JAE SLRs & Demi-SLRs 2021-22

In all my years in astrology, I've never bothered to look an entire year ahead at my SLRs - I mostly take them as they come, looking just a short way ahead. However, with a new SSR year approaching, I thought I'd do formal work-ups on a year of SLRs and Demi-SLRs - have them all in one spot. I can then replicate the relevant post as each new fortnight rolls around. (This is going to take a LOT of number crunching.)
To start, here is the breakdown of the Sidereal Solar Return under which all of these will occur: 10/10/2021. (As I start to work these up, I'm thinking I'll only include Eris, and possibly even Sedna, when there is something really outstanding. I don't need to keep mentioning that Eris squares my Mars all year <g>.) I will presume initially that all charts occur while I'm at or near my home; if that changes during the year, I can always update it.

Demi-SLR 11/1/21

My new Demi will occur Monday (feel it by Sunday). It returns Moon-Neptune to prominence but it's
transiting Moon, not natal Moon, that's most involved. Marion has a concurrent rough SLR (though we both have very positive SSRs: We'll obviously be watching, hoping to confirm that the SSRs set a better baseline as a few consecutive rough SLRs roll through). - This isn't a major chart, given the orbs.

Impressions: No SSR themes appear. Overall, this is a difficult time marked by acute sensitivity, feelings of vulnerability and frailty, and a lot of activity swirling in the environment. It's a bit worse within the context of the concurrent SLR.

BTW, the SLR has been quite mild. I think nothing in particular has happened, certainly nothing major or worth noting. The most significant event of the time has been a long thread here on the forum where I had to give a long-time participant some (solicited) counsel that I know he didn't want to hear - that's actually a pretty good fit of the strongest symbolism of the SLR, come think of it.
Possibly my natal Jupiter-Uranus angular has made this a better experience. Or, my positive SSR set a higher tone, and this SLR floated near that baseline. - Or both, with the natal Jupiter-Uranus angularity somewhat sorta-kinda stirring the SSR transiting Jupiter-Uranus emphasis.
Stripping out the complex Eris involvements, here is a repeat of the chart breakdown.

I forgot to repost this ahead of time. This occurred today at 5:26 PM (oh, just two minutes ago).
Impressions: Foremost, this chart brings forward the strong Mercury-Uranus themes of the SSR, and I think these are the most important features of the chart. There is, however, a barely foreground (but close by orb) Sun-reinforced Saturn transit to my Venus. -- I don't think any part of this broad period centered on December will be a pleasant, positive time, so there will be something I experience as hardship, hopefully offset by a remarkably positive SSR; but this period should bring exciting Mercury-Uranus developments (these are usually upbeat for me).

The angular Me-Ur combo is most interesting, keep us informed.
I think we can see most of this on the forum this week. There was also a Sun-Venus-Saturn event that was
nearly in the background (just like the aspects), but the posts to the forum (and what I've had to do to manage and respond to them) have been the big Mercury-Uranus events of the week.

My Demi-lunar occurs Sun, November 28, at 11:29 AM when I likely will be home. I should be feeling it by Saturday.
Impressions: This chart echoes the strong Mercury-Jupiter themes of the SSR. In fact, though Mars is the most angular planet, the powerful Sun-Mercury-Jupiter foreground aspects (moderately foreground) surely dominate this chart, making it a predominantly positive, success-oriented fortnight that improves conditions somewhat. (The SSR's Mercury-Uranus is echoed in the full lunar, and Mercury-Jupiter in the demi.) - It's a great way to head into what I expect to be a difficult December.

The main marker of this Demi-SLR is that I got sick. If I hadn't been so vaccinated (for such a range of things), it probably could have been worse. As it is, I've been partly down almost all week, and heavily down with it for a few days. One consequence is I had to miss two friends' wedding today (Marion travelled without me - I thought I was turning the corner yesterday, then woke this morning far deeper in feeling sick than any earlier day.)
I'll get over it - it's just a flu bug (I took a Covid tests to be sure; it was negative). Doctors knew in advance that this year's flu shot would be pretty worthless (got one anyway). So it's the bug going 'round. That exactly angular Mars has entirely had its way with me.
I'm quite surprised, though, that there hasn't been a clear expression of the less angular but seeming dynamically important Sun-Mercury-Jupiter. There have been some nice developments here on the forum, but nothing that seems to reflect this. Things are OK in work, but under rising Jupiter precisely square a culminating Sun-Mercury conjunction one might expect a great deal of very positive, unusual things - and none of that.
I do have a summons for jury duty this next week. I suppose this could be satisfied (not what I expected
but fitting) by actually getting called and seated this time. I was hoping for something nicer than the super-Neptune lunar a week from now.
I have no clue what effect, if any, the moderately angular Saturn-Sedna aspect may be having. Perhaps the "ancient roots" theme is active since I took more steps on a book chapter I'll eventually need to write summarizing the body of Fagan's archaeological discoveries on the origins of the zodiac.

