The Mars-Saturn conjunction April 10 will be exactly opposite my PSSR Moon. This is a pretty good test of the value of the PSSR. (Only pretty good because I have a vicious SLR a few days earlier that I'll be leaving town for - and then returning so that I have the SLR LA angles as well.)

At noon on April 10:

19°35' Aqu - t Mars
19°36' Aqu - t Saturn
19°40' Leo - PSSR Moon

Three days earlier (April 7 bleeding into the 8th) PSSR Moon is on PSSR MC 16' from opposition to transiting Saturn, and with t Mars almost within a degree of the angle (not quite). I'll still be in town then, not left yet for my SLR quick trip.

Obviously, I'm not rooting for the PSSR to be spot-on! <g>

I hear you Jim. I had forgotten about that “vicious SLR” you have in April, good you will be getting out of LA for that one. And yes, a good test for your malefic PSSR aspect. Lots of other malefic charts for other things going on in April which I have red-flagged on my calendar.

The April 6 SLR for home is:

If I fly to the Kansas City International Airport (38N17'51" 94W42'50"), it becomes;

t Neptune co r Moon 3°57' M

The aspects aren't all that strong, but they're there. I will reacquire the Mars-Saturn when I return to LA, but at least I'll have the exact Venus.

Oh, I know how it will work. It will work as if I have both of those returns at the same time with a slight favoring of the KC chart. The next layer, though, is that the LA Mars-Saturn chart matches the pending Mars-Saturn opposite PSSR Moon. I remain agnostic about the importance of the PSSR so I'm not predeciding how that's going to com out.

So if I understand, you think the KC SLR Venus will alleviate the LA Mars-Saturn SLR, but still expecting some Mars-Saturn when you get back to LA from KC, correct?

Simple answer: Yes.

More robust answer:

My experience has been that when you move during a lunar return period, you get both charts. That is, the "natal" of the lunar - where it sets up - persists (like every other kind of chart I know), but lunar returns - being more adaptable - also shifts and relocates. (This is different from my experience with solar returns.) From having done a few dozen of these moves, it feels like maybe the original location is a little stronger.

But, bottom line, you have both charts (both locations). So I have (say) one chart with Mars-Saturn conjunct on an angle and another concurrent chart with Venus precisely angular. What happens when this happens? Instead of having unmitigated threatening, potentially harmful stuff, you have potentially harmful stuff AND a sense of things going well, happily, in good shape. (Much like having one ki d of solar and another kind of lunar, or a good SLR and bad Kinetic Lunar.) You may have a little bit of each or they may somewhat cancel each other out.

Bottom line, life is better than if you didn't have the benefic chart but not as good as if you had ONLY the benefic chart.

Here's a numerical way of saying it, using the "SLR Themes" scoring system I've been developing for a few years. The LA return looks like this:

Class 1 (and partile) Mars, Class 1 Saturn, and Class 3 Moon angularities (barely even that). This scores as:

Malefic = 11, Benefic = 0
Indignity = 5, Dignity = 0
Spotlight = 1, Change = 0

Clearly a bad chart by a large margin. In contrast, the chart for KC is:

t Venus on Dsc +0°02'
t Neptune on Dsc +3°56'
r Moon on Dsx +7°53'

One Class 1 (ultra-partile) Venus, one Class 2 Neptune, and one Class 1 Moon. This rates as:

Benefic = 7, Malefic = 2
Indignity = 3, Dignity = 0
Spotlight = 1, Change = 0

Quite a different chart. - Now, I'm theorizing (and actively testing this year) whether having two different locations blends them. What I suspect is that they don't entirely blend - each chart exists as itself - but that we can get a rough idea of how it all shakes out by acting as if they blend. That means I would have one ultra-partile Venus, a partile Mars, a Class 1 Saturn, Class 2 Neptune, and two Class 3 Moons. That comes out like this:

Malefic = 13, Benefic = 7
Indignity = 8, Dignity = 0
Spotlight = 2, Change = 0

This is a negative chart. That's just because the malefic weight of one of them (two planets close) is more than the benefic weight of the other. Nonetheless, it is still not as severe as the first one above which was malefic vs. benefic 11-to-0 instead of 13-to-7.
