Dr. Millard wrote:Eclipses have also traditionally been associated with blindness, and the case of the infant Donald supports the tradition. The baby was born with an extremely rare condition - he had a tumor derived from the optic chiasma nerve tissue, an astrocytoma, and became blind when he was only two months old. Before he died at the age of five months, a CT scan had demonstrated that the tumor filled two-thirds of his brain.

...it was only towards the end of January when he was just over two months that his right eye began to bulge. It was obvious that something was pushing it forward...
He "appeared to be in great pain." A tumor biopsy February 3 diagnosed the condition. He was treated with radiation, which eased things somewhat. He died April 29: This was the anniversary of the total eclipse before his birth, which Millard credited with his tragic condition and death. - I note that Donald himself was born at an eclipse, though a weak one: an appulse lunar eclipse that was exact a few hours after he was born.

MY ANALYSIS: Donald was a Libra-Aries, born at a lunar eclipse with Sun partile conjunct Mercury, both being about 5-6° from Mars on one side and Uranus on the other. These aren't very close, but the Mars/Uranus midpoint at 19°25' Libra is 0°06' from his Mercury and 0°25' from his Sun! It's a strong contact. Furthermore, Saturn squares the pattern. Here are the planets:

13°29' Libra - Uranus
15°17' Aries - Moon
19°19' Libra - Mercury
19°50' Libra - Sun
22°02' Cancer - Saturn
25°21' Libra - Mars

This is a pretty classic pattern - and it all falls in the background, with the Full Moon itself across the 6th-12th houses. There are positives in the chart - Jupiter 6° below Dsc, Venus about 1° from square MC, so he surely was loved and had whatever the parents could provide, but his health and length of life were not among those things.

Perhaps the eclipse did have something to do with blindness. At least, I accept the idea that the luminaries are connected to the eyes. Nonetheless, going back to principles, if I saw this chart at his birth I would have expected serious health concerns. A background (especially 6th-12th) opposition across Aries-Libra commonly means a series health condition involving Aries-Libra parts of the body - which includes the head! - and the symbolism of the aspects themselves. The main aspects were Sun-Mercury conjunction, Moon-Uranus opposition, and the broad symbolism of the Moon-Sun opposition, all wrapped in Saturn and Mars aspects.

What to expect? Something in Aries-Libra body parts. Moon-Sun affects many things (eyes being one of them by tradition). For Sun-Mercury, I wrote, "Overall health (or unhealth) of the nervous system. Spinal nerves, brain neurology (especially forebrain)..." etc. For Moon-Uranus, perhaps nothing useful here, with focus on the autonomic nervous system with nervous strain and disorientation (maybe true, but we don't know it'/s true). The essential elements are pretty much all there.

Normally I would expect Moon's part of the body - Aries for the kidneys and buttocks - but for an opposition across the background I'd take the whole Libra-Aries axis. In this case, Mars also was in Libra, so the head (including both the brain and the eyes) is definitely a target.