No. More like lighter versions of the same direction, e.g., pre-fever and muscle soreness. Not (for example), the 100° threshold associated with Covid.

No, since trines and sextiles don't hold up statistically in studies of SLRs. (As you know, I never let an individual chart affect my view of astrological structures when we have statistics on the matter.) Trines and sextiles simply don't exist in return charts.
But we don't really need the aspect, right? Having Mars less than 1° from Zenith is enough to make it a fundamentally Mars period.

My new SLR sets up late tomorrow (Friday) night when I'll be at home. It's one of my least favorite kinds: A Neptune chart.
Impressions: No SSR themes are repeated. Sun-Neptune is partile and closely angular, with Moon added; so, on balance, this likely a negative period. See the note below for my more complex concerns about this month. (Generally, mid-December is when I get to restabilize finances every year due to my annual bonus, but this chart does not look like "anxieties are eased" is a major theme.)

-- t Moon-Sun sq. 0°48' M

NOTE:
I expect this December to be one of the more difficult months of my life. It is the approximate convergence of an exact progressed Venus-Saturn conjunction and an exact Solar Arc Saturn square natal Sun (while progressed/SA Sun semi-squares natal Saturn). Marion's charts are comparably difficult, though she comes out as early as January-February with much improved charts. This SLR doesn't improve my mood about the month. -- PS: A middleground t Venus-Pluto conjunction is 0°06' wide. T Saturn is 0°09' from square natal Saturn, but t Jupiter is 0°02' from square natal Venus (also op. Pluto), which, if effective, is the one positive note in the chart.

My demi-lunar will occur Christmas Day, 6:34 PM, when I will be home. Though loaded with dismantling or rearranging conditions, it is fundamentally a positive chart. I do hope it overwhelms the Neptune-driven full SLR so that I get past this severe flu that has had me at home and immobilized for most of a week.
Impressions: No SSR themes are echoed (unless one takes the Venus-to-Jupiter transit as echoing the SSR's Jupiter-to-Venus), but this is, nonetheless, a very powerful chart.
Easily more benefics than malefics are foreground. In fact, while Pluto (add Uranus) can be highly disruptive, there isn't a single malefic (natal or transiting) in Class 1 angularity and, in Class 2, there is only natal Mars-Neptune. This should be an overwhelmingly positive chart, with Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus closely foreground and in mutual aspect, all paran a closely angular Sun - and only my shadowy Mars-Neptune in the wings. (This isn't inconsistent with a "win the lottery" type of outcome.) Besides the foreground benefic aspects (including Venus to natal Jupiter-Uranus), in the background we also have t Jupiter sq. r Venus 0°59' (not shown below).
Pluto's impact on all of this remains unclear, though these angularities and a blazingly positive SSR suggest an upbeat time. ALL the foreground planets are natal planets except for the exact Venus-Pluto conjunction.

Impressions: While SSR themes are somewhat echoed in this SLR (with recurring aspects), they aren't straightforward, and they are mixed with other factors, so I'm not sure I can expect any specific ripening of SSR elements from this month. Natal planets are the most dominant (two benefics, two malefics), but the two transiting planets angular (close or moderate) are Pluto and Saturn. This speaks of separation and loss. The transiting aspects are quite powerful - Pluto transits to my entire T-square - and several aspects speak of a hard financial blow, perhaps specifically with old financial karma to deal with. - There are too many individual themes to summarize easily, but these seem to be the main impressions.

