Will Smith, going to the peak of his Hollywood career to the bottom of his career within 2 hours of his life on the Academy Awards stage March 27, 2022.

At one time, Will Smith was one of the biggest Hollywood stars and an industry go-to. However, post-Academy Awards incident, studios have apparently been hesitant to work with the star. Many of the actor’s projects were either canceled or put on hold. According to one unnamed prominent studio executive who spoke to the outlet, companies weren't all that eager to work with Smith shortly after the incident.

I wanted to take a look at Will Smith’s charts after reading the above quoted words pertaining to Will's infamous slap of Chris Rock on the main stage of the March 27 2022 Academy Awards, then 2 hours later winning an Oscar. It appears Will Smith’s career went from a peak by him winning the Academy Award for Best Actor on March 27, 2022 to a bottom of his career for him loosing his temper by slapping Chris Rock. What a most interesting life contrast! Let’s look at some of the prominent symbolism of his charts which should confirm this interesting contrast for his career. His Natal is rated A for 9/25/1968; 9:47 PM; Philadelphia, Pa. 39N57,08; 075W09,51.

First, I always like to look at one’s Natal Chart with any possible angular 0,90,180 angular Solar Arcs when someone reaches a publicized pinnacle in their career such as an Oscar. His Academy Award Oscar for Best Actor on March 27, 2022 calculates d Jupiter 19,01 Lib partile conjunct his Natal West Point 19,44 Lib; Par-Excellent angular Symbolism symbolism for winning an Oscar.

Second, after looking for any possible angular Solar Arc hits, I like to go to the Will’s SSR when a well-publicized event such as an Academy Awards ceremony produces such contrasting career events for Will Smith. Will Smith’s main residence is the Los Angeles area. Of course we don’t know where he was located at the time of his 2021 SSR, but this really doesn’t matter since his 2021 SSR Moon aspects are most revealing IMHO for a career low. This is a most interesting 2021 SSR showing IMO contrasting benefic & malefic symbolism:
Note his angular SSR Saturn in LA 4,56 mundo conjunct his SSR IC. But even if Will was not in LA for his 2021 SSR, Note his grand trine of the partile 120 aspects of Moon-Mars-Saturn, a very malefic triangular configuration involving his all-important SSR Moon. His SSR Moon calculates this grand trine no matter where he was located on his 2021 SSR and is also partile conjunct his Natal ASC. Also note his angular SSR Mercury partile 180 his Natal Saturn. All excellent malefic symbolism for his career tanking after his infamous slap of Chris Rock on the main TV stage of the Academy Awards. And then after the “infamous slap” he wins Oscar for Best Actor with his performance of “King Richard.” IMO, the benefic symbolism for his 2021 SSR winning an Oscar is his partile Natal Mercury-Venus conjunction is partile conjunct his LA SSR ASC. As usual for these “outstanding incidents” pertaining to his career I think his 2021 SSR displays par-excellent outstanding symbolism, both beneficially & malefically. Too be continued.

This is a great example! - Let me add a few things I think you probably won't.

First, I saw that solar arc Jupiter to MC - impressive! There is another solar arc that's part of the event, though - directed Venus to natal Pluto. Several layers of meaning (starting with the fact that the trigger was an insult to Smith's wife that he took personally instead of as part of a comedy act).

In fact, the entire time played up Venus matters. That very night, Venus exactly conjoined Saturn, both of them exactly square Smith's natal Moon. (Natally, he has a partile Venus-Saturn mundane opposition.) He took the insult very personally. - Simple transits say a lot, e.g., he was at Jupiter opposite natal Jupiter (on his SNQ and PSSR angles) which, superficially, is consistent with the career peak of winning the Oscar. Additionally, planets opposing their natal positions commonly represent reassessment and realignment points when we come up against what we've done right and what we've done wrong in terms of that planet. Smith got strong positive AND messages within a single evening.

L4ss easy to track as someone looking in from the outside, Smith's other strong transit - probably the one setting the tone of the event in a larger context - was Neptune opposite natal Pluto, This transit sponsors a lot of soul searching. We know he had to go through this in the aftermath. I think he probably had been going through it for many months and these internal psychological shifts were the context for his reactions that night. (Smith is a Spoke-Rim - no Hub luminary. He isn't naturally introspective.)


As for "natal potential" for such an event, Smith is primarily a Moon and Uranus type of person - Moon's angularity and Uranus' close mundane conjunction with Sun being his strongest drives. When he moved to the West Coast, his Sun came to an angle and, for many years, progressed Uranus has been within a few minutes of conjunct his Sun: His amazing career and dynastic reach has surely been shown by this shining Sun-Uranus combination. It also makes him volatile, unpredictable (in the best and worst ways), especially without an anchoring, stabilizing Hub luminary. He's not innately violent, but his balanced, middleground Mars is in Leo where it can roar audaciously, its closest major aspect being a sextile to Venus. He is passionate. (With his angular Moon, he feels things strongly and doesn't always know where those feelings are coming from or what to make of them.)

