CNN reported at 4:29 AM PDT today:
At least 94 people have died after a boat capsized and caught fire off the island of Lampedusa, the Italian coast guard said Thursday. At least 151 people were rescued.

Up to 500 people were thought to have been on board, including people from Somalia, Eritrea and Ghana, the coast guard said. The boat is believed to have launched from Libya.

Lampedusa, a tiny island near Sicily, has become a destination for tens of thousands of refugees seeking to enter Europe.
The original article appears to have been posted just over 9 hours ago, meaning about 10:00 PM PDT (7:00 AM CEDT), but I don't have an actual time for the incident. Lampedusa is 35N30, 12E56, and the event was nearby. The initial cause was a fire.

CAPSOLAR: This year's "Venus conjunct Pluto, both square Uranus" is foreground for Pampedusa, with Pluto less than 2° of the angles.

CAPLUNAR: Neptune is within a degree of square the Midheaven.

CANSOLAR: Sun is within a degree of square the Ascendant. (The Sun is one of the "fiery" planets, strongly involved in fires.) Pluto is more widely foreground.

TRANSITS TO CAPSOLAR: Today's Sun-Uranus-Pluto T-square in space is on the Capsolar angles for the site.

TRANSITS TO CANSOLAR: Today is the exact transiting Saturn conjunction with Cansolar Moon. It was 4' wide 7:00 AM, the estimated time of the event.

CANSOLAR QUOTIDIAN: Transiting Mars was less than 2° from square the Ascendant for the island. This is the clear indication of the fire. (WIth improved coordinates, we may or may not grab Neptune as well.)

Secondo la Guardia costiera, le prime segnalazioni erano arrivate da alcuni pescherecci attorno alle sette e venti di mattina.
