As a further event involving the British royals, I've been asked to examine the murder of Lord Louis Mountbatten. I'll put the basic data here and get back to the analysis when I can.

Louis Mountbatten, the first Earl Mountbatten of Burma and former Viceroy of India, and one time Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, was killed by a bomb explosion by the IRA August 27, 1979, 11:39 AM BST. in Mullaghmore, Ireland, along with three other people (two of whom were children). He was Queen Elizabeth's second cousin. .

Charts are calculated first for London, and then for the location of the bombing.

His state funeral was September 5, 1979 at Westminster Abbey.

Sun-Venus (conj 0°52'), Sun-Jupiter (conj 1°47'), Venus-Jupiter (conj. 2°39'), Sa/Ne on angles (0°26')

Week: Liblunar {+1 Good}
Moon entered Libra at 10:16 AM. Moon is on EP (0°10'). Pluto is distantly foreground (7°39'). I gave it +1 partly for his emotional importance and partly because of the children who died on board.

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits {+1 Good}
CapQ Asc conj. t. Sun (0°29'), conj. t. Venus (1°01'); Sun-Venus conj. (0°32')
CapQ MC sq. CapQ Moon (1°39'), sq. t. Jupiter (1°00'); t. Jupiter conj. CapQ Moon (0°39')
------------------------------------
t. Mars sq. Capsolar MC (1°21')
The CapQ is quite mixed. It IS a clear representation of Sun, and has other advantages, but has too much benefic. The Moon-Jupiter isn't a concern, since this was a powerful action of nationalism by the IRA and totally fitting the basic Moon-Jupiter profile; but it would be a 0-Mixed by itself. With an ambiguous CapQ, we check transits to Capsolar, which were totally on target.

Day: Cansolar quotidian & Transits {+1 Good}

Does anyone know a time for this? The discussion is so much affected by not knowing whether the Liblunar was in force. I'd like to include this in SMA under Explosions for Ireland, and under Royals for London... but not knowing whether it occurred before or after the Liblunar is a significant impediment.

Ah, found it. They went out later than I thought. According to an article in The Telegraph (this morning, coincidentally), "The bomb had been detonated by remote control at 11:39 AM when the board, Shadow V, was about 200 yards from the harbor." - I'll amend everything above to reflect the correct time. The Moon was 0°42' Libra and was rising at the time of the explosion.
