Born: January 26, 1965, 12:40 PM PST, Bakersfield, CA (AA).

Kevin McCarthy just had a hard week with a strange mix of minor success and great threat. He may still have a lot of thread surrounding him.

He's playing high-stakes games in a year when solar arc Pluto conjoins MC and near a Saturn return that wouldn't necessarily be a problem except he has a partile Moon-Saturn square at birth - meaning, transiting Saturn will square his Moon when it conjoins his Saturn.

Yesterday he halted (delayed) a government shutdown by siding with Democrats to pass a budget extension, putting himself at risk of almost certain motions to remove him as Speaker of the House. Here is his September 20 SLR:

What are his next few lunars like? October 18 he gets a 0°01' natal Mercury-Venus mundane aspect near Descendant, with some tough angular planets; but this probably tilts his way if he survives the current month. - November 14 has Jupiter square his Sun exactly on the angles, so he can be expected to have an outstanding victory of some sort. - And December 11, covering the time Congress next has to vote on this issue, the SLR is complex but all good. He's on a winning streak.

So it looks like he's going to negotiate all this really well.

But to get to that winning streak, he has to get to mid-October and out of the current SLR period. His Demi-SLR occurs tomorrow dominated by a moderately angular partile Mars-Pluto square but with the Speaker's natal Sun right on IC. He's in for some noisy fighting.

He did not survive the current lunar. The House just ousted him as Speaker.

I don't know what the next two months' excellent charts mean - the serious wins they show for him in the future - but the current chart took him out.

LA Times reported it 2:09 PM PDT = 5:09 PM EDT as Saturn rose opposite a setting Venus. But CNN at 2:22 PM says its report was 30 minutes ago, so first report was perhaps 4:52 PM EDT. The vote was 216-210 with only eight Republicans voting to remove - meaning that the Democrats took him out after Gaetz set him up.

UPDATE: A few hours later, McCarthy told everybody he would not run for Speaker again.

McCarthy announced today that he is leaving Congress at the end of the month. I assume that means that he got a REALLY great job offer (which one must expect for him). Since it isn't Dec 11 yet, it seems clear this all came together under Jupiter square his Sun exactly on the angles November 14 SLR.

Watch January 1 to see what job he shows up in. (My colleague Ron Klain - former White House Chief of staff - left our firm last week and will start as chief legal officer of Airbnb January 1. Pieces are in motion on the chess board and business is harvesting.)
