Hello, i’m new to Astrology and recently discovered sidereal. I was wondering if somebody could please help me to interpret my natal chart. I was born at 7:59 pm Oceanside 1/8/1982. Thank you.

Taran, welcome to Solunars. - I'll do a basic workup (a summary of the individual strong components of your chart) and post it here shortly. Meanwhile, did you have specific questions? Or were you just interested in a general overview to get a feel for your natal chart viewed Sidereally?

Do you still live in Oceanside? Your current residence will be important for any future predictive (period analysis) questions you may have.

At a glance of your chart, my eye lands on the gracious triple combination of Mercury-Venus-Jupiter in contrast to the harsher Moon-Mars and Sun-Saturn combinations. Keep an eye out for these in the summary I'll post shortly.

These notes on your Sidereal Natal Horoscope are provided for your reference and study. They are not a full interpretation of your birth chart. Rather, they are building blocks from which a full interpretation can be built.

Each factor below contributes to your character. The paragraphs may repeat or contradict each other (we all have contradictions). While it does not take an astrologer to fuse these factors into a balanced picture of you and your life, it does require knowledge of human behavior and how we support and sabotage ourselves. Your astrologer can help you in this life-long undertaking of knowing yourself. Read these notes slowly: Feel your way through the interweaving ideas, reflecting on what you know of yourself.

Character is destiny. Who you are determines the life that is yours to unfold. “Know thyself” is the key.

The paragraphs are brief. We have sought to pack in everything essential, to use few words to imply much more. Not every phrase will apply, of course. Some will be more important than others; but the gist of each section should clearly reflect truth about you. When you have spent time with this and have new questions, consult your astrologer to discuss them.

MOON in GEMINI
Curious, mentally quick, talkative (engaging, charming). Needs attention, approval, inclusion. Stability from companionship (does better when paired). Playful, loves games. Versatile, needs diversity, restless. Interests shift, varied, multiple, driven by shifting passions. Sensitive (intuitive, psychic), cagey, touchy, withdraws, hides.

Moon square Mars (0°34' mundo)
Active and reactive, temperamental, thinks and acts rapidly. Detests idleness, rarely still. Driven, competent, ambitious. Impatient, acerbic, irritable. Frank and sharp-tongued (hence friction in close relationships). Needs physical, emotional, and mental “room to breathe” (little domestic instinct). Substance abuse not uncommon. Sexual needs strong, almost irrepressible (the women are often sexual firecrackers, notable for the speed and intensity of their climaxes).

Moon trine Jupiter (2°09')
Desires success. Drawn to quality. Good-humored, entertaining, kind, generous (natural host). Social elitism (may feign aristocracy). Strong beliefs (religious or patriotic intensity, morality, judgment).

SUN in SAGITTARIUS
Desires respect, elevation, achievement (“higher and higher,” rank, excellence). Generous, hospitable. Loyal to tribe. Principled (stubborn, stiff). Easily ascends to pulpit or lectern. Right-wrong, reward-punishment: judges self and others (may fail own standards). Respects continuity of culture, social rituals, civilization’s fruits. Preserves status quo, heritage, myth. Serial passions. Complacent affection.

Sun octile Uranus (0°28')
Go their own way, unapologetically following their own paths, persuaded that they are a special case. Easily bored. Loves freedom: bows to no outside authority. Progressive, future-oriented, uninhibited by convention. Self-perspective usually founded in objectivity.

Sun square Saturn (3°15')
Effective survivors, self-sufficient, diligent, accomplishing. Few luxuries; prefers private, modest accommodations. Authority issues to overcome (paternal). Serious, yet good sense of humor. Circumstances force early maturation (childhood hardships common).

MARS in VIRGO
Strategic, analytical, logical, calculating odds (perhaps deceitful, covert, manipulative, game-playing). Very smart, curious, astute, eager to learn everything possible (intelligence is more accessible than feelings). Stands ready to assist, help, support.

Mars trine Venus (2°47')
Passion (in all senses), feels powerfully about things, seeks vivid experiences. Sexual passions mature early, continue late, rarely encumbered by too many conditions. Fun-loving, loves romance: interesting, likable, sociable horny people.

