Magnitude 7.8. Buildings collapsed in Turkey and adjacent Syria. Over 2,300 people were killed (about 1,500 in Turkey and over 800 in Syria) and over 10,500 injured. This is reportedly the strongest quake to hit Turkey in over 100 years (but I'm still sorting out the truth of that claim). IDATE 2/13: At least 37,350 dead, 94,770 injured.
This 1668 North Anatolia may have been stronger:

A magnitude 6.7 aftershock occurred 11 minutes later, then a second quake, magnitude 7.5, occurred nine hours later: February 6, 10:24:49 UT, 38N01'46'', 37E12'13'' exactly as Saturn (opposed by Moon) crossed Midheaven (Saturn 0037°E12'13''51' past MC, Moon 1037°E12'13''56' past IC).
Neptune was 0°05' from Nadir at the moment of the quake; and through the ingresses, it was a very precise Neptune event from start to finish. But Saturn om CanQ Dsc is also a real zinger!
Moon was full several hours earlier, likely intensifying gravitational effects, though it was not near the horizon; but Moon was mundanely in close opposition to Saturn and exact square to Uranus.

Bottom line, an exactly angular Neptune first set i up in the Capsolar. The Caplunar was generally supportive, but the solar ingresses carried it: While transiting Neptune was still on a Capsolar angle, Neptune came to a CapQ angle the same day Saturn came to a CanQ angle. Then, at the minute Neptune was on a local angle, the quake hit.
A good example of the difference between an astrological effect and an astronomical or astrophysical effect: A Full Moon occurred February 5, 18:28:20 UT. This caused greater gravitational stress on the Earth and, as been seen in many quakes over the centuries (and, I think, accepted by seismologists generally) was a likely physical contributor. However, as an astrological chart, the Full Moon itself had nothing to anchor it specifically to central Turkey. The Full Moon was square Uranus 1°39', so would be expected to sponsor more Uranian events worldwide, but nothing in the Full Moon chart singled out the general geographic location of the quake.
