Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11, Kansas holds a special election for it's 4th congressional district to replace Representative Mike Pompeo who was appointed by Trump as CIA director.

Tuesday April 18th, Georgia holds a special election for it's 6th congressional district to replace Representative Tom Price who was appointed by Trump as secretary of Health and Human Services.

Thursday May 25th, Montana holds a special election for it's one and only congressional district to replace Representative Ryan Zinke, who was appointed by Trump to be secretary of the Interior.

About 1:45 PM today (April 12), police responded to a report of a body floating in the Hudson River and discovered it was Justice Sheila Abdus-Salaam of New York State's highest court, the first African-American woman to serve.

The CAPLUNAR, in addition to Moon square Uranus (1°47'), has Pluto setting (1°58') square Sun-Venus at MC (4°39'-4°50') in mundo, and a touch of foreground Moon.

The CANLUNAR has Mars sq. MC (0°39') and Neptune sq. Asc (0°43'). (I used Washington Heights as the closest easy coordinates for the location at about 132nd Street and the Hudson where she was found). Based on this Canlunar, I forecast two weeks containing gruesome events for New York City area. Moon squared Uranus (1°04').

When she was found, a mix of Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto contacts with CapQ angles marked the event, which apparently is registering primarily as a shocking event about a judge - the primary aspect is a Jupiter-Pluto square, though transiting Pluto was the closest single contact (16').

Transiting Saturn conjoined New York's Cansolar MC (1°22'). The ongoing Venus-Saturn square was only 0°42' wide.

As you may know, Arkansas has been planning a marathon of executions starting Monday night - eight executions in 10 days. They are timing this because the still have a supply of an execution drug that hasn't been blocked by other law suits, and the drug has a "use by" expiration date of about two weeks from now. They haven't executed any prisoners in a dozen years, and they want to get this done while they can.

I'd been watching the story for general interest, and because the current Caplunar has a Saturn line cutting right through Arkansas. If all goes forward, the execution marathon would begin (but not finish) with Saturn setting right through the area of high profile scheduled death.

For the moment, though, Saturn means "Stop!" This morning a federal judge halted the process, temporarily restraining Arkansas from using its three execution drugs. The clock is still ticking. The state, of course, is appealing.

Mundane charts for Little Rock have looked to me like the executions are going to happen, though the charts would look much the same just because of the plans and high publicity on intending the executions; i.e., multiple deaths are the topic of focus in the state.

For example, the CAPSOLAR is border-line dormant: Pluto is exactly 3° below Dsc, Sun 3°51' above, for government and death themes. In any case, we still have the CANSOLAR hanging around with Saturn 2° from MC, closely square a foreground Neptune. These alone set the stage for the drama. Then, to make the solar ingress package complete, the new ARISOLAR has:

Pluto on MC (1°48')
Uranus on EP (0°28')
Sun rising (2°51')
-- Sun-Pluto sq. (1°03' in mundo)
-- Sun-Uranus conj. (1°51' in mundo)
-- Uranus-Pluto sq. (2°54')
Mercury & Venus widely foreground

Then we get to this month's CAPLUNAR with Saturn 0°47' from Descendant, Neptune 5°25' from MC. The LIBLUNAR surrenders its dormancy to Mercury on EP (1°06') with more widely foreground Mars and Moon aspects to Mercury and Uranus; I think this is just keeping the story in the news.

Which brings us to TODAY. With nothing going on in the Capsolar, the CanQ has Mars transiting the Descendant, still in partile opposition to ingress Mars on Ascendant - that's the fight, what looks like bloody combat but, actually, was an aggressive life-and-death struggle (literally) fight in a courtroom.

I still think these are going to go through. CanQ EP reaches ingress Saturn tomorrow through Tuesday, then MC square the Saturn Tuesday through Saturday. Meanwhile, the CanQ has a week-long pass through ingress and transiting Neptunes beginning Wednesday. In the middle of this, for all parts of the world, transiting Mars squares Capsolar Moon Sunday through Tuesday (the executions are scheduled to start Monday, which could mean the first minute after midnight, i.e., Sunday night) - this affects the whole world, but would have a significance in Arkansas consistent with what all the other charts are showing.

