Lesser known than two other celebrity deaths that occurred over the weekend, Sandra Giles, who was one of the memorable "blond bombshells" of movies and pin-ups in an earlier age, died Sunday night in Los Angeles.
She was born July 24, 1932 in Hooker, OK, time unknown. She was a Cancer-Pisces or Cancer-Aries (I suspect the latter), probably with a Moon-Uranus square Pluto that helped her stand out. She rarely shied from controversy, as her stream of celebrity romances across the decades attest.
I've known her for years - not well, but enough that she recognized me by sight when she saw me, even when she could no longer remember names easily. Marion and I are friends with her daughter, and we were at the house Saturday night. I thought she'd been fading, from bits of conversation, so I talked to her companion and her daughter, both of whom said she wasn't well. We got a text the next evening that she'd passed.
Note the partile Sun-Saturn - despite celebrity, she had struggles, and seems never to have shirked them. She was courageous and had a warm, magnetic way of connecting - at parties, dozens of friends would make sure to spend time with her. In her last years, she loved swing dancing. If you're interested in old Hollywood, it's worth looking up a few YouTubes that have interviews or clips, including her most famous film, Daddy-O.
Uranus had finished one complete orbit in her life, then pulled back to get ready for another geocentric pass. There were 't any notable transits at the end, though.
If you want to experiment with a speculative chart, I suggest 6:30 PM. Note in particular the SLR for the birth of her daughter February 27, 1952, Los Angeles (Venus exactly rising, Moon on IC). It also gives her current (final) SLR with Saturn exactly on IC. It also gives a closely angular Moon for a noteworthy "pin-up girl" of her time.
