Elvis and Priscilla Presley's only daughter has had a dramatic life - some notable artistic successes and a great deal of personal drama including significant personal tragedy. Her chart is a fine example worthy of study.

With a Capricorn Sun and her father's Aquarius Moon, the chart shows both gifts and difficulties. Sun is her only foreground planet. Her Moon-Pluto opposition and Venus-Saturn square are her closest, strongest aspects, and Mercury's ties to Jupiter and Neptune are closer in mundo than in eclipto. Moon conjoins Mars rather closely.

I know of no particular health problems she's suffered. I'd estimate that her greatest vulnerabilities are inflammatory afflictions in the Aquarius body parts (heart and circulatory system) and problems related to Moon-Pluto (irregular menstruation, lost pregnancy, highly anomalous and unlikely medical conditions, profound psychological impact of events e.g. PTSD, eruptions or disorders of the psyche, etc.) and Venus-Saturn (glandular abnormalities or disorders; thyroid, kidney, or blood sugar disorders; calcium metabolism disorders; heart disorders, trouble with reproductive system, etc.). - But I have no data on any of this.

With the Capricorn Sun (and strong solar nature), we expect her to be especially father-imprinted - strongly motivated by her relationship with her father, father figures, and men who remind her of her father somehow. In contrast, the strongest maternal indicator, Moon, has rough aspects - I'd expect quarrels and hard conflict, though I have no solid information to substantiate this - while Aquarius Moon in general shows distance from family, especially from mother. In fact, she's have probably had a healthier development if she's simply been able to take off from her family and not look into the rear-view mirror, but that probably wasn't the most reasonable path (given her conditions) and, in any case, isn't the one she picked. - The Venus-Saturn square probably also relates to paternal impact on her sense of intimate relationship.

I don't see the MC-IC axis particularly reflecting her parents or her relationship with them. True, Priscilla has a Libra Moon and may be reflected in the Libra end of Lisa Marie's meridian (IC), but I don't see Aries as describing Elvis or her relationship to him.

Lisa Marie has had five marriages (including the Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage), most or all of them quite dramatic and turbulent. She hasn't partnered well. My first take from the chart is something any amateur psychologist would pick up: She has daddy issues. The angular Capricorn Sun and close Venus-Saturn square (among other things) brings this immediately to the fore and also speaks to her relationship difficulty in general.

Her chart has several indications of being sexually driven (probably with an "I want to be bad-assed!" streak) but having sizable barriers to intimacy. (The latter is all over the chart.) She was born with an innate need to break other people's rules about sex and a natura curiosity and experimentalism. The two main messages, though, are the nearly rabid sexual needs combined with strong barriers to intimacy driven mostly by pain and loss. - One might consider 7H Sun conjunct Descendant as showing her apparent strong drive to be married.

She inherited great wealth and leveraged her inherited resources into several other streams of wealth, then has lost or spent all of it. Today, she is many millions of dollars in debt with small streams of income available to her. - This seems to be one way that Capricorn Sun unfolds (though, of course, it also goes the other way) plus the notorious money mismanagement (or neglect) of Aquarius Moon. She has one of the great wealth aspects - a very close Venus-Saturn square - which may be the astrological source of her inheritance in general (probably more so than it's loss). - In general, nothing in her chart leaps up as showing prosperity, although her Mercury-Jupiter opposition could be taken as a business aspect - but it's with Neptune. I think she is wired to trust to luck and whatever flows through (Mercury-Jupiter, Aquarius Moon), rather than to chase wealth (background Saturn). She claims she was defrauded by her business manager; I'm not in any place to know whether this is so, except that the Moon-Pluto partile aspect has a strong tendency to be victimized by others (probably an underlying need to have dramatic, life-uprooting experiences which, however, often show as victimization if one is not pursuing them otherwise).

Some would say that her strongly-aspected Moon-Mars conjunction in 8H shows such matters as inheritance and investment taking on extraordinary importance and embodying a lot of difficulties including outright struggle. Similarly, her 2H has Jupiter on the cusp (but minutes from mundane square to Neptune) plus Uranus and Pluto in the house, aligning with easy money and attachment to things related to heritage, yet turbulence and upset with respect to wealth.

Capricorns are dutiful parents with typical Saturn behaviors - ultimately distant, probably controlling (all subject to other chart factors). Her chart shows emotional distance in general (Capricorn-Aquarius, Moon-Pluto, Venus-Saturn) but (aside from being strongly sexual) having a strong desire to procreate, to continue herself (a kind of immortality) in a successor generation. Her Venus is background and primarily aspected by Saturn, which either reflects her idea toward children and how to parent, or her experience of it (she lost a son to suicide). Venus-Saturn people caretake dutifully and conscientiously but aren't known for emotional generosity. (She was born more prone to having daughters than sons.)

