Hi there,
I am reaching out to see if there are any significant changes occurring in my astrological chart? I have been trying to make different life adjustments to better myself. I quit drinking alcohol and have been facing many of my demons, but I am also in school working on my doctorate. I have been having health issues and I have been feeling more tired and lazy than usual. I don't know if I am looking for anything in particular but I am interested in knowing anything you could provide me to be aware of. thank you so much!

DOB: August 25, 1994
Location of Birth: Teaneck, NJ
Time of birth: 11:10 AM

Current location: Boca Raton, FL

There are always changes occurring in your charts - all of us are always in motion - and there are dozens of kinds of influence that can affect the current simultaneously. I'm happy to look at the major ones for you.

First, regarding transits: Here's the big one! Transiting Pluto has been crossing your IC (only a couple of MINUTES off today). This marks periods of significant change in life, the sort of thing that substantially leaves the past behind as you walk through a one-way door - or, to put it differently, it takes the pieces apart as if dismantling a puzzle you thought you had solved, and letting you put it together from scratch to see if you come out with the same picture - real reinvention, not just "fixing things."

Second, you're coming up to your Saturn Return. Each time Saturn completes one orbit around the sun you get a report card on what you have done well or poorly in your past. In particular, decisions that you made in the aftermath of Saturn square Saturn about age 20-21 are shifting: If you picked a wild, exploring path, you might be settling down if you picked a "play it safe" path, you're probably ready to break out. It's a time to pick the rules, definitions, and boundaries that will feel wide open, free, and shaping now, knowing that they will both shape you and gradually become restricting (and need to be outgrown) at later life stages.

Those are the main transit cycles, which may be the whole of what you've been feeling.

There are no outstanding secondary progressions right now. BY any interesting coincidence, though, just as transiting Pluto crosses your natal IC, solar arc Ascendant has been conjoining your natal Pluto, Basically, same as what I said above.

Your birthday is in August. You are now in the part of the year when you are wrapping up the matters shown in last year's solar return (birthday chart), and setting yourself up for the next one. Presuming you were in Boca Raton for your last SSR and will be there for your next, the old chart was basically Mercury, Jupiter, and a little Neptune - studious, intellectual, advantageous - except for a Moon-Venus-Saturn pattern suggesting emotional hardship or heartache.

Your new birthday chart for BR is particularly unpleasant: Your Mars is most angular, transiting Mars and Neptune, Moon squares two different Saturns - you may want to pick a different location to be August 25, 2023, at 9:24 PM EDT. There aren't outstandingly good places in the U.S. that I see at a first glance, but if you're interested in taking a birthday trip let me know, including saying how widely (and to where) you're able to travel.

Thank you Jim, that does sound a lot like what I was looking for.
May I ask what "BR" means?

As far as being in Boca Raton for my next birthday, I don't have the means to travel anywhere outside of Florida, but does anywhere in North Florida or Key West look ok?

Thank you again.

Lol, Boca Raton. Thought it was obvious from context but I guess not.
As far as being in Boca Raton for my next birthday, I think you mean just for the day or to move? How long would I need to be away for? What would happen if I stay?
The minute of the solar return.
I would be interested in going to North Carolina or New Jersey, but if you see a spot that is outside of the US I wouldn't be against going. I think Europe sounds interesting.
I'll look when I get home. I don't think NC or NJ will make much difference, but it might. What cities?

Sorry, it did look obvious, but then I was questioning it lol.
I sound so silly, but when I read 2023 I was thinking it was next year! so embarrassing.... I resubmitted the post, you are quick! I couldn't do anything outside of Florida for this birthday... but is North Florida or Key West something? If it doesn't make that much of a difference, I guess I am interested what may happen if I am here?

North Florida doesn't make a difference. You need to get much farther away for it to matter. Here is the technical breakdown for your next (August 24, 2023) solar return for your current residence:

Code: Select all

Pl Longitude Lat Speed RA Decl Azi Alt PVL Ang G
                           Transiting Planets

                            Radical Planets
Ma 11Ge 3'19" 0N19 +38'31" 96°41' 23N37 357°51' -40° 0' 92°34' 100% N

Mo 27Pi49'57" 2N10 +12° 0' 20°22' 10N54 73°11' - 8°41' 9° 4' 79% A

----------------------
tMo sq rSa 2°24' 89% M
----------------------
rMo op rVe 2°50' 85% M
The main thing to notice is that natal Mars says 100% - it is the strongest planet. Although your natal planets are Mars, Venus, and Moon - that could be nicely sexual, for example - the transiting planets angular are Mars (95%, 5°32' off an angle) and Neptune 92% (5°24' off an angle). Furthermore, in the aspect section, it shows Mars opposite Neptune within less than 1°. (This is a mundane aspect, close anywhere in the world but much closer in the southeast). - In the aspect section, you see that Moon squares Mercury and Saturn - the Mercury is everywhere in the world and perfectly fine, the Saturn is a mundane aspect (M) so is regional, existing in your part of the world.

