Costumes & style

I've been playing around with a "rule of thumb" phrase astrologers can use to summarize the relationship of Sun-sign, Moon-sign, and rising sign, that gives an intuitive sense of what part they play in the person's character. The phrase is:
You are a SUN-SIGN with a MOON-SIGN style, costumed (or dressed up) as a ASC SIGN.
For example, of Donald Trump it could be said: "You are a Taurus with a Scorpio style, costumed as Leo."

I've tried this out on a few dozen people and it works pretty well. I thought I'd share it here and see what people thought. BTW, if Sun-sign and Asc sign are the same, leave off Asc and add, "(You are what you seem to be.)" If Moon-sign and rising sign are the same, change "style" to "style and attire."

For some of the people on this site:

Jim: You are a Virgo with an Aquarian style. (You are what you seem to be.)
Arena: You are a Cancer with an Aries style, costumed as a Gemini.
Avshalom Binyamin: You are a Virgo with a Virgo style, costumed as a Scorpio.
Benji: You are an Aries with a Sagittarius style, costumed as a Libra.
By Jove: You are a Sagittarius with a Sagittarius style, costumed as a Taurus.
Danica: You are an Aries with a Leo style, costumed as a Scorpio.
FlorencedeZ: You are a Libra with a Scorpio style, costumed as a Sagittarius.
Freya: You are a Gemini with a Virgo style, costumed as a Leo.
Hannah: You are a Sagittarius with a Scorpio style, costumed as an Aries.
James Condor: You are a Sagittarius with a Pisces style and attire.
Jupiter sets at Dawn: You are a Leo with a Pisces style. (You are what you seem to be.)
Lance: You are a Libra with a Pisces style, costumed as a Virgo.
Mike: You are a Sagittarius with a Virgo style, costumed as a Leo.
Parto: You are an Aquarian with a Capricorn style and attire.
Soft Alpaca: You are a Sagittarius with a Leo style. (You are what you seem to be.)
sotonye: You are an Aries with a Taurus style and attire.
StarAgeWiz: You are a Taurus with an Aries style, costumed as an Aquarius.
Stef: You are a Sagittarius with a Libra style, costumed as a Pisces.
SteveS: You are a Virgo with a Scorpio style, costumed as a Libra.
Steve's wife: You are a Libra with an Aquarian style, costumed as a Gemini.
The Scales Both Ways: You are a Libra with a Capricorn style, costumed as a Cancer.
Venus Daily: You are a Leo with a Sagittarius style, costumed as a Taurus.
Veronica: You are an Aquarius with a Scorpio style, costumed as a Gemini.

Thoughts? (Yes, it's a gimmick. But is it a useful gimmick that triggers insights?)

Very interesting!

How would you define costumes vs style?
I suppose, with style (the Moon sign), you mean style of behaviour or personality, whereas costume (the Ascendant sign) is your first impression, how you appear to others?

LOL, it never occurred to me how a Libra might hear that :)

Style is behavior. I also picked the word because there is something genuine about it even if it's not the central part of a person. "Costume," however, is all dress-up and pretend.

Donald Trump is a Taurus with a Scorpio style (aided by that rising Mars): He might be more Taurian than we know underneath it all, but, since he sees tenderness as weakness, he gets to cover all that with Scorpio mannerisms. Then, being effectively a Scorpio in behavior, he puts on his little king costume and goes out to play. (The Ascendant doesn't have to have any congruence with who a person is, it's just their favorite cos play.)

Hahaha. Thanks for the clarification, Jim.

I must say, Cancer would be an appropriate costume for me. I think it manifests in two distinct ways: first, the Lunar way, where I come off as a physically vulnerable person, a boyish-looking person, or looking younger than I am and this would (sometimes) seem to initiate others' parental responses or make me appear as a non-threat to them. For example, some older men do see me as a cute, young, vulnerable boy/man, and when it comes to the sexual scene, I get a lot of requests from men above the age of 30, which I assume is because I look boyish.

And then there's possibly the Jupiterian manifestation of my Cancer Ascendant (or maybe it's just my angular Jupiter and my Sun-Jupiter opposition, or both). I somehow have always come off as a son of a "good family" who has good manners and is a dedicated student who steers away from committing any delinquent acts. And that is mostly true as I have an angular Jupiter aspecting my Sun, but I also am a Capricorn Moon, so when I reveal my not as goody-two-shoes side, it may surprise people. (This may also be contributed by my Mars-Jupiter trine's "Angel-Devil complex"?) This doesn't happen as much these days, though, since I am 21 years old now. Among my peers at university, I also do appear as someone who knows how to impress the strict lecturers and who's aware of how to talk and behave appropriately to them.

This, coupled with my coming off as vulnerable, has actually saved me from a few potential bullying situations in the past. Someone would see me as an easy target and would bother me, then their friend would come up and say "leave him alone, he looks like a good student" or something like that.

I think my Cancer ascendant is also more at play when I am clean-shaven - then I really look like a classic well-raised Cancer. With an untrimmed beard or messy hair, I come off more as a Capricorn instead. One person mentioned I looked like a sex creep when I kept my beard untrimmed and unshaven, which did take me by surprise. Another person mentioned I look more mature with a beard, which I guess is a comment a lot of men get anyway.

And yes, the above does seem all dress-up and pretend, because I am not really like this on the inside, where I'm actually a Libra-Capricorn.

Capricorn Moon is my style, but since one aspect of Capricorn Moon is being aloof, private and not forthcoming, I use that aspect of my "style" too, to withhold any socially undesirable parts of myself, like my Libra femininity and "softness" (or at least, when I feel I've gone "overboard" with it than what is socially acceptable), my sexuality, some of my social and political views, my occasional Capricorn snarkiness and etc. Not sure if I have a Capricornian "bad boy" side because I do have Jupiter angular too, but I like indulging in such fantasies sometimes.
