New Jersey's worst disaster ever was Hurricane Sandy. I have already studied this from a New York City perspective in SMA.

Damage was severe across the state, with Hoboken and Jersey City hit especially hard (astrologically, these are scarcely different from what we'd see with Manhattan or, even more so, Staten Island). Damages were $36.8 billion, fatalities 43, and more than 2 million homes were without power.

Sandy made landfall near Atlantic City, at about Brigantine, October 29, 2012, 7:30 PM EDT (and dumped over 11 inches of rain there in the process).
