Robbie Coltrane RIP

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Hagrid has died. May the roar of the beasts rise up from the forests and dragons belch forth their grief.

I speak, of course, of the remarkable actor Robbie Coltrane, born (according to his birth record) March 31, 1950, 3:00 AM GMT, Glasgow, Scotland. He played Hagrid in the Harry Potter films having already established himself as a comedic and dramatic force on stage and screen.

And what better signature for a great actor of stage and screen than a Pisces Sun, Leo Moon, and Sun closely angular (on the Nadir). It's easy today to find dozens of online articles with stories of people who knew him and worked with him - the chart is a brilliant fit. He also had Pluto and Uranus angular, and J.K. Rowling, speaking of his uniqueness, called him "a true one-off." (Oh, I almost missed: Pluto also conjoined Moon 0°45' mundo.)

No cause of death has been rele4ased by the family, though his agent did say he'd been sick for two years. He died in Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, Scotland. For the 3:00 AM birth time, transiting Saturn is just past EP-a (it might have been exact, if we was born slightly past the hour).

His October 6 Demi-SLR had Uranus precisely rising (02') and Saturn within a degree of Zenith. Natal Neptune is precisely on WP. It looks like a chart of weakening, though the foreground aspects are primarily positive (we likely will hear in time that he "died peacefully"). The number of mundane aspects is huge. Here is the Demi-SLR.

Simply stripping out the Class 3 angularities simplifies it enormously: and makes the primary message much clearer:
