Jang Song-thaek executed

In a dramatic and highly publicized event, North Korea just executed Jang Song-thaek, the uncle of leader Kim Jong-un (and, until a few days ago, the second most powerful figure in the Korean government).

North Korea's Capsolar has been dominated this year by a tight Venus-Pluto conjunction rising and Saturn near the MC - certainly appropriate for having your uncle offed in a power struggle.

Uranus-Pluto is angular in the Cansolar and in the Libsolar.

The Caplunar has Sun rising and Mars at the Midheaven, a pattern that resembles those for the deaths of presidents and other political leaders and, in any case, reeks of machismo and conflict.

Somewhat strangely, the Arilunar only a few hours ago, while it still has an angular Pluto, also has Venus exactly setting in Pyongyang.

But the timing was controlled by something else: Transiting Mars is exactly at the CapQ Midheaven. Transiting and ingress Neptunes straddle the CanQ MC.
