Parton is one of the most-honored female country performers of all time. She has written more than 3,000 songs. As a top performer in 1980, Parton was earning $350,000 a week. Parton won four Grammy's and Country Music Association awards from her colleagues. By 1993, the country artist had released more than 60 albums. In 1986, she opened her $75 million amusement park, "Dollywood" in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The Park is as enthusiastically and unashamedly tacky as her own over-the-top image. By 1993, "Dollywood" was racking in $30 million annually.

Well said. The general tone of this chart is... benefic. Success, breakout figure, etc.

Her luminary signs deserve a lot of attention, though: In simple terms (with lots of fine points to fill in), the well-aspected Capricorn Sun is raucous and playful, and the Leo Moon is "in your face," "out there," a powerful presentation. These are the luminary signs of someone willing to name an amusement part after herself! <g>

The Mars-Saturn shouldn't be underplayed for its background position, especially with the Capricorn Sun - Capricorn being a Mars + Saturn constellation. I would expect hardship and struggle. With such an overall benefic chart, though, I'd expect prevailing over the hardship, struggling through huge hard work. One thing she hasn't had much of is antagonism with her peers - she's much loved, probably because she's much-loving. Popular and successful indeed.

Jim, in Sept 1982 Dolly had to have a partial hysterectomy as well as other surgery for severe health problems which began a couple of years earlier. When we look at her SA in Long progressed natal chart for Sept 1980 we note p. Saturn partile her SA in Long MC, in Sept 1982 we note her p. Saturn partile 90 SA in Long Asc. Dolly says from 1980-1982 was the roughest time in her life due to health problems. We can see her p. cnj of Natal Mars-Saturn timing this nasty period in her life.
