Over the last few days, the Dixie Fire has expanded and risen to be the second worst fire in California history. I think it's likely to keep going until it gets the gold medal. It's been burning since July 13, beginning in the Feather River Canyon near the Cresta Dam, probably due to PG&E equipment sparking (a tree fell on a live power line 7/13, starting a small brush fire).
So far, nearly half a million acres have burned. 627 buildings have been destroyed; there have been no deaths. The fire is about 20% contained. Air pollution from the fire has covered much of the western U.S., causing the worst air quality in the world at the moment. Last week (8/4) it wiped Greenville, CA (nestled into a corner of Lassen Volcanic National Park) off the map.
I don't yet have a time for the power outage that started it.
The charts kick into gear beginning with the lunar ingresses, as the Bridge narrowed in at the place. The CanQ and final Mars transit kicked off the initial sparks.

NOTE: The Cansolar is devastating and deserves a look, even though it also has some benefic offsets, perhaps consistent with lack of deaths so far.