N. Korea shot off a missile about 5:21 PM Eastern (Sunday morning April 16,NK time) from Sinpo, in eastern NK. It blew up in air almost immediately, so fast very little could be determined about it. VP Pence is on his way to South Korea, and of course it's the leader's grandpa's birthday. They shot one off that didn't get far last year too.

Fascinating. I'm glad that I finished posting my new month predictions a few days ago, including concerns about uncertainty shaking up the market or the next month.

There is also an excellent article in New York Times today about US retail being at a tipping point. The number of retail jobs already lost exceeds the total amount of jobs in the coal industry.

The Atlantic has a good article too that goes into causes like our overbuilding of malls and a shift in spending habits.

Three are dead in Fresno, from a gunman (already wanted for another shooting) who has now surrendered to police. It occurred at 10:45 AM today.

ARISOLAR has the Venus-Saturn square on angles. I mentioned it this morning with regard to LA. Ecliptically, they are 0°49' square, with Saturn 1°01' from WP, Venus 1°25' from MC.

CAPLUNAR has Mars square MC 1°07'.

CapQ brings the Capsolar's Venus-Neptune to an angle (a key aspect of shooting events), along with transiting Neptune.

Transiting Saturn is partile conjunction with Capsolar Descendant. Transiting Pluto conjoins Cansolar Ascendant.

Although final autopsy results are still pending, it appears she committed suicide, as did her mother in 2012 and her brother in 2014. All suffered from depression.

Whiteclay, NE (42.993658, -102.559497) population 14 in 2000, about 10 now, is 2 miles south of the border with S. Dakota, which is also the border of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation of the Oglala Sioux, where possession and consumption of alcohol is prohibited. In 2010, 4.9 million cans of beer were sold from in Whiteclay which has four businesses, all selling liquor.

Whiteclay has no law enforcement of it's own, it takes over 45 minutes for state and county law enforcement to get to Whiteclay and last year there were over 150 ambulance calls, dozens of assaults, hit and runs and people struck by cars in Whiteclay. One in four children on the reservation suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome.

At 12:25 PM April 19, 2017, the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission, in a standing room only meeting in the Nebraska State Office Building, voted 3-0 to deny renewing the liquor licenses of all four businesses in tiny Whiteclay, NE.

On news of the French election outcome, world markets, including U.S. stock markets, spiked. The Dow opened over 200 points up, and stayed very even all day. All major U.S. markets grew over 1%.

The CapQ for Washington has transiting Uranus (square ingress Sun) on Descendant, ingress Jupiter within orb of Ascendant. Shift to New York (especially since Goldman was the main contributor to the index surge here) and the focus is more on Mercury-Uranus on CapQ Dsc.

The Guild members voted to authorize a strike May 2 if they don't get what they want in negotiations. Probably, it's mostly a negotiation tactic and, otherwise, loading the gun. As I've already itemized, if they go on strike, it will be a severe blow to the LA economy.

LA has Venus-Neptune and Saturn-Neptune on Capsolar angles, Venus-Saturn exactly on Arisolar angles, Pluto exactly setting in tomorrow's Arilunar which persists in power through the week of May 2, transiting Saturn crossing Capsolar Descendant through this whole period, and transiting Saturn exactly on CapQ IC on May 2. Also, Uranus is squaring Cansolar Ascendant (and setting Sun) through this whole time.

I figure it's a strike or a massive earthquake with a tsunami. The latter probably would ruin far fewer lives.

4-25-2017, 11:07 AM, Commerce Secretary Ross announced at the White house Press conference today the Trump admin is leveling a 20% tariff on Canadian lumber coming into the US, accusing the Canadians of price fixing in the process. He says he doesn't see any reason housing prices should go up by much because of this. He's also saying it's not in retaliation for Canada raising tariffs on cheap US milk that's been flooding their markets, but the tariff on lumber is being taken in retrograde to when Canada raised the tax on US milk.