The double Mars is fiery and combative - your Mars is strongest so you are more cantankerous and combative than those around you or (at least) more willing to meet antagonism in kind. Mars-Neptune is especially toxic: Here is one way of describing it:
Toxic either to the body or psyche. Most commonly magnified emotions (from dread to terror), amplified perception of threat: anxious, fearful, anticipating danger or misfortune (often fantasized). Feeling vulnerable to abuse, attack, betrayal; one's soft spots are exposed (any neurotic tendencies amplified); feeling the ground fall out from under one’s feet. Increasing risk of treachery, sabotage, other betrayal, poisoned relationships, public ridicule, scandal. Possibly health-debilitating: extreme reactions to drugs, chemicals, tainted food, or other toxins. Enthusiastic surrender to temptation (e.g. heightened holiday spirits and indulgence) have stronger consequences than usual.
Moon-Saturn is broadly negative. Combined with Mars-Neptune, your health becomes one possible concern. Here's a generic interpretation of Moon-Saturn in the SSR:
Focus on survival, self-reliance, struggle (financial hardship, difficulties, failures; adverse to ambitions or relationships). Primarily sad events; even happy events occur under arduous, demanding, restrictive, controlling conditions. Self-restraint: imposing discipline and limitation on oneself, restraint of feelings, self-punishment. Needs privacy and freedom from interference (reclusive). Discourteous, cantankerous, disagreeable, cranky, uncooperative, unattractive (self-neglect), bitter toward life. Insensitive to others: criticizes for petty reasons, irks others, complaints and judgements cause discomfort. Prudish and squeamish (miser, witch-burner, fiery religious conviction). Unfortunate for health and well-being (especially heart and blood pressure).
In summary, there is room for more or less anything that feels negative that the circumstances of your life allow. This doesn't mean that everything in the year will be really bad, just that this is the baseline (like a year when the stock market is bad, even though there are good weeks here and there).

Ibn contrast, I did find one good area for you. Do you think you can score a cheap ticket to Las Vegas for your birthday? There is an exact Jupiter line passing almost exactly through the city and, though Venus is stronger near Shasta and the northeast, Venus is foreground widely in Vegas exactly squares Jupiter. This is good! Sun is angular nearby, too. Going by longitude, here are the angles and angular planets for Las Vegas:

18°45' Can - t Venus
19°49' Cap - Asc
20°22' Ari - t Jupiter

6°47' Sco - MC
7°31' Leo - r Sun

There's one downside: Saturn opposes your Sun this birthday. It is sorta kinda there everywhere, but it is barely active in Las Vegas: Saturn is more than 2° from square MC, more than 1° from opposite Sun, and not foreground, so it's barely a player at all. Here is the chart breakdown for Las Vegas:

Code: Select all

Pl Longitude Lat Speed RA Decl Azi Alt PVL Ang G

Su 7Le31' 1" 0N 0 +57'52" 154°33' 10N33 275°50' +10° 0' 190° 3' 100% W
Pl 0Sc43'12" 13N46 + 0'40" 236°42' 5S48 184°37' +47°55' 265°50' 95% M
------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Class 1 Aspects
tMo sq tMe 1°34' 95%

tVe op tPl 1°21' 96% M
----------------------
tMo sq rMo 2°25' 89% M
This is an entirely different chart! Not only are Sun and Jupiter the most angular planets, but Venus i closely square Jupiter. You keep the curious Moon-Mercury square but the Moon-Saturn mundane square in the southeast is gone, and neither the Mars-Neptune nor your natal Mars is a player. It's quite a positive chart.

Thank you so much! I did look and it looked pretty expensive, but I will try to look at other options. I may end up staying in Florida. I appreciate your time in getting me this information!

Priceline currently has Miami to Vegs round trip at just over $100 for, say, in on the 24th and out on the 25th, though I didn't check exact flights, times, etc. (I saw $117 round trip, and then a few up from there.)