My new Demi-SLR occurred at 12:07 AM today (last night). I was at home.
Impressions: No SSR themes are echoed (unless natal Jupiter-Uranus stands in for transiting Jupiter-Uranus). With transiting Sun and natal Jupiter-Uranus closely angular, this seems predominantly positive period. -- With the Sun-Mercury emphasis, my first impression is that it's "back to business." Next important are Pluto's transits to Jupiter-Uranus (among other planets): It's unclear how these may go, but the general impression of the fortnight is predominantly positive.

by Jim Eshelman
My new SLR occurs Thursday, February 3 at 5:31 PM PST. I likely will be home at that time. It is probably the worst SLR of the year for me and comes just as transiting Saturn squares my SSR Ascendant. (My sublimely positive SSR nonetheless gets this Saturn transit.) The angularities are very close and tightly interconnected, and then more widely foreground planets flesh out the aspects. Besides the double (Sun-reinforced) Saturn, Neptune is back within 1° of Moon, middleground in this SLR. The Demi-SLR in two weeks also bad, but in a simpler, straightforward way: Transiting Saturn is within 1° of Asc.
Impressions: No SSR themes are echoed. With two Saturns against a Uranus, the SLR leans negative. Just taking the SLR itself, though Uranus is the most angular planet, the Sun-Saturn conjunction seems to have the strongest voice. Saturn-Uranus tensions seem to dominate and, especially, the Saturn-tinged Uranus transit of natal Mercury-Saturn is the big theme. One expects stable things to become less stable, certainties to become less certain, foundations to be shaken a bit.

Demi-SLR 2/18/22

This occurs February 18 at 6:08 AM PST. Considering I am already under a very severe SLR, this Demi is one of the most potentially devastating lunar returns I've ever seen. Were I not under a powerfully positive SSR, I'd feel a little lost in the face of it, but the positive SSR suggests it will be a bad (probably costly) dip in a primarily positive cycle.
Impressions: No SSR themes are echoed. With Saturn the exact degree of Ascendant, it is a negative chart showing a "bad" two weeks (under a bad SLR). The chart is quite simple: Transiting Sun and Saturn plus natal Pluto are precisely angular. The only foreground aspect is Sun opposite Pluto.
I, who do not bother relocating for SLRs, am seriously considering relocating for this one. IMHO it doesn't help to get just a short distance away for a lunar return because both charts (both locations) are comparable effective. It does help, though, if you can place other, better planets exactly angular. At the longitude of Tuscon I can get transiting Sun and Jupiter precisely angular (and due north is slightly better, such as in Miami, AZ). We are considering whether to take a two-day trip to Arizona.
t Sun on EP-a 0°24'

t Saturn on Asc +0°30'
r Pluto on WP-a +0°34'

NOTE: Neptune remains within 1° of Moon - middleground in this return. There are numerous other partile aspects, possibly important for details:

In contrast, here's the same chart for Miami, AZ:
r Moon on Asc -8°46'
r Pluto on Dsc -6°54'
t Jupiter on EP 0°00'
t Sun on Asc +0°06'
t Saturn on Asc +7°05'
-- t Jupiter op r Pluto 0°24' M
-- t Jupiter co r Moon 1°27'
-- r Moon-Pluto op 1°51' M
-- t Sun op r Pluto 2°45'
Other (non-angular) partile aspects:
t Ve co t Ma 00°16'
----------------------
t Ur op r Sa 00°16' M
t Pl op r Ur 00°23' M
-- t Pl op r Ju 00°26' M
t Ne co r Mo 00°25'
t Ve sq r Su 00°34'
-- t Ma sq r Su 00°51'
----------------------
r Ju co r Ur 00°03' M
Besides the very positive angularities and some lovely discovered aspects - like transiting Jupiter conjunct my Moon closely foreground instead of just Neptune conjunct my Moon - the other foreground aspects fit the "get-away" idea. Transiting Jupiter joining Sun in opposition to my Pluto seems to say that whatever "fundamental turning point" occurs is positive leaning (and also "good to get away"). The natal Moon-Pluto mundane opposition unique to the chart is "hitting the road." It's clearly a better chart and may be what we do.

It looks like we're going to Tuscon. Not enough difference between the two places, and Marion has never been there - so we're going,
In looking at sites in the area, I noticed the local desert arboretum is in the 2900 block of North Alvernon Way. - Wait, where?! Since high school, I've known, like my own phone number, the address 2505 N. Alvernon Way, Tuscon, AZ (was the zip code 85712?) as the address of Clancy Publications, i.e., American Astrology Magazine. I though, oh, we'll go to the arboretum and make a small pilgrimage to show Marion the old location.
Finding it online, at first glance, it looked like it had gone into significant disrepair. I had to zoom in to see that what I thought was water damage was a mural across the front. I think it's a solar power installation company. - Search the address on Google Maps if you want to see it (yes, the place with the purple truck and red car in front of it). I recognized the building at once, swirled the map and recognized the street. The front door is in the middle, which opened into a reception area. The office Ken Irving inherited from Bradley was off to the left, Mrs. S's office off to the right, some other rooms behind.

