Irene Cara was born March 18, 1959, 10:41 AM EST, New York, NY and died last night at her home in Largo, FL (cause not yet reported).

For a year, she was everything in music - winning every award, guesting on every show, playing at every open spot. What a feeling, indeed! Fame and the later Flashdance anchored her place in music history. (And she played Mary Magdalene opposite Ted Neeley. Yeah, Ted Neeley!)

Having a year of being everything, she went on to three decades of continuing to be a very definite something - on Broadway and TV, in recording, and touring.

A Pisces-Gemini, Cara had a hardworking self-made and proud Moon-Saturn opposition and a foreground (also hard working) Saturn-Pluto mundane square.

Last night, Jupiter was in the degree of her Sun. I suppose that's the instant propulsion of her name back into public awareness. There has been no mention of a prolonged illness, so this likely isn't a "relief from suffering" aspect. Nonetheless, Jupiter transiting conjunct her Sun was the main transit indicator.

Mars has retrograded to within 2° of her Mars but hasn't made it all the way back yet. Progressions give a Moon-Uranus square.

Her final SLR March 18 had the Mars-Neptune square foreground, but not super-close. The strongest features is that Jupiter transit to her Sun, partile and closely rising in the SLR. (As mentioned, it's the main transit of her death.) The same transit was exactly on IC of her incoming Demi-SLR of early this morning (with the Mars-Neptune square against foreground). We may have to wait for medical information on cause of death to understand this.

Her SQ had natal Saturn on MC last night. Her PSSR had transiting Mars on Ascendant.

Oh no, awe she is wonderful. I wear leg warmers almost everyday now because of her. She taught me to really sing. Heaven gained an Angel today.
