When studying various events of the Kennedy administration for
SMA, I kept noticing that Kennedy's charts were threatening his entire term. Almost any point in the last two years of his life could have looked like assassination charts or similar sneak attacks. This was the very peak of the Cold War and the CMC is as close to a peak event of the era as you're going to find.
The only reason BTW that it's not in
SMA is that it doesn't fit into any category studied. I posted a mundane astrology breakdown of it about five years ago here:

It's possibly the most significant transiting Mars-Saturn opposition in modern history! (The opposition from Cancer to Capricorn stretched through the whole period, peaking on October 21.)
But, as Steve mentioned, Kennedy's charts were (to understate) difficult. He spent his entire term of office managing Cold War realities. The build-up in Cuba began over the summer. Though the State Department had the key information the night before (by 8:30 PM October 15), JFK first learned at his morning briefing on October 16 - and events unfolded from there, across about two weeks.
His SSR from May 3, 1962 (Steve's example above) is utterly clear. It's greatest weakness is that it speaks so loudly of war that (from an astrological perspective) it's almost disappointing we didn't have open warfare. But war it was, and war (with strong statesmanship shining through) is what the SSR shows. Transiting Mars 0°39' from EP, natal Mars 0°18' from Asc, natal Jupiter 3° below Asc. (Plenty of Eris, too: Transiting Eris was 0°11' from Asc, 0°07' from conjunct natal Mars
mundo.) These set the tone. Then, wider two Neptunes and some natal Saturn.
Moon told the rest: Partile conjunct Mars (mundane), closely square natal Saturn. An astonishing Mars transit to his Neptune AND Neptune transit to his Mars and Saturn. (Perhaps you see why I think this is as likely an assassination chart as the one in '63: The forces were already in motion.)
His September 27 SLR is interesting in entirely different ways. The entire crisis (except for cleanup) occurred in the four weeks of this SLR. If matters were only left to the SSR, I'd have expected Kennedy to go all-in on war. Instead, he resolved the matter with artful diplomacy, creating entirely new language and approaches that surely was the basis of our all surviving the Cold War without a single intentional nuclear explosion. What the SLR shows is perhaps much surprise but, I think, even more, enormous inventiveness and ingenuity aimed at victory through diplomacy.
Two Uranuses take the lead: Transiting Uranus 0°07' from Asc, natal Uranus 0°59' from WP-a. Transiting Jupiter nearly ties them, 1°24' off Descendant. (Lesser angularities include transiting Pluto and natal Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter.)
The key is in the aspects: A transiting Jupiter-Uranus opposition (1°18'
in mundo) is the guts of the chart. Add to this a mundane Jupiter-Pluto opposition (2°24') which fits the above plus describes Cold War political intrigue admirably. This is the chart that let him save us.
Additionally, Kennedy had all of his best resources about him. His natal Mercury-Mars-Jupiter conjunction square Uranus was foreground.