Well, the first loud shoe dropped in the last 24 hours. There may be other dropping shoes, but this one is already enough to confirm that Sidereal Lunar Returns work brilliantly (and to suggest that the trip to Arizona to deflect the worst impact of the compounding Demi-SLR is a priority).
With Sun today transiting across my SSR Jupiter (most angular SSR planet), there were two significant reliefs from the effect of the shoe-dropping. These occurred within a few minutes of each other with transiting Sun 0°04' from conjunction with solar Jupiter. However, they also occurred with a Mercury-Pluto conjunction square my Neptune, so there was a psychological price to pay for both.
These would all be easier if Neptune were not in partile transit to both natal and progressed Moons (and will be for months). In terms of pure transits, that (with Pluto to Neptune perhaps equal to it) is the foremost transit for me of 2022.

March 3, 2022, 3:32:14 AM PST. I will be home for this.
Impressions: No SSR themes are clearly echoed. The chart has only one closely foreground planet - natal Sun - which must somehow set the theme; yet, the triple conjunction of Venus, Mars, and Pluto (all within 0°18') must be taken very seriously despite its much wider angularity. In fact, the five closest aspects all involve one or two barely foreground planets. It will, therefore, be an educational SLR to witness regardless of the actual outcome.
The aspects are complex. I've attempted to forge order from them in the structuring of the aspect list below. In addition to the specific implications of Venus-Mars-Pluto, most of the aspects seem to mean either a hard financial blow or significant advancement of ambitions - it's a hard call. Natal Sun (unafflicted) is the center of it all, with the other most-foreground planets being equally divided between benefics (t Venus & Uranus) and malefics (r Mars & Saturn). Despite some security-threatening aspects, this does seem to say that, overall, the world is better to me than I am to the world. -- OTOH, given the sparsity of closely angular planets, one might conclude that this isn't all that important a lunar (and I would conclude that were the triple conjunction, and its connection to natal factors, not so compelling).
NOTE: T Neptune is within 0°03' of natal Moon ecliptically, and Jupiter 0°58' from conjunct Moon mundanely, though all background. Eris is 0°03' from square my Mars.

I want to record a bit of aftermath review on the Arizona adventure for this demi-lunar. The bottom line is that there was nothing so black-and-white obvious that it either decisively confirmed or contradicted my working theories, though the general outcome seems consistent and agreeable with those theories.
The trip was worthwhile for its own sake. Astrologically, the location brought a natal Moon-Pluto mundane opposition into alignment, brought it foreground, and placed transiting Jupiter aspecting both of them. The "It's good to get away!" symbolism was surprisingly literal.
My view of location and return charts boils down to this:
- Like a natal or any other chart, a solar or lunar return has the angles of wherever it comes into being - it's "birthplace" - and relocates when we move somewhere else.
- Lunar returns, like Moon herself, are highly fluid and adaptable. One simply cannot ignore either the original or relocated angles. Both seem indistinguishably descriptive.
- Solar returns, like Sun himself, are far more stable. The original location's angles persist powerfully, unshakably. When one relocates after it sets up, there is small (but only small) impact of the "relocated" angles, and they seem receptive to transits (but not nearly as much as the original angles).
How does this match the last month's experience?
The LA demi-lunar is a heavy Saturn chart within an already difficult SLR. The Arizona demi-lunar is Jupiter-dominated (to the minute) with Sun nearly as strong. Among other conditions, we're struggling with some (hopefully short-term) financial burdens that (perhaps because of the simultaneous Neptune transits) feel threatening. The compounded SLR and DSLR seemed way too much. The opportunity to have the demi set up under Jupiter seemed worth the experiment.
The outcome is that the biggest pending matters were deflected (at least for the moment). The background problems still remain, amplified by February always having the shortest paychecks of the year (fewest working days). Little things kept falling in the "mixed but leaning positive" category, like getting an unexpected long day of weekend overtime that will hit my next check (then discovering that, because of the
exact law and where a holiday fell, most of that day gets paid as straight time instead of OT: so it's still
good for bringing a few hundred extra, but
not quite as good because it's fewer hundred than I first thought). The emotional mood was overall lighter than it had been.
So, the adventure paid for itself very well. The last two weeks have been far more positively toned than expected.

