I thought I'd start by reposting her short Preface to the book. I copy this not to vouch for what she says necessarily, but to convey her spirit and the approach of her mind.
I am an astrologer. Hundreds of years ago, every physician was an astrologer, but not I am one of only a few. I believe that the diseases from which a patient suffers can be predicted as possibilities from the birth chart. "As above, so below," we astrologers say, and the pattern in the Cosmos at the time of an event is directly related to the kind of event it will be.
A patient with a badly placed Venus will not be able to balance the energies of the body. A patient with an overactive Mars will have high fevers and be accident prone. Some whose Jupiter is unrestrained by other planets is less likely to be able to check the growth of a cancer, which begins as wild proliferation of certain tissues. If Neptune is too powerful, the patient will be overfearful and may bring about the very afflictions which are feared. If Mercury is the disease indicator, there will be a breakdown of the internal communications of the body. If Saturn is strong, the patient will be able to endure a great deal, but may suffer from bone diseases. If the Moon is in aspect to the more difficult planets, the "malefics," there will be danger in infancy, and psychological troubles due to the influence of the mother. If Pluto is in aspect to Venus, intense sexuality will bring many experiences into the life. If the Sun is prominent and well placed, the health will be good and the ego strong.
A look at the birth patterns of my patients has taught me much about their diseases. The case notes which follow show how medical astrology can be used,