Reportedly, about 250 companies have have frozen their ad campaigns with Google when it has found out that their ads are found being played even in extremist content on YouTube.

It is estimated that Google may lose up to US$750 million due to this boycott.

This news is about a month old, but I only learned of it today after I saw a video of a popular full-time YouTuber wherein she says she's losing much revenue due to this (and explains that YouTube ads, and not views, are what giving YouTubers their revenue) and so she may soon have to stop posting videos. Plus her videos are mainly about sensitve controversial issues, (I only watch her astrology videos TBH) so she and her videos are also being put into high scrutiny.
It seems that YouTube has made their rules stricter, strictly no cussing, hate, religion/sensitive issues taken too far, etc. and more monitoring of recently posted videos.

Some other full-time YouTubers are being affected by this ad boycott too, as the YouTuber above claims.

Do the charts have anything to say for this besides Mercury retrograde? (Though Mercury was direct when this issue started)

I don't think anything particular, This just seems like routine news, similar to many others. The story has changed half a dozen times in the last month, e.g., most recently reporting on Google's changing policies in response to the advertisers withdrawing. I think that, underneath it all, Google's algorithms placing ads next to objectionable content is the "same story" as Facebook inadvertently circulating fake news and gratuitous violence, and many other stories that mingle accelerated bigotry, accelerated sensitivity to bigotry, intensified political polarization, and continuous reinvention on the tech sphere.

Now those last four factors, of course, are all shown pretty well in outer planet sign transits and the current Jupiter-Uranus dominance here and elsewhere.

Yes, pretty much what I was thinking; that these events are mostly already shown well by the outer planets' constellational positions and the US's Jupiter-Uranus Capsolar. Thank you for clarifying.

About 5:15 PM April 28, 2017, Reuters news announced N. Korea shot off a ballistic missile in a "test" which failed. Not sure how it failed, either blew up before reaching altitude or fell into sea. Nobody seems too excited about it.

20,000 people in LA lost power over the last day or two due to crazy winds. I'm always curious to see if there is targeted Mercury around for wind and we have at least a little.

With Mercury slow in the sky and changing close to Uranus (partile conjunct at the moment), yesterday they were both within 2° of CapQ Descendant. More poignant, though, is that the Capsolar MC is 28°45' Pisces, so Mercury and Uranus have been sitting together on the city's Midheaven for the year the last few days, stationary there this weekend, and lasting through Monday or Tuesday. Therefore, I'm going to expect crazy winds through Monday.

I'm unaware of any study that definitively links heavy wind to Mercury, but I've seen it so often that I think it's a real effect. I'm surprised the NYU team didn't test for that. Transits to the Capsolar and the CapQ seem to do their job in reflecting transient daily effects that seem to include changing weather patterns.

Wind still howling loudly all night, at a "shake the building" level. At work, our tall office tower has flexible construction and is designed to move when the building is shaken (as by earthquake etc.). Yesterday, we could periodically hear the building creaking during the day as it flexed subtly in the wind.

Though they haven't voted, it appears that Congress today agreed on a trillion dollar supplemental funding to keep the government going until September when the new budget cycle begins. Bottom line: No shutdown.

I note that I cited, in the monthly forecast, that Jupiter is on a quotidian May 2, with a two-day window. Sounds like it starts today? At this very minute, CanQ Ascendant for Washington is 23°32' Scorpio, with Cansolar Jupiter 24°31' Leo. It was a good day for spending money and avoiding bad things.

In a last-second save, the writers did not go out on strike. This was a huge save for LA.

It does leave the question, though, of what is still to come. LA has one of the worst lineups of solar ingress charts for the whole year that I've seen in one spot. I said a couple times that, other than the strike, I don't know what could manifest this other than a bad natural disaster. In some ways, the hardship of a writer's strike would have been more comforting because we'd then know what the hardship would be.

So... we still have almost three-fourths of this year to go...