March 17, 2022, 2:58 PM PDT - I'll likely be at work, so calculating for Century City. (My desk is at 34N03'31", 118W24'59".)
Impressions: No SSR themes are echoed. The great strength of natal Jupiter-Uranus minutes from an angle plus a moderately foreground Venus stands approximately matched against two Marses and a Neptune (but with the natal Jupiter having the advantage). Natal and transiting planets both have a mix of benefics and malefics, suggesting a mixed-tone month, but the acute angularity of natal Jupiter (0°01' at home) likely will tip it positive. Pluto's transit to natal Jupiter-Uranus dominates and there are some pretty ugly other aspects: I don't know which way this will tip. After that, the next closest aspects show disappointment. Surroundings are quite passionate: Reason is not the theme of the fortnight.
In addition to the following, transiting Eris is 0°10' from MC, 0°05' from square my Mars, and conjunct transiting Mars (1°23' M) and opposite natal Neptune (1°22' M).

So far, the predominant aspect - transiting Pluto opposite natal Jupiter-Uranus, all angular and aspecting each other within minutes - has been
clearly positive through what (from one or two points of view) could be viewed as difficult, strained conditions. In brief, in a situation where I held two titles (one outranking the other) and had long intended to fully delegate the lesser of them, I completed years of prep to do exactly that - appoint someone else to the more visible and clearly lesser title, retaining the higher title, and free up great amounts of energy while stabilizing a tense situation. (BTW, don't underestimate the power of Mars' transit to natal Saturn to beneficially break up logjams and break loose stuck energy.)
In a sense, multiple, competing sides of the transit manifest at once.

So far, this has been quite clear. All of the main events of the month thus far have involved my needing to assume and assert authority. Part of that has required conflict (one might say battle), though most of simply been me operating in my best form at things that come naturally for me. Also, quite a lot of stuck energy broke loose and things are definitely in motion.

Mike was discussing anticipated interpretive features in TMSA down the road. I said solunars would be the hardest. What follows is quite crude (the text has to be polished more), but is an example of how an initial effort might be structured.
SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN April 26, 2022, 7:23:21 PM PDT, Los Angeles, CA
(EFFECTIVE April 25 to May 23) This month is more difficult than easy, but not without its redeeming features. Notable permanent shifts or changes occur in your life circumstances.
STRONGEST PLANETARY VOICES:
TRANSITING SUN (100%). Receiving special attention (somehow in the spotlight). Encounters with "authorities." Honor, achievement, recognition.

Already salivating over this for TMSA 0.7. I'm thinking of a module that reads the .txt file for a chart, and looks up relevant sentences in a small database.

by Jim Eshelman
May 11, 2022, 9:55:04 AM PDT. Calculated for my office.
Benefic 277, Malefic 186, Change = 209, Shine = 219
Add: Dignity 283 vs. Indignity 183. Sudden Luck (277), Sex (233), Vulnerability-Sensitivity (229), and Shifting Conditions (213) are all higher than average.
Impressions: Technically echoes the Venus-Jupiter theme of the SSR, but this is a minor chart with no close angularities by either natal or transiting planets. Expect minor expressions of the primary aspects, with an emphasis on natal Mars and Sun under an umbrella of transiting Venus-Jupiter. (Moon conjoins Mars-Neptune, which would concern me except it's background.) I suspect it is mostly referring to the final preparation and psychological onramp to our vacation, which starts shortly after this chart expires.
r Jupiter on Asc -9°40'
r Uranus on Asc -9°12'
t Pluto on Dsc -8°40'
t Venus on MC -6°18'
r Mars on Dsc -3°20'
-------------------------- [t Ve/Ju = MC 0°34']
t Jupiter on MC +5°10'
r Sun on N +1°37'

-- t Venus sq. r Jupiter 3°22' M
-- r Jupiter-Uranus 0°17'

