss of lives with severe floods.

My primary prediction about the course of Covid-19 in 2021 was written last December (in the recent series of monthly forecasts) and took the form of (1) a terribly severe summer uptick as Saturn transited Capsolar Dsc and (2) improvement, celebration, and relief breaking through around Labor Day, as discussed in the Bridge above - the dates marking it given as August 24 to September 6, which were marked as "the greatest period of relief of the year.

As reported today by CNN, yesterday (August 24) was when the WHO first announced that the summer surge was levelling off:
CNN wrote:Global Covid-19 cases appear to be leveling off after a two-month increase, the World Health Organization says. WHO reported more than 4.5 million new cases and 68,000 new deaths worldwide last week, which was only a slight increase over the previous week. Don’t get too optimistic, though -- there was a similar pattern in May, before the Delta variant spurred a worldwide surge in outbreaks.

I hope your leveling off prediction is correct. Both my wife and I have some tough return charts coming up in Oct and regardless what Covid will be doing with # of cases we will be taking all the precautions necessary to avoid Covid.

Steve, if either of you gets Covid, get the monoclonal antibodies. Ask your doctor. This is what Trump got and the governor of Texas. Get it as soon as possible after you get symptoms. It's free, and it will help mitigate any effects from Covid, including long-term effects.

For no apparent reason, many doctors and even hospitals don't just automatically offer it to you. You have to ask for it. So be sure to tell your doctor you and your wife want it. Sometimes they have to send you to a special infusion center to get it (it's not a pill nor a shot, it's an IV infusion.) Make sure your doctor writes it down in your chart.

For twice in the same two week period - the time the Caplunar is serving as both month and week chart - the area is being battered. This morning, Ida has moved north and is killing dozens of people with flooding in PA, NJ, and NYC.
