Pauline Phillips, aka Abigail van Buren - "Dear Abby" - has died.

What a magnificent example of Gemini! Two twin sisters (married in a double ceremony) became newspaper advice columnist institutions. They defined the medium! Everyone since them is essentially "later versions of Dear Abby and Ann Landers."

Abby and her sister (who died June 22, 2002) were both born July 3, 1918, in Sioux City, IA. There is ambiguity about the birthtime. People reported that they were born 17 minutes apart. (A date ambiguity was resolved by a personal letter from Abby to Lois Rodden.) Different birthtimes given include 10:09 and 10:00 AM as "personal" information to Marc Penfield, and 9:52 AM per Steinbrecher. - This sounds like the birth time was 8 or 9 minutes different, and one was born at 10:00 - with ambiguity about which was the older.
