Alaska earthquake magnitude 8.2

Post by Jim Eshelman »

I haven't seen news about it, but correspondent mentioned it to me, saying it is the 6th strongest quake ever to hit the U.S. I haven't checked such details. At the time of the quake, Pluto was 0°48' from Ascendant in mundane opposition to Sun - and other planets involved across the horizon.

I see that Wikipedia is calling this the 2021 Chignik earthquake:

A tsunami warning was issued and then cancelled - so, if my analysis of tsunami events is correct, we shouldn't have significant Jupiter presence. (There were tsunamis about half a foot high near Kodiak Island.) I see no indications of casualties or damage, so we may have a "pure quake" event independent of specific damage indicators.
