Ozone Disco Club fire

Post by Jim Eshelman »

March 18, 1996, "shortly before 11:35 PM," Quezon City, Philippines. This is the worst fire in Filipino history, with 162 deaths and 95 more injured.

Again we have excesses underlying the fire. Almost 400 people (mostly high school and college students) were in a club approved for 35 occupants. The fire seems to have been started from an electrical incident with the DJ's equipment.
