New Question:

My tropical natal horoscope has the sun at one degree Aries.
My sidereal natal horoscope has the sun at seven degrees Pisces with no aspects.
I don't have the temper of a fire sign, but I have the impulsiveness of an Aries.
My sidereal natal horoscope does have Mars conjunct my Ascendant by two degrees in Scorpio.
Could that lead to some fire sign-like traits?

Yes, Mars rising commonly gives the traits you describe. If you want to give your full data, Joseph, we can look further.

Now that I'm home, I'll add a few more notes.

Astrologers of all persuasions and approaches regard Mars conjunct Ascendant (and, for most of us, Mars on any angle) as being impulsive. Here's my summary interpretation of Mars on an angle from https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=38#p186 - you can read the more complete interpretation on that page.
Courage, Energy, Aggression. Independent, determined, persevering, self-willed. Aggressive, challenging, needs to win (combative, quarrelsome). On the go, needs to burn energy, impulsive (strong and untiring when young). Courage (physical and moral: forthright, outspoken, argumentative). Dominates, commands. Business leadership, competitive excellence. Strong sexual drives need frequent satisfaction.
Additionally, the surging passion of Pisces is sometimes mistaken for impulsiveness. Yu can read the full Sun in Pisces interpretation at https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=35#p166 -

Mars in Scorpio (fearless, fun-loving, and naughty) intensifies the Mars nature (Scorpio being Mars' sign), though impulsiveness is not a specific way I've seen this manifest.

Is there on-line software you recommend for both natal charts and progressions?

Thanks,
Joe

Yes, that rising Mars in Scorpio (about 2° above Asc) is quite potent for Mars expression. Even more so, Mars (ecliptically and mundanely) opposes setting Jupiter; and both mundanely square Venus on IC. Showing the mundane placements of the planets expressed as distances through their houses:

26°10' 6H - Jupiter
27°44' 3H - Venus
27°56' 12H - Mars

Many people use Astro.com. I don't use it, so would be little help in walking you through it.

You may also want to get the free TMSA software distributed on this site. It doesn't yet do progressions, but does Sidereal natal charts, solar and lunar returns, and the ingresses used in mundane astrology.