MERCURY in CAPRICORN
A quiet (playfully perverse) pride in their disagreeable opinions and autonomous thinking. Enjoys shock value of spouting unusual ideas. Mind inquisitive, enthusiastic, with a sense of the macabre. Resists being convinced. Careful, methodical; structures information effectively.

Mercury square Jupiter (1°53')
Love of ideas and learning. Easy “way with words,” comfortable speaking, reassuring in speech and manner. Well-formed speech has marks of a good education (whether true or not). Good-tempered, kind; may seem shallower than they are. Optimistic, religious style of thinking, e.g., “gambler’s roll” (don’t disturb their “hope and vision” with contradictory facts!). Good business potential (perhaps from raw luck more than skill) and always looking for the next opportunity or lucky break. Poorly suited to a fixed schedule or routine.

Mercury conjunct Venus (2°08')
Gracious expression, charmer, persuasive, “sweet talker.” Light-hearted, pleasant. Enjoys learning (learns easily). Probably a happy childhood; retains a playful, childlike sense, a charm of immaturity.

Mercury sextile Uranus (2°13')
Independent thinker. Curious and investigative. Mind unfettered by formality solves problems and integrates data more intuitively. Rejects linearity; lacks rigor. Diverse interests, often unusual. Speech is engaging, usually has something interesting to say. Challenges convention or authority, speaks despite consequences (stubborn, pedantic). Gently rebellious, socially odd.

Mercury square Pluto (3°02' mundo)
Unusual thinking, not beholden to convention. Investigates, thinks deeply about things. Mind may ride the edge of normalcy (may slip off): enthusiasm, excitability, possible burnout. Challenging, confrontational (alienates?), impatient (irritable, easily frustrated). Instinct for abstractions.

VENUS in CAPRICORN
Dutiful/devoted to family/loved ones (secures own freedom and pleasure within that). Tenacious once committed. Paternal themes in their partnering: one party plays a father role (be alert for parent-child dynamics). Sociable, outgoing. Focus on common interests with friends. Beasts in bed. Pride themselves on self-sufficiency.

Venus square Jupiter (0°15')
Fundamentally social creatures. Warm, friendly, giving, hospitable, gracious. Nearly always liked (great need to be liked, desires positive attention and appreciation more than most, usually gets it). Feels most at home in a fine lifestyle (or as celebrity, etc.). Indulgent in all oral pleasures, e.g., preparing and eating fine food. Usually has an easier time through life despite sometimes harsh starts (experience unusual luck or patronage), usually partner well. Inclination to extravagance, possible “spoiled brat” attitude (mild narcissism).

Taran, I have saved a few notes separate from the above. As astronomers discover new planets, astrologers need time to investigate whether they are important and what they may mean. This is where we are right now with a distant planet named Sedna. We think we know some things about Sedna, but it's still in the exploration and investigative stage.

Your important Mercury-Venus-Jupiter combination also aspects Sedna:

10°49' Capricorn - Mercury
11°43' Aries - Sedna
12°42' Libra - Jupiter
12°58' Capricorn - Venus

Here are possible interpretations for your three strong Sedna aspects. I'd be interested in your feedback on how accurate these are:

Mercury square Sedna (0°54')
Atypical mind capable of significant insight outside of usual frameworks (Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Friedrich Engels, Mary-Louise von Franz). May seem a bit mad to others. May find themselves adjacent to power or celebrity. Strategist (may strategize revenge).

Jupiter opposite Sedna (0°59')
Innovators, ambitious. Myth is core to their personal and public power, either by invoking a mythic context or embodying an archetype (or character). May wield a belief system as a tool of power and control (often horrific, not always so). Among the successful, their name, character, or act make a powerful imprint on their time.

Venus square Sedna (1°15')
Gorgeous, sexy, libertine, charming, often with a wicked sense of humor. Visceral, powerfully feeling, wild and colorful imagination. Women are called to ancient, primal expressions of femininity while wielding significant public power.
