New Ferguson shooting

Any police shooting in Ferguson, MO stands a decent chance of becoming national-impact news these days. Hours ago, after a day of mostly peaceful protests commemorating the killing of Michael Brown a year ago, Ferguson police shot and seriously injured "a young man." This occurred per NYT about 11:45 PM (when Mars was near IC).

Violence had already broken out. After a mostly peaceful dayk "rival gangs began firing at each other" and there were other nearby shootings apparently unrelated to the protests (NYT). So this story isn't just "cop shoots protestor," but "gun violence breaks out in Ferguson." Nonetheless, the single shooting by police seems to be drawing the focal point of mass mind attention.
