Tennessee's deadliest natural disaster was the March 1952 Southern United States tornado outbreak.

On March 21-22, 1952, 34 tornadoes appeared over 25 hours.209 people died, at least 1,212 were injured, damages were $19.5M. 67 died in Tennessee. The highest death toll (38) was in the Hardeman, Chester, and Henderson region, where the tornado hit at 5:30 UT (11:30 PM CST on the 21st). In Henderson, "120 home were destroyed and 260 received damage... 23 people died."
