These notes on your Sidereal Natal Horoscope are provided for your reference and study. They are not a full interpretation of your birth chart. Rather, they are building blocks from which a full interpretation can be built. Each factor below contributes to your character. The paragraphs may repeat or contradict each other (we all have contradictions). While it does not take an astrologer to fuse these factors into a balanced picture of you and your life, it does require knowledge of human behavior and how we support and sabotage ourselves. Your astrologer can help you in this life-long undertaking of knowing yourself. Read these notes slowly: Feel your way through the interweaving ideas, reflecting on what you know of yourself.
Character is destiny. Who you are determines the life that is yours to unfold. “Know thyself” is the key.
The paragraphs are brief. We have sought to pack in everything essential, to use few words to imply much more. Not every phrase will apply, of course. Some will be more important than others; but the gist of each section should clearly reflect truth about you. When you have spent time with this and have new questions, consult your astrologer to discuss them.
Pluto on Ascendant
Need to live by their own rules (not others’ rules or conventions). Social outsider (enjoys solitude), resists reflexively conforming to herd expectations (unique, eccentric, odd). Respectful of people (not systems). Kind, unthreatening, guileless (only rarely antisocial); innocent without naivete. Deeply affected by cruelty or injustice. Spiritually inquiring, questioning. Unrushed in emotional commitment.

Intelligent, curious, exploring, discovery, futurist. Eccentric, nonconforming, original, innovative, creative. Social responsibility, progressive, reformer, humane, sympathetic to others’ troubles. Broad interests, instinct for the interconnection of all things (genius). Sexually liberal (unusual marital conditions). High-strung, needs solitude. Astrology.

Moon opposite Mars (0°23’)
Active and reactive, temperamental, thinks and acts rapidly. Detests idleness, rarely still. Driven, competent, ambitious. Impatient, acerbic, irritable. Frank and sharp-tongued (friction in close relationships). Needs physical, emotional, and mental “room to breathe” (little domestic instinct). Substance abuse not uncommon. Sexual needs strong, almost irrepressible (the women are often sexual firecrackers, notable for the speed and intensity of their climaxes).
Moon square Sun (1°15’ M)
Energetic, dynamic, terrific drive, forceful. Psychic vitality, a mental-emotional attitude biased toward success. Comfortable with power. Intense desire in whatever they undertake. Sexual desires strong, passionate, though often narcissistic. Possible vanity, self-exaltation, and obstinacy.
Sun in Scorpio
Strong drive, competitive (combative). Requires freedom of movement and thought. Sexually voracious. Persistent, powerful, innovative, insightful. Bold, moral courage, unbowed. Pragmatic. Thought leaders (not followers). Forthright, blunt. Wit, humor. Enjoys life. Slow to show weaknesses; collects others’ weaknesses.

Sun square Mars (0°28’ M)
Action, drive, accomplishment, vitality, courage. Restless, forthright, direct (perhaps hasty, impatient, temperamental, low frustration tolerance). Strong physical aggression (for business, sex, etc.). Industrious, instinctively leads or commands, thus often promoted.
Sun square Jupiter (4°56’)
Generous, kind, warm, amiable, tolerant. Visible self-confidence. Needs acceptance and friendship. General dislike of problems. Lucky, confident: most problems usually resolve remarkably easily. Extravagant, prodigal, loves leisure, overly reliant on luck. Philosophical or religious mind.
Mars in Leo
Strong, daring, confident
(chutzpah). Refuses to be dominated or intimidated (imperious). Upbeat energy, audacious. Leaps in to help or lead (whatever is needed, including combat). Charismatic, attracts a following. Practical idealist. Observant, reads situations, acts effectively. Sexually ardent, bold, forthright (often, but not always, the aggressor).
Mars conjunct Jupiter (5°32’ M)
Exalts strength, competition, and conquest. Zest, vitality, enthusiasm, courage, confidence. Enterprising, resourceful. Sexually lusty, eager, popular, on the hunt. “Money to burn” (generous or extravagant). Aggressive with beliefs, evangelical (enthusiasts, missionaries, barnstormers).
Mercury in Libra
Courteous, well-mannered expression. Tactful, gracious, persuasive, pleasant (sarcastic, withholding). Mediator, negotiator, peacemaker, diplomat (idealist). Masters of finding common denominators. Mind has considerable intensity.
Mercury conjunct Uranus (1°39’ M)
Independent thinker. Curiosity and investigative spirit. Mind unfettered by formality: solves problems and integrates data more intuitively. Rejects linearity, lacks rigor in learning. Many interests, diverse, often unusual (including astrology or occultism). Speech engages others’ attention, usually has something interesting to say; challenges convention or authority, dares to speak despite consequences. Gentle rebellious behavior (“bad girl”) seems rooted in, “Don’t tell me how to think.” Socially odd, but not unpopular for it.
Venus in Sagittarius
Values friendship (sees it ennobling, honoring). Eager to be liked, accepted (usually is) and bring value to friendship. Expects reliable friends (returns the same). Needs affection openly declared: dislikes guessing. Idealist, committed to vision of a better world. Gracious, welcoming, generous, kind. Zealous, generous lovers. Much in their lives is defined by legacy.
Venus square Saturn (2°13’)
Work, duty, devotion give especial pleasure. Various restrictions (even hardships) in love. Work (with an eye to service) is inherently gratifying; ordinary pleasures may be delayed or sacrificed for responsibilities. Many seem comfortable alone (unpartnered), though there is rarely any sexual restraint. Childhood hardship or deprivation often exists (physical or emotional) that shapes adult patterns; many move far from their birthplace to restart their lives. Sober, responsible. Willing to pragmatically sacrifice (even sellout) whatever they need to, for something more important to them.
In recent years, we have been experimenting with a planet discovered in the early 20th century named
ERIS. This is actually your most angular planet, being 0°24' off Descendant. My tentative interpretation of Eris on an angle may be of interest to you:
Eris Foreground wrote:Mischievous, curious, trickster, outlier, and disruptor: Naturally navigates the swarm of chaos more easily with practical advantage (but thus also leaves a wake of chaos, disrupting imposed orders and conditions, because they have little native resistance to disorder). Managing the incomprehensible, juggles undecided possibilities.
