When Pius XI became pope

The example from Cyril Fagan (reproduced in The Solunars Handbook) that I gave elsewhere - comparing erudite Pope Pius XII to his astro-twin, a young woman severely mentally disabled (not able to form memories) - had a sequel that belongs in this Solar Returns section.

Fagan felt that the future pope's nativity didn't look very papal. He was born May 31, 1857, 8:00 AM LMT, Desio, Italy. In favor of its papalness (papacity?), I note that his Taurus Sun is, by a large lead, the most common Sun-sign for popes, and his Leo Moon ties for second most common Moon-sign. Nonetheless, there are admittedly no great marks of royal or spiritual dignity beyond the afflicted Leo Moon.

Fagan then observed that the chart which did show such things was the Sidereal Solar Return for the year he ascended to the throne of St. Peter - what I (among others) have termed the new birth chart for the year. His papacy began February 6, 1922. The operative SSR occurred June 1, 1921, 6:12:38 PM CET, cast for Rome. As Fagan wrote:
The student will notice at once that the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the royal constellation Leo in the 10th house in opposition to Uranus in Aquarius in the 4th house, and all three bodies being in square aspect to the Sun setting in Taurus, immediately catches the eye. As stated, the raja-yoga par excellence of kingship or the like are mutual configurations of the Sun and Jupiter from the angles, to which we may add Uranus, the significator of autocracy. Here Jupiter and Uranus are found almost precisely on the meridian circle..., a position of maximum power, Jupiter being in partile (exact) square aspect to the Sun. Seeing this raja-yoga dominating the foreground of his sidereal solar return, could any astrologer, worthy of the name, fail to predict that during the ensuing twelve months Cardinal Ratti would don the papal tiara? Impossible! The language of the stars could not be plainer. It should be observed that, inter alia, configurations of Jupiter and Saturn symbolize religious organizations, churches, and ecclesiastical functions.

For comparison, I give below the nativity followed by the 1921 SSR.

From your book "Interpreting Solar Returns", Chapter 7 Timing:
A Solar Return describes the life circumstances an individual experiences during the period of its effect. We have seen how it can be interpreted as an alternate birth chart for the course of the year. At the same time, the Solar Return is the basis of the most powerful forecasting system presently known to astrological technology.
Again, without Cyril Fagan's brilliant work in the field of Astrology, we would not have the brilliant timing tool of a Sidereal Solar Return. Fagan's work belongs in classrooms of all the Universities, but the authorities of these institutions...

Interesting Jim...Be curious on what a chart would say on Francis...Horn and Putnam apparently think that Francis will be the last pope before Peter Roman.

If you look in the upper right hand corner of the window in which you have the forum open, you'll find a search box. I searched on Pope Francis.

Actually, that link does have a chart since I didn't go back and remove it yet. I'm not sure you clicked on the link.