Many would credit her with this (though perhaps incorrectly). Her Capricorn Sun suggests hardship even amidst her birth nearly as nobility; and malefics have strong voices in her chart. Most astrologers probably would lump this in with bad fortune more than self-destruction. I don't see her as intentionally and overtly self-punishing (the definition I used to distinguish the self-destructive category). There are more indications, instead, of victimization or abuse (her tight Moon-Pluto aspect and Capricorn Sun, e.g.).

Of course, we have charts of both of her parents, so the possibilities of seeing the most important synastry of her early life.

She and her father both had Uranus on the other's MC. From Lisa Marie's side, that meant that Elvis' Venus-Uranus square and (with wider orbs) Venus-Uranus-Pluto T-square on her angles. What excitement, wonder, and fun (and perhaps instability of conditions) that meant! This is the father who had his private plane (named the "Lisa Marie") digress to the Colorado Rockies when his daughter mentioned she'd never seen snow. (They landed, she played in the snow a few minutes, and then they took off.) His Moon was less than a degree from opposite her Jupiter and closely conjunct her Mercury.

Her Moon fell on his IC - they were close - and he unleashed her Uranus (it was on his MC) as freely as his own. The few malefic aspects are so wide that they carry little weight - his Mars 5-6° from her Saturn, her Mars 4-5° from opposite his Neptune.


Lisa Marie clearly loves her mother: Her Venus is about 1° from Priscilla's Ascendant. However, what she gets back may be painful, since it falls closely opposite Priscilla's setting Saturn. This seems the early life anchoring of Lisa Marie's own Venus-Saturn square (and surely where she learned how to be a mother).

Similarly, extreme closeness and connection is shown by Lisa Marie's Sun 13' from square Priscilla's Moon (also square Mercury 03'); yet it also opposes Priscilla's Pluto, which shows distance, removal. The Pluto is on Lisa Marie's Ascendant, opposite her Sun, so I would expect Priscilla to try aggressively to mold and shape her daughter. Priscilla's Jupiter exactly opposite her daughter's Mars is broadly encouraging and strengthening, and probably also connected to Priscilla's turning the $5M Elvis estate into a $100M property before LM reached maturity.

Lisa Marie died January 12, 2023 after suffering cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, CA. (More will surely come forth about death details, but cardiac arrest is currently listed as the cause because the paramedics were called for that purpose.

Of the many complications that led to her father's death, cardiac arrest is also the primary and official immediate cause. They shared the heart-ruling Aquarius Moon.

She evidently collapsed earlier in the day. Paramedics were called. They resuscitated her on the way to the hospital. She died "later that day."

For now, we can use noon as a reasonable time for most purposes.

TRANSITS: I suspect there had been deterioration of her heart condition. Transiting Neptune conjoined natal Moon 0°28' while exiting partile conjunction soon for the final time. (It's easy for me to track her Moon since it is 0°10' from my own Moon.) Neptune was also opposite her Pluto (0°10'), so her Moon-Pluto opposition had been under its long-term transit.

Uranus had been squaring her Sun but no longer was in orb (will this appear on a return chart angle?); Uranus was still octile natal Uranus (0°23').

With her exact natal Venus-Saturn square, transiting Saturn octiled her Venus +0°17' and her Saturn -0°18' - the exact minute of their midpoint! This is a big deal. She's suffered enormous grief and loss throughout her life and had been openly discussing it in public during the last year. I suspect she died, both literally and metaphorically, of a broken heart. Some final emotional nail pierced her.

Venus conjoined her Sun. I won't speculate which of several possible meanings that had for the event.


CONVERSE TRANSITS: Since there is recent interest in these again, I'll take a quick look. c Pluto sq r Uranus was 0°00', which is eye-catching at the very least! c Neptune co r EP-a was exact within a few minutes. - While those are impressive, the full Moon that occurred in the converse transits about noon was aligned with her natal Jupiter, which seems wrong (but might mean something we don't yet know or understand). This is... interesting.


SECONDARY PROGRESSIONS: One aspect: Progressed Sun conjoined natal Saturn, just barely into the partile orb (0°55'), while square her Venus 0°20' - setting off the natal Venus-Saturn. It fits the symbolism both of heart attack and of the feelings of loss and grief boiling inside her.