You're probably going to cover his SLR, so I won't say much about it except that it brought out these very emotional factors. Natal Moon (as in his nativity) is the strongest presence. It's supported by the abrupt, breaking-loose strong emotions of a Venus-Mars conjunction square Uranus, IC to Dsc. (If individual angles matter in a return - which they might not - these angles reinforce her personal and "brought to home" he took the remarks about his wife.) A partile foreground Moon-Saturn square suggests that what should have been one of the greatest nights of his life was one of its worst.

It was a great night for his quotidians, but there was one little stinker that snuck in: Transiting Sun opposed Smith's SSR Mars and that aspect squared his PSSR Ascendant even as transiting Jupiter (exactly opposite natal Jupiter) crossed his PSSR MC. Not bad.

Treating it as an ecliptical conjunction (as I think we should), that's already taken care of. If you wanted to treat this as a mundane transit, it's trickier: The transiting planets need to be precession-adjusted back to the birth date. (I think such transits are all ecliptical, but I'm holding a final conclusion until Mike gets his transit modules working.)

Yes, I think this was the trigger (but only the trigger); and Mars was no longer within orb of his MC. Moon was, though, which provided one more in a LONG list of Moon influences (most angular natal planet, dominating his returns, exact Venus-Saturn transit to natal Moon, etc.; I think there was even a natal Moon angularity on one of the quotidians).

Quick math check: Mars orbits the sun every 1.88085 years. On average, it conjoins, opposes, or squares one natal angle every 171 days. Mars is within 1° of conjunct, opposite, or square either Ascendant or Descendant 6.25% of the time and transiting Moon is within a degree of conjunct, opposite or square that Mars (or that angle - same math), one-eighth of that, or 0.788125% of the time. That means that Will Smith, in his first 53 years of life, likely had Mars transiting within 1° of a natal angle and Moon simultaneously within 1° of major hard transit to Mars during 151 days of his life (almost 50 separate times). - Still, this was surely a big part of the trigger that evening.

Me, too. I thought it was part of the monologue setup.

Astrologers who heavily favor houses probably thought this even more so, since the Moon-Mars conjunction and Venus-Saturn conjunction (four planets) were on the 5th house - all about the show! - with Sun on Descendant. Moon's closest aspect at 7 PM wasn't Mars yet, it was the square to Uranus. (Surprise!)

With Moon exactly at his 19°45' Capricorn MC, Moon's aspects to Mars (21°20' Cap) and Uranus (17°38') on either side averaged to 19°29' Capricorn.

Since you reminded me indirectly in the other thread: Smith's Novienic Lunar Return occurred March 27 at 2:15 PM PDT. For central Los Angeles, it had:

2°46' Ari - MC
3°18' Cap - t Pluto [sq. r Mercury-Venus]

Moon at 16°50' Cap was 3° above Descendant partile square Uranus. Natal Saturn opposite Mercury-Venus was on MC.

The angularities aren't tight. It's not a spectacular stand-out on its own (but it's only meant to be an "icing on the cake" singling out a day within the context of the SLR etc.

No way I could have forecasted he would have won an Oscar with this SLR with the very malefic “outstanding incident” symbolism; but, this malefic symbolism certainly explains the “infamous slap” which did great harm to his Hollywood career.

This SLR features two angular “outstanding incident” aspects; SLR Mars partile 90 SLR Uranus and SLR/Natal Moon partile 90 SLR Saturn. Obviously these two angular “outstanding incident” partile aspects symbolized his very malefic action for his infamous on stage “slap” of Chris Rock before a live TV audience. Cyril Fagan taught that angular midpoints were important to look at when there were clusters of planets in the immediate foreground of the angles. Note a Direct Midpoint of: SLR Mars/SLR Saturn = SLR MC (0,01)! With acute hindsight we can now see this very malefic direct midpoint symbolized Will Smith ruining his Hollywood Career with his bizarre on stage slap of the host Chris Rock.

But, where is the symbolism in this SLR for him 2 hours later after the “slap” winning the Oscar for Best Actor?? IMHO, we see the benefic symbolism for winning the Oscar in Cyril Fagan words:

Using Fagan’s above words, I always look for the “rapidly moving planets” in a SLR partile aspecting Natal Angles and we see his SLR Venus (19,57 Cap) partile conjunct his Natal MC (19,44 Cap). Transits to the Natal on the day/time of a SLR are frozen in time for the time span of the SLR.

For sure Will Smith’s Mar 21 SLR clearly showed all the par-excellent planetary partile aspected symbolism for the malefic slap & and for his winning the Oscar; BUT, as things turned out the angular “outstanding incident” malefic aspects in this SLR far outweigh the non-angular benefic partile aspects from a media & career standpoint. History will forget his winning the Oscar for best actor, but will never forget his career being damaged by his “slap” of Chris Rock.
