West Virginia's deadliest natural disaster ever was the Great Appalachian Storm of November 1950.

November 24-30, 1950. The storm formed in West Virginia sometime on the morning of November 24, 1950 (use 9 AM as an estimate). Charleston (the capital) is as good a location to use as any, and perhaps the most relevant.

353 people died (160 of them in WV). $66.7M in damage. 57" of rain fell. Though spread across a third of the U.S. (22 states), it stands out as WV's deadliest natural disaster. In Concord, NH winds reached 160 mph, which is strong hurricane level, and a million people lost power. "At the time, U.S. insurance companies paid more money out to their policy holders for damage resulting from this cyclone than for any other previous storm of hurricane." In WV, Parkersburg had over 34" of show, Pickens had 57", and this "remarkably heavy snow" caused 160 deaths. - It looks like WV got the early end, because the storm formed in North Carolina (morning of 11/24) and moved up. By evening of 11/25 it was in Ohio.

The build-up is shown pretty well, but the CapQ is meticulously on target, maturing a Moon-Saturn aspect that comes right to the angles for the event. The Bridge narrows it to a few days, and the CapQ brings it to the day.