TERTIARY PROGRESSIONS: Tert Mars and Uranus were opposed 0°01', suggesting an abrupt, sudden, perhaps physical event. If this was indeed an "out of the blue" heart attack, this is right on the mark. Also, for the way that I calculate Tert angles, P3 Saturn-MC are conjoined within 0°28'.

Tert Uranus at 14°13' Virgo has been setting off her natal Venus-Saturn for a long time. Then the exact Mars-Uranus opposition triggered this in a big way, timing the event closely. (Again, that natal Venus-Saturn is seen as pivotal to this event.) The Terts did quite well!


SOLAR ARCS: These are... strange. Interesting, perhaps valid, but also strange. Of course, she has d Sun = r Venus-Saturn just as in secondary progressions. She also has d Venus-Saturn to natal Jupiter which means... I'm not sure what. It does, of course, plus up natal Venus-Saturn being at the Sun/Jupiter midpoint, of course, and that might take us into considerable natal exploration.

Directed Jupiter is on her IC within 0°06'. Again, I'm not sure what this would mean, and yet it would theoretically be of utmost importance to those who favor solar arcs. - I'm not impressed with how they show.

The SSR, if it occurred in Calabasas, is all about Eris and Uranus' interactions with Eris. It gives nothing clear. One wonders if it occurred somewhere more to the east where Sun-Saturn would have been near Midheaven squared by Uranus, but I simply don't know.

SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN: There's a lot of Eris in this chart, too (variously mixed with Uranus and Pluto). Ignoring that it's basically a Uranus chart with some Saturn and Pluto. Fitting, but not exciting.

DEMI-SLR: Her demi-lunar occurred 4:27 AM ion Calabasas, with the closest aspects being natal Uranus 0°10' and natal Pluto 0°20' from Midheaven, putting a 0°10' Uranus-Pluto conjunction at MC. (At birth, she had a half-degree Moon-Pluto opposition which, of course, was foreground.) This is enough; but, for the details, her foreground natal Moon was square transiting STATIONARY Mars (1°20' mundo) and conjunct transiting Neptune (0°12' mundo). The Mars-Neptune square was 1°32' mundo. Neptune also opposed her exactly angular natal Pluto.

I'm stunned. - Here are the details so make it all clear (both in longitude and PVL, since some aspects go one way and some the other):

13°04' Tau - t Mars - 24°58' 6H stationary
27°34' Aqu - r Moon - 23°38' 3H
28°02 Aqu - t Neptune - 23°25' 3H
29°12' Leo - r Pluto - 0°20' 10H
4°33' Vir - r Uranus 0°10' 10H

I want to emphasize something you may not have caught: Lisa Marie's natal Moon was 0°10' from my own Moon - 27°34' Aquarius instead of 27°24' Aquarius. She was living in Calabasas on the north edge of Los Angeles - the same city where I live. Her Demi-SLR a few hours before her death had the same close Moon-Mars-Neptune trio foreground that I left town to avoid, thinking it likely would have adverse health impact: https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php? ... 521#p51351

Of course, her chart had different details (mostly additional details). Her natal Uranus and Pluto were conjoined on MC within 0°10' to signal a dramatic life-altering event, for example; and her Moon-Mars-Neptune, though very close, wasn't quite as foreground as mine (mine were within about a degree of the angles). Nonetheless, it's a very similar chart. While I didn't predict her death (it never would have occurred to me), I did explicitly predict an outstandingly bad result - especially a health crisis - for that demi-lunar. I just thought it was mine instead of hers.

She's have done much better coming to Arizona with Marion and me! (Or, better yet, she'd have done great spending the week in Las Vegas.)

Her SNQ has Venus' transiting conjunction to natal Sun exactly setting. As stated above, I don't know what this means. Natal Sun on Descendant is common enough for death, but the Venus-Sun transit has to have a particular meaning, probably something I don't know about. It's consistent with other signals that issues of love (perhaps love lost) or a particular love dominated her thoughts.

SQ Asc 1°16' Aries (at noon) squared SSR and transiting Plutos, punchy enough for such a decisive event. But SQ Moon is opposite natal Jupiter - and I don't know what that means.

PSSR (I'm, using the estimation method, likely accurate to within about 1°) has 2° Cancer Asc opposite the two Plutos - same symbolism as the SQ. Again, we get Moon-Jupiter: PSSR Moon conjuncts SSR Jupiter! Having both of these hit at once must mean something specific. I just don't know what it was. (I keep getting the sense that she had some news that had her under terrible stress.)

Interesting, it appears to me the two charts showing par-excellent symbolism for her death were the mundo DSLR along with her Terts. Maybe a clue to when we see OI lunars---check our terts?