Here is a crude sample of what an automated interpretation might look like. All of this stuff needs rework, but I'm trying to keep attention on it for a while to refine the approach a bit. I think it's still pretty clumsy.
SIDEREAL DEMI-LUNAR RETURN May 11, 2022, 9:55:04 AM PDT, Century City, CA
(EFFECTIVE May 10 to Ma 24) This will be a good period with blessings outweighing difficulties. Dignity, esteem, and respect for you increase along with a general sense of well-being. This return chart is not too important, though: It will color the time, but its events have little long-term consequence.
STRONGEST PLANETARY VOICES
NATAL MARS (97%). You are aggressive, competitive, physically expressive, assertive, irritating, willful, sexually adamant.
NATAL SUN (92%). Identity is brought under consideration. Assertiveness, direction. Pride, authority, desire for recognition. Vitality.
TRANSITING VENUS (89%). Affection received. Relationships are a central issue. Surroundings pleasant, harmonious, soft.
TRANSITING JUPITER (76%). Fortune coming from without. Esteem, respect, recognition, honors, material gain, elevation, gifts, advantage, opportunities, luck.
DYNAMIC EXPRESSIONS:
T PLUTO op R JUPITER (100%). Major shifts in status, finances, rank, or reputation. Significant shifts in career or life-direction (usually positive). Being more in charge of one’s personal affairs. Possible alienation through superiority.
T VENUS-PLUTO sq (89%). Climaxes, turning-points, or precedents in the emotional, social, or sexual life; figuratively elopement, divorce, or both. Examples include one's first tangible erotic experiments, marriage, or birth of a child; a confrontation or show-down with a friend or romantic partner; or any "no looking back" juncture in an important relationship or in one's relationship to one's social or sexual life.
T VENUS sq R URANUS (84%). Mental/emotional refreshment and excitement. Rejuvenation. Seeking romantic/esthetic variations; exploring new avenues of pleasure. Relationship stress possible.
T VENUS sq. R MARS (83%). Enthusiasm, emotional vitality. Playful. Soothes interpersonal frictions. Sexual desire and attraction; perhaps intense sexual action. Teasing, horseplay; other pleasure from aggression.
R JUPITER -URANUS sq (100%). Progress, achievement through atypical paths, surprising luck.
R SUN-JUPITER sq (84%). Royal, blessed, identity linked to aspiration & recognition.

May 24, 2022, 12:49:22 AM PDT. I'll be home.
Benefic = 178, Malefic = 191, Change = 303, Spotlight = 248
Dignity 237 vs. Indignity 161
Impressions: No SSR themes echo here. The chart is simple - a strong solar presence dominates in the context of Class 2 Saturn, Uranus, and Mercury angularities. (I'm not crazy about Saturn opposite natal Pluto across EP/WP.) I think much of what this chart shows is planned travel (especially with non-foreground partile aspects of Venus to natal Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune), though there likely will be other circumstances arise.
t Saturn on Asc -5°30'
t Sun on IC -0°18'

t Uranus on N +1°45'
t Mercury on IC +5°16'
r Pluto on WP-a +2°05'
t Saturn op. r Pluto 2°01'
t Mercury sq. r Pluto 2°08'
I will be travelling to Chicago a few days later for Marion's annual birthday trip. Once in Chicago, the chart looks like this, with a tight Moon-Mars-Jupiter (+Neptune) collusion, so it's likely to be adventurous and expensive:
Benefic = 232, Malefic = 211, Change = 156, Spotlight = 300
Dignity 225 vs. Indignity 272
r Sun on Dsc -6°16'
t Jupiter on Asc -0°52'

For the chart as it exists in Chicago:
SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN May 24, 2022, 2:49:22 AM CDT, Chicago, IL
(EFFECTIVE May 23 to Jun 20) This period is positive on balance, with a few difficulties to overcome. Events now feel more personal to you, including receiving unusual attention from someone important to you that you value. This return chart is unusually important, with potential for outstanding events that prove unusually important in your life.
STRONGEST PLANETARY VOICES:
TRANSITING MARS (100%). Aggression received. Atmosphere tense, heated, irritating, confronting. Presence of competition, energy, assertion, drive. Injuries, physical discomfort. Sexual bounty.
TRANSITING MOON (100%). Hyper-reactive (and vulnerable) to environment. Surrounded by emotional excitement, rapid and excessive motion, unstable conditions and change. Appetites easily aroused. Popular attention.
TRANSITING JUPITER (100%). Fortune coming from without. Esteem, respect, recognition, honors, material gain, elevation, gifts, advantage, opportunities, luck.
TRANSITING NEPTUNE (99%). Exaggerated state of emotional excitement. Temptation, seduction (pleasure-oriented; impressionable). Dependency, victimization, altered reality. Efforts diluted, frustration, "avoidance" behavior. Drama, music, fantasy, mysticism, etc.
DYNAMIC EXPRESSIONS:
T MOON-MARS co (100%). Circumstances arouse an inflamed emotional response, inciting anger (irritation, friction, strife, temper, intolerance, discontent, quarrels, fights) and inflaming passions (strongly sexual). Drive, feeling strength; highly competent, productive, hasty, busy); needs elbow room and freedom to act (won't be held back, wants to be left alone). Environment seems threatening, harsh, challenging, primed for things to go wrong; others seem critical, threatening, emotionally unsafe, attacking (being target of accusations, frame-ups, or revenge). Ending with wounds to lick, acts to avenge, or repair bills to pay (accidents, injuries, fire, blood, even violence). Possible sickness or physical discomfort (inflammation, fever, colds or flu; poor physical economy; muscle pains, boils, inflamed sores).
T MARS-JUPITER co (99%). Competitive victory, achievement, sexual enthusiasm, and buoyant excessiveness are all possible. Most typically economic crisis, trouble through money: One way or another (some self-originated, some from outside circumstances), one ends up poorer, e.g., wasteful spending, excessive generosity, poor investments, theft, or falling prey to schemes. (Can mark greedily pursuing money or power through illegal ways.)
T MOON-JUPITER co (98%). Circumstances give reason to be joyful, enthusiastic, optimistic, happy, good-humored. Receiving honors, elevation, opportunities, advantages, gifts (others are generous, supportive, encouraging; red carpet treatment). Heightened esteem, pride, dignity, and profit. Satisfaction of ambitions, feeling of personal specialness. One's standing is bettered (growing prosperity). Financially beneficial (money matters go well), lucky, even a miracle-worker (receipt of large sums, winning prizes, bounty). Money, investments, loans, and property require attention, usually to one's advantage. Favors candidates for public office or otherwise seeking public approval or appeal. Diplomacy and elitism prevail. Fewer adversities than usual.
T MOON-NEPTUNE co (92%). Circumstances give reason to be joyful, enthusiastic, optimistic, happy, good-humored. Receiving honors, elevation, opportunities, advantages, gifts (others are generous, supportive, encouraging; red carpet treatment). Heightened esteem, pride, dignity, and profit. Satisfaction of ambitions, feeling of personal specialness. One's standing is bettered (growing prosperity). Financially beneficial (money matters go well), lucky, even a miracle-worker (receipt of large sums, winning prizes, bounty). Money, investments, loans, and property require attention, usually to one's advantage. Favors candidates for public office or otherwise seeking public approval or appeal. Diplomacy and elitism prevail. Fewer adversities than usual.
T MARS-NEPTUNE co (89%). Toxic either to the body or psyche. Most commonly magnified emotions (from dread to terror), amplified perception of threat: anxious, fearful, anticipating danger or misfortune (often fantasized). Feeling vulnerable to abuse, attack, betrayal; one's soft spots are exposed (any neurotic tendencies amplified); feeling the ground fall out from under one’s feet. Increasing risk of treachery, sabotage, other betrayal, poisoned relationships, public ridicule, scandal. Possibly health-debilitating: extreme reactions to drugs, chemicals, tainted food, or other toxins. Enthusiastic surrender to temptation (e.g. heightened holiday spirits and indulgence) have stronger consequences than usual.
R MOON-PLUTO op (84%). Anomalous instincts, emotional eruption, purging automatic patterns.

This occurs next Tuesday evening and should be felt by Monday evening. I'm still off work through Tuesday and will be home. The chart easily summarizes as transiting Mercury-Saturn to natal Venus-Pluto, which seems a little interpersonally tense. (The scores below show that it is neither particularly benefic nor malefic leaning, but I'm a tiny bit in the spotlight. An experimental scoring for Personal Loss hits 245, the strongest measurement for the return.)
June 7, 2022, 6:21:29 PM PDT. Calculated for home.
Benefic = 184, Malefic = 156, Change = 174, Spotlight = 201
Impressions: No echoes of SSR themes. The chart has a balance of malefics and benefics (benefics slightly stronger), but the aspects lean toward an unhappy time. Natal Venus-Pluto, partile and in Class 1 angularity, suggest an "outstanding event." Transiting Sedna setting (partile conjunct Mercury) may need to be considered. [Sedna on Dsc 2°43', t Mercury-Sedna conjunction 0°50' mundo, Sedna op. Venus 2°21' & sq. r Pluto 2°08'.]
Experimental automated summary: "Events now feel more personal to you, including receiving unusual attention from someone important to you that you value. This return chart is unusually important, with a likely pivotal event of unusual consequence."

June 20, 2022, 7:01:22 AM PDT. Calculated for home (it's a holiday).
Benefic = 177, Malefic = 188, Change = 172, Spotlight = 336
Dignity = 341, Indignity = 182
Impressions: This is a minor SLR of little real consequence and no echoes of SSR themes. The dual Suns are clearest and otherwise we see no close angularity. It brings Moon-Neptune back but with a sense of (perhaps inflated, or merely enthusiastic) confidence and strength, rather than the usual deflation and frailty.
r Mars on Dsc -6°48'
t Jupiter on MC -6°39'
r Sun on N -1°47'

t Neptune on MC +5°39'
t Moon on MC +7°49'
-- t Jupiter sq. r Mars 0°09' M

The Vulnerability-Sensitivity scale is 293, reflecting the Neptune-Moon once more foreground and close enough to draw attention.

NATAL SUN (92%). Identity is brought under consideration. Assertiveness, direction. Pride, authority, desire for recognition. Vitality.
TRANSITING NEPTUNE (92%). Absorption in or by something. Exaggerated responses (vulnerable, embarrassment, anxiety). Physical/emotional sensitivity, idealism (easily frustrated; self-doubt). Imagination (selective perception, confusion). "Avoidance" behavior.
TRANSITING SUN (91%). Receiving special attention. Encounters with "authorities." Honor, achievement, recognition.
TRANSITING JUPITER (88%). Fortune coming from without. Esteem, respect, recognition, honors, material gain, elevation, gifts, advantage, opportunities, luck.
NATAL MARS (88%). One is aggressive, competitive, physically expressive, assertive, irritating, willful, sexually adamant.
Dynamic Expressions
T JUPITER sq R MARS (100%). Excellence in physical, aggressive, or competitive matters: sex, sports, war, business, etc. Energy, enthusiasm, immoderation, self-will. Enterprising, self-assured.
T MOON-NEPTUNE co (93%). Heightened sensitivity, vulnerability, exaggerated feeling responses (impressionable, easily wounded, psychic overload, withdraws; or attuned to others, empathic, psychic, sympathetic). Easily seduced, enchanted (deceived, exploited; plans fail). Embarrassment (shame, humiliation, ridicule, disgrace). Feeling cornered, plotted against, threatened (may be actual or fantasy). Worry, fear of rejection, frustration, anxiety, confusion, disorientation, uncertainty, mood swings, and an undermined sense of security. Danger from toxins and poisons, rancid foods, drugs, alcohol.

To my surprise, I got sick this week. It feels like a light Covid case, but the tests are negative (I'm not sure how accurately quick-testing works with current strains, and not worth going across town to get a better test that won't come in until next week anyway). The surprise is that the one thing most obvious about my current SLR is that both Suns are angular, and the one thing that is usually most obvious with angular Sun is heightened vitality.
I did note that the vulnerability-sensitivity scale is a high number, since Neptune is again in orb of my Moon (mundanely) - and they're foreground, though not the closest. If that's the key, then I misinterpreted (see below) how the various pieces went together.
The only thing I see that describes the condition is a Class 2 foreground aspect. In theory, I've always accepted these, but solunars have
so many aspects when Class 2 is included (plus the closer aspects usually tell the story) that I've stopped listing them for the last few years. But in this case, that closely angular transiting Sun conjoins transiting Neptune 3°49'. Certainly close enough to be a valid aspect. Perhaps I need to start listing these again when there isn't already an overflow of aspects.

The main event of the SLR during its first two weeks was getting sick, something that has filled most of the fortnight in one degree or another. This is quite a surprise with two Suns shining, though on final assessment it also had Neptune aspecting two luminaries foreground (at the same time Neptune is aspecting the square of progressed Sun-Moon).
Unusual and (consistent with Neptune) it snuck up on me.
I'm curious whether the demi will bring out some of the original expectations with the exact Sun-Sun aspect foreground, or whether natal Neptune will now take a strong lead. More on that in the next post.
